Have been getting calls from 832-476-1739 several times a week, for over a year now. Each time they ("Avante"<==the name that shows up on caller ID) call, I advise them, "there is no N. Leach at this number and I do not KNow N. Leach and I told them when I first got the number, that I just got this number". And Still CALL after CALL WEEK After Week, Month after Month , now over a year......
I have now told "Sarah" the rep for the company, again today ......remove this number and she states, "Well, do you know why N. Leach is giving this number out".... To justify their company calling contsly.
Again, I told her and others there several times DO NOT CALL, I DO NOT KNOW THIS PERSON.... Have never know this person, and Do not know who this person is......... REMOVER ME FROM WHAT EVER LIST YOU HAVE & ALL THE LIST YOUR HAVE......
You can't be surprised that a person would get upset about the calls after a year of calling and several notices to your company, stating the person is unknown to us........


Colletion comps. are trying to collect debts in ways that are intrusive to others and annoing.

HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU, I DO NOT KNOW THIS PERSON AND TO STOPPPP CALLING ME.....

My Next step is to report your company to the D.A., PHONE COMPANY and/or NEWS including EVERY WEBSTIE I CAN GET MY HANDS ON.......

calling asking for a gina... very rude on the answering machine, i have not called back... i am going to write them a "cease and desist until proof is provided" letter

This company seems to be one of a number of new collection agencies that have popped up due to the large increase in defaults on mortage and credit card accounts.  These companies buy bad debt for pennies on the dollar and use less than reputable practices to collect them.  I have talked to a few people that have tried all the standard cease and decist type letters with little or no success.  They simply plan to harrass as many people on the list as possible in the hopes that they will eventually give in.  There are a few listings of similiar companys being sued with success.  My guess is that they have crunched the numbers and figured that the math works out in their favor because most people lack the desire or the finances to fight them properly.  Sadly, they are persistant and nasty.  If you do have an old debt, paying them does little to help your credit score.  IMHO, any contact with them just gives them more ammunition.  If they are calling you in error, I would consider some legal action if the harrassement is causing you too much stress.

calls my place of business.SAYS THE COMPANY NAME IS AVANTE. has been asked repeatedly to call a different number. swears they don't have an alternate number. said he talked to me last month then said it wasn't him, but he was reading notes in a system. calling to collect on something from "Quick Payday" ?? beats me. anyway. will send them a notice to cease all tele-communication on all accounts affilliated with my name.
in case you don't know it, collection agencies buy your old debt from whomever you once owed it to for pennies on the dollar. If you refuse to give in to their tactics, they'll eventually sell your account again for even less. they will threaten you with credit scores, unfortunately, if you really owe the debt they're calling you about, it doesn't really matter what they do to your credit. don't give in and whatever you do don't give them your credit card or bank account information. if you do decide to deal with them and pay your account you should insist on written agreement up front from them and then only send payment by mail via money order. BEWARE! COLLECTION COMPANIES MAY COLLECT LEGITIMATE DEBTS, BUT THEY ARE OFTEN HARRASSING AND LOW. I'VE NEVER SEEN ANY THAT WEREN'T THE SCUM OF THE EARTH.

Called my place of business, which by the way, only one person has because I am not allowed calls.  So, needless to say I don't know how they got the number.  I called them back leaving a message for Tiffany stating that I do no know their company, never heard of them, do not have any outstanding debts and to NOT call my place of employment as I did get in trouble.  She called my number back and left me a message stating that I should call to confirm my SSN. I will not and would not call and give my SSN# to anyone.  She would not disclose to me what the nature of the call was about.

Guy called saying he was from DAVANTE USA....calls several times a day, asking for someone that i don't even know. I told him stop calling, but still continues to harass.

I got a phone call from a man named Mr. Bradford.. telling me "I have a very serious situation that was placed here for you and I need you to call me back as soon as possible"

I keep getting calles from 832-476-1739.  Never the same person, the last one was Michael.  When I do talk to them I tell them the same thang I have told other collection agencies, that the credit card debt was written off by the credit card company.  I am pretty sure I got a 1099 showing this in 2006.  They get rude and I hang up.  They just will not take NO for a answer.

OMG the same thing happen to me I have no idea who are these people and why they're calling. I just left them a message in their voicemail asking them to remove me from the calling list - hope that works.

I wish these calls to stop they don't identify themselves all they do is leave unclear messages never leave their name just the number.  When i call no one seems to be around - left message on their voice mail with my name and phone number and told them to stop calling my house.

1) Tell the collection agent that you will not deal with them on the phone, and send them a short note telling them NOT to call you any longer. They can only send you snail-mail after that.

2) They cannot threaten you in any way. Make certain to document the calls and what the person said and who (it's an alias) it was on the phone.

3) Check the statute of limitations  in your state for debts.

4) Tell the agent calling you want proof of the debt, i.e,, signed documents showing you are the owner of the account, and other items proving that this account is yours. You also want to know the year of the debt. (that goes with number 3).

5) So many people are in the same place as you....I am in that situation myself, but this book really helped me understand the laws of debt collection. Remember, that person on the other end is trying to keep their job by getting money out of you. They do not care about your problems; some will make you think this way.....by being sympathetic...but do not fall for it. It is not even their real name they are using.

I have received two calls from this number on my cell phone.  I don't answer it and they leave a message that leaves a case# and that I need to call them immediately.  Apparently, they only employ ignorant people because the second message I got from a guy that spoke so fast I couldn't even figure out what his name was.  I think I will file a complaint on these folks.  Glad I never called them back.

they were actually quite friendly.

I have no idea who these people are. I have returned the call to the number left on a message but never get to talk to a live person. I don't want any more calls.

this is a debt collector they are so demanding we tried to negotiate to pay some amount but they dont want to..so we just ignore them for a while now then now they calling back dont they know its hard on us to pay right away yes we spend the money on bills but when time to pay we just got short on our budget but we are willing to pay and to negotiate again on payment...

This woman called me tonite right before 9PM, when my baby was asleep. I Answered the phone and said don't call here again. The lady " I didn't give her a chance to give her name" said that's not nessesary and I told her not to call back gain and she assured me she would call back tomorrow nite. She was looking for my husband who at the time was not here. I called back to see who they were and the guy would not tell me or give me any info. Amanda, please e-mail me back. My husband got a call from these idiots tonite and they assured me they would call back. We bank with a credit union. Why would they give out our info if we are in good standing.
