Was lying in bed last night and heard my phone ring, decided not to answer.  I'm glad I didn't, because apparently it was these scammers.

Missed a call on my cell phone 8:02 pm EST - looks like I'm glad I missed it

MY MOTHER KEEPS GETTING CALL FROM 843-844-6884 TELLING HER THAT HER VISA CARD HAS BEEN DEACTIVED ???   SHE IS 90 YEARS OLD DOES NOT HAVE A VISA CRAD OR FOR THAT MATTER SHE HAS ZERO  CREDIT CARDS...SHE IS FROM THE OLD SCHOOL....IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE CASH TO PAY FOR SOMETHING ...YOU DON'T CHARGE IT....YOU SAVE UP UNTIL YOU HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR IT...!!   SHE HAS PUSHED EVERY BUTTON THEY ASK FOR  AND THE GOOD JUST HANG UP ...BUT WE ARE GETTING VERY TIREDOF THESE CALLS...... KEEPS GETTING THESE CALLS EVERYDAY....CAN'T GET ANYONE AT THAT NUMBER TO ANSWER  MY CALLS THEY  JUST PUT ME ON HOLD AND KEEP PLAYING ELEVATOR MUSIC....WITH ABOUT EVERY MINUTE  A RECORDED VOICE COMES ON AND SAYS  THAT I'M NUMBER 1 NEXT IN LINE TO TALK WITH THEIR REP. & THAT MY CALL IS VERY IMPORTANT ...REALLY NOW !  wELL IF MY CALL IS THAT IMPORTANT TO THEM THEN ANSWER YOUR PHONE..AND JUST LET ME TELL YOU WHAT I  THINK OF YOU VERY *#!!?** CALLS

This is such a scam if number comes up don't bother to answer

Recieved a call from this number on my cell phone. It said my visa card was locked and to call an 800 number to reinstate it.

RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AT 2100 HRS 03-16-10. THE ROBOT VOICE ATATED THAT MY VISA DEBIT CARD HAD A SECURITY ISSUE AND THE USE OF IT HAS BEEN STOPPED.
I DON'T HAVE A DEBIT CARD. I HAD THE CALL TRACED AND IT CAME BACK TO MERCHANT COOPERATIVE 668 MARINA DRIVE SUITE B3  WANDO, S.C. 29492-7928
THIS IS A TELEPHONE SCAM!
I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION FOR ACTION!!

I just got a call from this number too saying my Visa card has been canceled or something like that.  It seemed phishy.  If there was suspected fradulent charges on a credit card, an actual person should've called not a recording!

I had just paid my bill with my debit card in a restaurant, and had juct got back my  card when my cell phone rang, and an electronic voice told me that my card was being frozen, and that I needed to give them the information on it, if I wanted to use it.  I had just received my bill!  I thoght O God what is wrong, and made the mistake of giving them the info, but not my pin, as soon as I hung up, I realized something wasn't rite, my bank did not have my cell number, so I called my bank imediatly, they checked my account, nothing had been touched, but went ahead and cancelled my card.  Never again.  Someone please catch these scammers.

received same call at 2 Pm on cell phone. Since cell  phone numbers are not suppose to be given out wondering where they got this list from. Could be just random dialing, but would hit all phones not cell phones. Sounds like someone at the Cell phone company may have sold a list. Wondering if all other cell phone calls were Verizon cell phone users?

I just received an automated robot call on my cell phone saying this is such and such a company and my debit card number had been frozen and would not be usable.

DEFINITELY a SCAM, people.  Just for grins, I stayed on the line. They asked me to enter my debit card #, so I entered all 5's.  Then they asked for the expiration date.  I picked 01/10 (that date would mean the card is expired).  They then "verified" my info and told me my card was good to go!  Imagine that...a completely bogus 16 digit #, and an expired date. PLUS...I don't have a visa card of any type.  SCAM!  If you enter your real info, you will be ROBBED!

Oh yeah...forgot to mention it was also my Verizon cell phone.  How fishy...

These people DO NOT have to have your pin# to use your card!!!  All they need is the card # and expiration date!!!  If you have given them ANY INFO, cancel your card at once everyone!!!

I had a very similar incident last night.  I recieved a phone call at 10:45 pm on Friday night (I was asleep becuase I had to work the next morning) and had an automated voice tell me "Your card has been accessed by an unautherized personnel.  Please press 1 for more information, press 2 to turn off your card... I'm pretty sure it was something like this.  As I was asleep, I pressed one button before coming to my senses and hanging up and calling my credit card company.  They told me there was no activity on my card.  The strange thing that makes this incident different, is that my caller ID (on my verizon wireless) said the call came from 419 or 1419.  I didn't even know you could make a call from a 3 digit number.

I am on the national Do Not Call registry. I shouldn't be receiving calls like this. I reported it vis the "File a complaint" page on the registry's web site. I hope you'll do the same. Link is here: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

Just got a call from this number on my cell phone saying my Regional Health Care Debit Card had been canceled. Don't have one and never heard of one. My husband and mother-in-law also received these calls and we are all on the same phone plan. This is a scam and someone is gaining Verizon cell phone information.

Got this call at 6:20 pm central time on March 22, 2010. I never answer weird numbers. I just look them up.

I received a call from this number about a Visa Debit card problem. I do not have any Debit card so this is a Scam for sure!!

I just got a call from (843) 884-6884 requesting my account information to "re-activate" my card.  I use it for travel so I complied.  I called JPMorgan to verify and realized I am a victim of an automated tele-scam.  Never give your account information out.

Not jus Verizon, I have Sprint for my BlackBerry.
