I repeatedly get calls from the number (832) 476-1739. I've never even done business with this place or anything related to it. It is really getting annoying.

They have called several times - I answered twice, just to get disconnected.  Have no idea what they want - have had the same # for the past 6 years.

they keep calling and hanging up, I don't need them calling me.

I have had these jerks calling me asking for a Kim and when I told him for the thrid time that there was no Kim living here,he kept calling me Kim,saying that I had given him the number to begin with!he never even told me his name,I finally had to get really rude with him and he hasn't called back since.

everytime this number calls me - they just hang up and never even say anything

left a message on my work phone saying that it was Imperative that I return the call if I did not then they would "assume that no reply is your reply." Who are these people?

This Company Avante is completely rude, crass and unprofessional.  They threatened that they would garnish my dead mother's wages as well as mine if I didn't pay a bill that they wouldn't even tell me about. What kind of idiotic company is this and why do they even think that they have any right to harrass people when they don't even have their information straight.  Dipsh$@#!

These people called my  husband looking for his ex-mother in-law,
when he told them he hadn't talked to her in more then % years they got very rude and hateful so he just told them if they called our home again that would report them to the BBB in Houston, TX. were the company is based and he would contact a lawyer on harrasment charges !!! (oh and if you look up people finders on the net and put their # in it will tell you that it is a residental # !)

They have called my phone # several times, always with a hang up- the company is called AVANTE- I looked it up online and it is in Texas..if in fact, it is a collection company, it is not a reputable one because I have no overdue bills of any kind, including my credit cards.  Most of the time, they hang up because I won't answer calls that don't have any caller id. I called my local telephone company and they told me to call the federal trade commission to stop the harassing calls.  The strange thing is that the numbers that constantly do this are all of the numbers that I find on Google that call and harass others. The worst beign the energy companies that yell at you!  Amazing creeps out there today!

Fax them a letter and tell them to stop contacting you.  Its call the Fair Debt collection act.

How may a debt collector contact you?
A collector may contact you in person, by mail, telephone, telegram, or fax. However, a debt collector may not contact you at inconvenient times or places, such as before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m., unless you agree. A debt collector also may not contact you at work if the collector knows that your employer disapproves of such contacts.

Can you stop a debt collector from contacting you?
You can stop a debt collector from contacting you by writing a letter to the collector telling them to stop. Once the collector receives your letter, they may not contact you again except to say there will be no further contact or to notify you that the debt collector or the creditor intends to take some specific action. May a debt collector contact anyone else about your debt?
If you have an attorney, the debt collector must contact the attorney, rather than you. Collectors usually are prohibited from contacting such third parties more than once. In most cases, the collector may not tell anyone other than you and your attorney that you owe money.

Called very rudely and started asking for everyone in my family.  Would not give reason why.  They need to be put on a leash, hard enough to survive without being harrased about someone else's debts.

I have sorted out how this happens and I hope you all will listen.

They had my private, unlisted number calling me regarding my mother. The only time she has ever listed me as a credit reference was when she refinanced her truck recently with a LOCAL CREDIT UNION.

Today, approximately 3 hours ago, my Mother received a phone call frm the credit union. They found out that she recently lost her job and wanted to interrogate her about how she would be able to make her truck payments. She has enough funds to do so, but they are NOT in the credit union's account because she has had problems with funds turning up missing there in the past and now uses a bank account.

So, my mother told them that they'd have to wait until her payment was due and they'd then see how well she paid the bills. In return, they gave out OUR personal information from her credit reference, and sicced this Avante company on us. Of course, they think that I'm her sister, so they keep calling saying they are in pre-legal status and want her phone number or she'll come to harm. I told them, in blatant words, to **** off. Then I told them that if they want to get her number they'll need to do more than "pre-legal" things and can get her number another way. LEGALLY.

So, it's your credit union that is selling your information to these people, even if you are making your bills. Keep an eye out, never use a credit union.

By the way, she is not late on her payment, the word just got out locally that she was fired, nothing more. How rude.

I NEVER answer the phone unless I know who it is.  Then again. . . even then I don't answer.  I have my fair share of creditors.  There are laws in EVERY state that say they are NOT allowed to call before 9am and no later than 9 pm and NOT during dinner time between 6-7.  If you say you are having dinner, they HAVE to hang up.  I have only once talked to these poor excuse for humans.  yes, not company, humans.  Cause they choose to act like this to people.  I would love to pay off the people I owe.  But with 2 back surgeries in 1 year on the same spot, a pregnancy, and a miscarriage after just dealing with everything that happened in Louisiana in 05 still trying to catch up, I told them to kiss my cajun as* after a long long long discussion after telling them I will make payments.  That wasn't good enough for them even though it was a 20 every 2 week payment.  even after I asked so If I send you a check for 20 you'd send it back knowing that if you do you'd prove I owe nothing to you and get it null and voided right?  Or shoudl I just take you to court now.  then I blocked their number.  Haven't heard from them since.  My favorite part of the conversation was when he asked if I had life insurance.  Well, being curious I asked why?  He said during my surgery if I would have died they could have been paid and my family better off. . . nice huh?

They've been calling my house for 3 months. Today is the first time anyone has left a message for someone I don't even know.  So if they call again, I'll tell them it's a wrong number and start loggin the number of times they call from then on out and make a BBB and local police department complaint for harassment.  I hope someone in thier company takes the time to read this website.

Hi all Just seen you post and this company is now using a diffent name ,, i never answer but they do leave a meassage ..

They called MY friend looking for my fiance and said he had given them the number in case they lost touch with them. He has never heard of these people before and when I called back to find out what it was about they would give me NO info just wanted a number for him so I gave them an old one! I know he never gave the number out to anyone except for a job referance.

We received a voice mail today from this number. They have consistenly left messages for another person. They give a case number and insist the person needs to call them back immediately regarding this urgent matter. I called and told them they were calling the wrong number. The gentleman I spoke to told me he would remove the number. After reading everyone's comments, I'm not so sure he will.
