DNC means Do Not Call (List) referring to the National Do Not Call Registry sponsored by the Federal Communications Commission. The FCC is mostly inept when it comes to dealing with these telecommunication criminals.

A telespamming disease. One of the worst.

I have gotten several calls from this number, and they didn't leave a message. I answered today and they said they were L&J Holdings and they were calling people about investment opportunities.

I am on the no call list.

Dead air, nobody there.

These people have been calling me since 2009 and each time I ask to be placed on their DO-NOT-CALL list but they continue to be an annoyance. It is probably not a company you would want to deal with especially when they disregard the law.

Received another call this morning (on a Saturday!) @ 10:24 AM.  Was expecting a call from a friend and, since it was Saturday and I wasn't near my ID, I answered. A woman asked for me by my first name only.  I asked who's calling, she said "L&J Bay holdings."
I then let her have it!  I told her I was tired of them constantly calling me and that I wasn't interested in anything they had to offer.
I then immediately told her that if I receive any more calls from them I will report them to the State's Attorney General's office AND to my attorney!  About the time I got said what I wanted to tell her, she hung up!
And, yes, I WILL report it to the State AG, along with a list of all the other times they, and several others, have called!!  I've done it before for numerous harassing calls over the past couple years and have kept a record of every one of them.  Each time I get a sheet full listing such calls (Includes Day of week, Date, Time of call, Number, ID information, and notes I add giving additional information (often from 800notes)when possible, I mail the list to the NC state AG's office!  
There have been several occasions when I received a notice from the AG's office that action had been taken against such callers!  On at least two occasions I received a letter from the AG's office telling me that a statewide "Cease and Desist" order had been issued against the offenders!  Made me feel good!
I highly recommend doing the same!  I'll provide more details on how I do it to anyone who's interested in knowing!  I have even called the AG's office and spoke to an agent regarding some of them!  I feel that anything I can doo to make it easier for them (the AG's office) will help all of us who constantly receive these harassing calls, which, IMO, is a direct invasion of my privacy!

Caller ID indicates L J Bay Area. I pick the call up but nothing for several seconds then the line goes dead.

how did you do that?

If your using a Samsung phone go to your main phonwe icon and open the menu. Look for call log. If number appears press the number and hold it down until a sub menu appears. One of the choices will be reject the number or some sort of blocking message. Select it and save. Done.
