VERIFACTS is a company that gathers personal info about you, especially your employer & current address.  they work on behalf of collection agencies who want to take you to court. what I want to know is do they have permissible purpose to pull your credit reports & relay that info to a 3rd party?  are they violating privacy laws?

Received a call this morning on my job pretty much the same as all the other stories.  They wanted to know if I had full-time employment this question was asked to one of my co-worker who gave the phone to me.  This has to be illegal will be contacting the Attorney General's office for the State of Michigan to file a complaint.

They called me with a Verification of Employment request for someone with whom I had done business but had never been an employee. They provided a SSN, but I have not idea if it was accurate or not. (Do you know your plumber's social?)

Suspecting a scam, I instructed them to send me a written request with an authorization of my "employee" before I could verify if that individual works here or not. I never heard from them since.

They just did the same thing to me

Received a call from this number. I was asked to verify some personal information about myself.

A female called my employee asking questions and wanting to verify my social security number, when I got on the phone, she hung up on me. 815-380-9533

Called my place of Business to verify Employment

just got a call at my job which i only started 2 months ago and have not listed ANYWHERE?? they asked me my name and birthday and i told them i dont feel comfortable answering any questions when i don't know what it is about, she said she just wants to update my info and asked again if my birthday was ** ** and i told her it didn't matter, this is my job and she should not call me on this number ever ! she said ok and sorry and hung uo !! WEIRD !!

I get calls from them about 1 or two times a week. I work in HR and I always tell them the same thing before they launch into their talk. "Per company policy I can only verify employment information with a signed consent form from the employee." They say they are a third party and cannot provide me with that info and I still them I cannot verify anything. I won't even verify our corporate address. The woman I spoke to on several occasions said her name is Addison and calls from 800-542-7434 ext 676.

Moral of the story, if they are a legitimate company looking to verify employment for a credit check they will have a signed consent form from the individual. If they cannot furnish it then provide no information.

They called my old job asking old co workers if they knew my ssn date of birth and middle name.

Veri Facts called left a message & we use used Google Maps & found it is an actual Company with sign & all but will follow up tomorrow to see & update.  Shows that they help with more than basic backgrounds & few things to bring better employees to service.

Upset called at work asking about my information. Called again at home annoying calls I don't have any business in Illinois I just want It to stop

Got a call at work from Sabien at Verifacts asking to verify my employment, work address and full time. Totally confused by this. Gave him the info and hung up. Hope it amounts to nothing.
