Calling a CitiBank and asking for a payment. This is a scam. I've been called twice today

6 mos after getting the initial calls, I've received 3 calls from this number today. After my near gullibility last time, I refuse to pick up.

GUYS THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT PICK UP. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFO!!!!

I called citibank last time about this. after a major run around, i reported it to a woman who actually took all the info. They said they NEVER ask you for your SSN if THEY CALL YOU. And even if you call citibank and they ask for it, you are allowed to give only the last 4 digits or another code word.

I dont' know what else to do actually. This is a major scam that I'm not sure who to report to and get this rolling. Maybe the Consumer Watchdog type place (legit). This place needs to GET SHUT DOWN. How can so many people report this number and the problems, and nothing happens???

I'm looking into it, but Citibank should be the ones who should be most concerned. It's tarnishing their image and quite honestly, I can't wait to get my money out of citibank so I know FOR SURE that i have no business dealings with them.

Oh and another thing.. this is EXTREMELY convincing! They asked confirmation questions like.. This is [my name here], yes? (they have the name correct)

IF YOU MUST, CALL CITIBANK from BACK of your OWN CARD and ask if there are any issues.

two calls:
Call1: missed; message left, only two beeps heard
Call2: answered; no one on the other line,  then the phone hangs up

It is citi cards, I answered the number and it was just a reminder about my overdue bill.

Sometimes people use your number when getting an account, it happens. But it is not a scam from their part, just extremely annoying.

4 calls during last 24 hours.  Who is this?  Added to my saved "Do not answer" list #2 on phone

I have received about 5 calls in Spanish with a wierd tone afterwards then a hangup.

We received call from this number at 8am, 10am, and 12 noon today. I didn't answer at all. It's annoying, they never leave voice mail.

You're way off... this is ligitimate. I've been late paying and have successfully processes payment with the operator on the line. Don't know why you think its a scam (although I was never asked for pin # or ssn).

I was suspicious about this, but decided to call back. After many incisive questions, and courteous responses, decided to log into my Citi account. I truly had a past due bill.

Good thing that I didn't ignore this call.

I have recieved 13 calls from this number, they suck...I wan tit to stop.

We had a credit card through them and paid if off, and cancelled the account. We received the acknowledgement letter that the account was indeed closed. Then this week this same name shows up on caller ID several times a day. No messages left, and only a recording about calling them about our account when we answer the phone. THIS IS A SCAM! Do not give them any information!

Called about 5 times... once every 2 hours.  Funny sounds, similar to a fax machine but not a fax machine.  Annoying!

If this was reall Citibank collections...where is the toll-free number?  If people are late on their credit-card payments, why would they call a toll-number?
