- Haidenx replies to LindsayGot a call from this number, said they were Avante. What I found strange was that normally debt collectors would say "this is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose". They didn't say that nor did they say what the debt was for. Doing more research on this Avante but I think it's a scam

- Robin Hinnant replies to LKG2670Email me at my first and last name @ gmail.com and give me a piece of your mind jerk. You have no idea what circumstances lie under a situation like this and to list my name on a public board is really disrespectful. It's not like I gave anyone your phone number and it is not my fault they got the number wrong. Email me and tell me who the creditor was and I will track them down to see what it is about. Turn me in? WTF? Have you ever heard of blocking a number?
- RaeGot a call from this company but the woman on the line was hard to understand. Said her name was Miss somethingoranother and it was important I return her all today.
I've been getting these calls for months. The calls stopped for about a week earlier this month and started back up.- Caller: Unknown
- JR in CoCalled today looking for someone whom I have received numerous calls for. This was "Ms Lewis" and she said she was given this number as a contact for "Brittany". Told her she had a wrong number. Caller ID comes through as just "Texas".

- JSo today I got a call from Regina, I called back after googling I was a little nervous but she was actually really nice and I thought I had all my medical debt paid off but I had moved right after and must not have received one of the doctors bills. They called and settled with me for 50% of what was owed and before it hit my credit. I found her to have a lot of info about the account and not rude at all. I mean I owed it so had to take responsiblity for it.

- JpetRecieved several nasty voicemails from them but when i originally recieved the calls i answered twice and had nothing but silence so i quit answering. I called back once and they did not aknowledge my name their company or even a physical address so i could not even validate this supposed company even exists. It is ridiculous and ignorant to say the very least.

- Rachel| 2 repliesJust got a call from them and they claimed they were something USA, I couldn't make out the first part of it. They're out of Houston and they claim I have an unsettled debt which I have paid off many times. I told him "If you send me the paper work I'd be happy to settle the debt." He tells me he's a collection agency and he can't send me paperwork. I told him "No, I've gotten paper work from other collection agencies, and we've paid this bill off according to that paperwork. I know how it works, they sell the debt to collection agencies who sell it to other agencies and you end up paying multiple times for the same debt. Each time, though, I've gotten paper documents." He continued to tell me he couldn't give me paper documents and I told him, "No, you can. If you can't give me paper documents you're not for real and I'm not paying it." He tries to interrupt me multiple times as I'm explaining this and says I'm talking over him when he's trying to talk over me, so I told him I wasn't going to pay and I hung up.

- Rachel replies to RachelFollowup: I suggest calling the person you owed the debt to originally. They can tell you who they sold the debt to so you can make sure you're paying the right people.
- Resident47 replies to Beverly GarnerMs. Garner, Ms. Keplinger: Your callers do not maintain this site or this web page. Your callers cannot magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments. You will not get compliance with your orders until you deliver them *directly* to your caller. It is unwise to publish a phone number you meant to protect in an open forum where any data harvester and scammer can find it.
- Resident47 replies to Rachel"... make sure you're paying the right people."
"The right people" are long gone from the scene by the time an aged debt is sold to a junk debt buyer. The original creditor has soaked you for all it ever hopes to get and claimed the full face amount of that debt as a loss besides.
"debt which I have paid off many times"
No wonder you keep getting JDB calls. They know what a pigeon you are, willing to pay the SAME ACCOUNT over and over while never once questioning that you even owed once! Good Gravy! Guess what, a debt in the hands of a JDB means pure profit. NO ONE benefits from your payment except for grade school dropouts earning commissions and their bosses who are living in McMansions off YOUR BACK.
You only "end up paying multiple times for the same debt" if you ALLOW that to happen! You don't want mere "paperwork", which could be some flimsy sheet saying "Youse owes dis moneys" .... You want proof of your liability from the original creditor, proof that the debt buyer really owns the account, proof that the collector is licensed and/or bonded, and much more that the typical junk debt collector cannot provide. Stop reaching into your purse and start raising disputes when these vultures come calling. - Fidal replies to Kim Smith| 2 repliesThat is right, Kim. Go for it, and report to everybody that you can. We both are sailing in the same boat. This is supposed to be the Government's job to protect citizens from going through the pain like this, and hold Avante accountable.
- Fed upI wish i cold meet the management of this company so i could shove something up their ............ I have received the same message on numerous occasions and each time i talk to them they say my number is not in their system. Which leads to the obvious question "Why do i keep getting a call on a number that you say does not exist in your system?" To which they have no answer, and when i asked to speak with a supervisor i got a voicemail. GGGGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
