get lots of calls from this number.Call ID says Harris direct.
I never answer just let the machine pick up another scam

I was worried that I had just been scammed as I got a call from Harris Direct (on caller ID) with that number. I checked with World Wildlife Fund directly however and they indicated that it was on the up and up.

Hopefully it was ok !

Same deal here everyday for about two weeks, I work nights so I just never bothered until today. Being local law enforcement if it continues after their initial verbal warning and emailed warning I will follow up with Harassing Phone Call Charges.

Calls several times a day.  Caller ID displays as "M Harris", but - as identified by others - it is Harris Direct, a solicitor for Doctors Without Borders.  Although we have placed our phone number on the DO NOT CALL registry, this apparently does not prevent non-profit organizations from continuing to solicit.

The first time they called then hung up. The second time they asked for the lady of the house and when I said she wasn't there they said they would call back. I called them back and I was told i could be taken off their calling list if i stated my zip code and phone number clearly after the beep. I did.

As usual for this type of call, when I answered there was a two second delay before a male responded to my "Hello" with a tentative "Hello". I hung up. Hey, if you don't know my name, forget it. I get these kinds of calls ( found by looking up the phone number on sites like this one) every so often. I have added Qwest's blocking service. It works and I am only annoyed on the first call. I will report them to the Do Not Call Registry, but I think that organization never investigates these numbers. Just look at the history of this number; it has been used for a long time, some of them for years!

Do not stop supporting the valued charities this predatory marketing firm CLAIMS to represent just because they are harassing you.  This marketing group is in clear violation of the FTC rules on telemarketing, as many people report having informed them they may not call and yet they continue to call. (They show up on my caller ID as Harris M),  LODGE YOUR COMPLAINTS AT www.donotcall.gov.  Enough complaints about this number (818-591-8391) will result in legal action against these jerks.  Lodge a complaint w/ donotcall.gov every time these jerks call, and in your comments about the complaint make it clear when you asked them to stop calling and how many times they have continued to call.  Let's get them off all our backs!

"file a complaint" link is on the left toward the top of the list.  If you're not confident the FTC will do anything to them (donotcall.gov), then bring the BBB down on them!

I've received probably 10 calls in the last 3 months from this number.

I decided to pick up the phone, rather than send it to voicemail again.

It's been fun recently to spend a few moment to figure out who these repetitive callers actually are.

I picked up this time to find a Democratic party call referencing the current (Oct 2009) push for health care.

An admittedly inexperienced volunteer-type person (ie: not the normal wack-o script-based sales persons you usually have to put up with when you pick up these calls) asked me for a contribution based upon my past membership in the Democratic party.

She knew I was an expired party member, and asked for either a re-up on membership, or a participation in the current project.

Not a particularly hard sell at all, and I wouldn't rate it as a bad experience to listen to the 20 second message she went through, and then say "no thanks, I can't do it now".

Based upon my further conversation with her, which rambled on for quite some time, and was fun...

These volunteers are calling numbers sent to them via a central switching website.  A lot of them are using Skype or VOIP numbers that don't require them to pay for each call.  

The person who called me was quite exuberant about what she was into, and it was actually quite fun to chat with her about the current political scene, and our individual perpectives on it.

It's an easy out to say "no thank you" and have them put you on the don't call list.

They also have other options, including remaining on the mailing or emailing lists you are probably already on.

These guys have been calling for quite sometime for me, and I'm actually glad I picked up this time to get off the list in an easy fashion.

If they don't actually take me off the list, I will be back to submit another message at that time.

Received call at NJ land line; left no message

Calls all the time. Hang ups. I don't even know who they are. I'm on the opt out list. Their number is 818-591-8391.

They call repeatedly and do not leave a message

I get calls from this number multiple times a day, every day.  I am on a do not call list.  My screening info says Harris Direct.  A reverse address website does not list their name, but says that they're located in St. Gregoire, qc, QC (Quebec?)

I've had three calls from the number this week, and my number is also on the Do not call registry. I haven't answered, they don't leave messages.

You know, I did donate to Drs w/out borders ONCE and have been flooded with letters, calls-some were very aggressive.  I told them I would never donate again, too, because they would not take NO for an answer.  Rude!!!
