So many negative comments you'd think the Malls who promote fake giveaways would care about their reputations and the customers overall shopping experiance. You can't walk by these boths without getting a bogus pitch. And by the way I did fill out one of their contest forms, but what they had in the mall was a 2013 Ford Focus,( I guess I'm just attracked to shiny objects). I Didn't sign up for a Mercedes Benz. I woud'nt have been able to afford the taxes on a car like that anyway. (Its the old Bait and Switch). As long as I can remember there has always been something like this in the malls I visited growing up. Well, if you've been around long enough...."If it sounds to good to be true"..well we do know the rest.

Think is from when I went to see the Texas Rangers couple of weeks ago.  I wanted a Texas Terrible Towel and you had to fill out some form.  Being 817 and Ft Worth sure it is a telemarketer.  I have put them on my
black list so they will not get thru anymore..  HA HA jokes on them!!!!  Got the towel

I had been receiving calls from this number as well as a few other numbers with the same area code for a few weeks. They would not bother to leave a msg but would call as many as 10 times a day. I thought the calls would stop if I just stuck it out and they'd move on. Finally I got fed up and answered the call; it was a telemarketer from for Silver Leaf Resorts at "Hill Country Resort" near Canyon Lake. He explained to me that I had won a choice between a Mercedez Benz, BMW, $49,000 cash, or my choice of trips, including a $1,500 shopping spree or $500.00 cash. He had went on to say that this was due to me filling out a form at the River City Rock Fest concert in San Antonio for a chance to win a Ford truck; big difference from the foo foo cars he was telling me about and the truck I would of liked to have won. Anyway, so he told me that I had actually won the prize so I was guaranteed one of the above mentioned prizes. I wasn't buying it but I was curious. I listened to him give his pitch about trying to schedule a day for me to stop by and let them talk to me about their Resort (Timeshare). I continued to quiz him about the "guaranteed prizes" and he basically told me I could walk away with one of the prizes if I just scheduled a day to come by. I bit, so he transfered me over to "Vacation Represntative" who went over the detatils of me stopping by for the 90 minute Timeshare pitch, and she had given me a 1-800 number (1-800-720-5621) to re-schedule our appointment if need be.  After we had ended the call I Googled Siver Leaf Resorts and located the "Hill Country" resort which was represented. I called the main line to the Resort and spoke with an actual employee who told me that the call was from their Marketing Department. I asked her several questions and she seemed like she did'nt know too much about their marketing tactics but was willing to have me speak with one of her managers in the sales department there at theTimeshare Resort. She also provided me with the same 1-800 number that I was given from the "Vacation Rep", if I had any other questions. So there it is! It's a Contracted Telemarketing Department that takes the information we put down on those little forms to try and win a prize.  I wont be filling out anymore of those again.

I too have been getting at least two or three calls a day on my cell phone - in Massachusetts (I certainly haven't been to a Texas Rangers game...).  I've blocked the number on my cell phone account.
