- chris replies to Paul| 2 repliesThese are scams. If Citi is calling, they will tell you which account it is about, and won't care about your password. Regardless, you should call the number on your card and ask. If you're late, the folks answering there will know.
- JenGot four calls and finally looked the number up and realized that it was Citi and that I did in fact double pay last month on the wrong card and they were looking for payment. They worked with me and we got it all straightened out!
- Irritated in Michigan replies to Paul| 3 repliesCitiBank SUCKS! I can't wait until they receive my final payment this week because I'm done with them. I don't know how they think they are successful in this business. They irritate the hell out of you and expect to keep you as a customer. I can't wait to be done with them. They're ridiculous! I've been on-time - even ahead of time and I still get badgered by the 904 number AND the 816 number. WHAT IS THEIR PROBLEM????
- joyce replies to Irritated in Michigan| 2 repliesit seems like everytime I make a payment to them, they call and they call non stop, I cant wait until I can get caught up...
- kespinosaGot a call at 8 am and again at 11 am...no message
- LaurenIt's from CitiCredit Cards. I got 2 calls and didn't answer them. They don't leave a message...as everyone has already said!
They called again today and I answered. It was an automated recording saying that I was past due with a payment and proceeded to give me choices to pay over the phone.- Caller: CitiBank credit cards
- Call type: Event reminder
- jtGot a call from this number no message unknown who is trying to call.
- KI'm not sure why there are discrepancies among you all. I've received dozens of calls from this number with no message, then when I call back it says "Citi cards and At&T cards, please input your account number"...I called the REAL 800 number for Citi and they said this 816 number IS a scam and not to provide them with my account number...the problem now is simply receiving too many calls from these phishers and scammers...not sure how long the "do not call registry" takes to start working or if it even applies to these people.
- Caller: Claims to be Citi
- Call type: Valid
- KI bet you the postings on this website that say this number is OK and totally legitimate were actually typed by the scammers themselves just to help their cause along.....pretty smart actually. Anyway, they're scammers, so please ignore the postings that say they are legitimate. Citi said they weren't.

- fred replies to joyce| 1 replyI don't even have an account with citibank and they keep calling!!! IT must be some kind of scam.
- Richard PestellDo not know why these people are calling me.
- JackGot several calls from this number as well. Gave all the bank information. Went home and told wife about it. She got mad at me and said how can her husband be such an idiot. Call citi 1800# on the back of the credit card. Glad to find out it is Citi.
- Caller: Citi
- Fed UpI keep getting calls from 816-420-4003 at all weird times when no typical credit company is available. I call it back and get a busy signal then when I do pick up I get a recording telling me to stay on the line then it hangs up on me. Finally after two months of these non stop calls they leave a message an actual person trying to sound like a recording and claim they are citi card and gave me a number to call back on (866-444-4986)and that they are available from 7am-midnight. ya okay like I'm going to believe that any customer service department is open between those hours. So I called BBB and reported both numbers which are not registered numbers for Citi they said and that they have had other complaints and they are in contact with the FBI and investigating these further. So Do Not answer the phone, call the citi numbers on Citi's website instead.
- Caller: SCAMMERS
- Allie replies to Marjorie| 2 repliesIt definitely is Citibank. For the last three days I have been getting calls, from almost a different state everyday. Whenever I would answer, no one would say anything on the other side. I started to get paranoid, so today I decided to look this number up online. I saw all your comments about Citibank and low and behold, I have one as well. I called Citibank and it turns out that my bill is a few days late. My husband was late getting the bill out. This is the first time I had trouble with them, so I guess the moral of the story is pay your bill on time & there will be no issue!! (At least in most cases)
- CAReceived 7 calls from this number today. Most recently an automated voicemail was left identifying itself as from citicards, and instructing me to call a different number 800-298-6395 and enter a 6-digit code for an alert regarding my account.
The automated voicemail had my correct name, and I do have a card from citibank. I called the other number which also identified itself as citibank, but hung up when it asked for my zip code.
It seems sketchy because I know my payment is current and they usually send service updates through the mail. - DO Not Call Site does not work replies to HawkeyeWhen you are up for collection the Do not Call site does not apply. You are a customer and you owe money. They are allowed to call but not allowed to harass you.
Say the following "Today is (the date) the time is (the time) you call is being acknowledged, please do not call here again" Should they continue to call it is harrassment and you can file a complaint with your state attorney generals office. - MBI dont know if it Citi or not. They should not ask you for information when they call. They shlould tell you information. If they already know it there is nothing for you to tell them. Don't confirm it just say "I don;t acknowledge ro confirm sesitive information on the phone" Particulularly when the call is made to me. Remember thay called you. Thay call could be from anybody so don;t confirm or give information such as mailing address, SS no. d/date. Call your bank and then you know you have who you want to confirm the information to.
