- Kristine| 2 repliesScam! Says Conserve attempting to collect a debt.
- Caller: “Conserve”
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BigA replies to Kristine| 1 replyWell, Conserve is a debt collector with an IRS contract. Unless you talk to them and find out about this alleged debt you cannot say with certainty that it is a scam. Once you do talk to them they have to follow the FDCPA even for IRS debt. I believe that they also collect on student loans and for other businesses as well. If you take the time to read then you will learn a lot about what you need to know as I believe it is in this thread.
- KALGGot a call from this number. No message was left. I don't pick up unless I know the caller. Toll Free Call is not someone I know.

- ML| 1 replyIt was a legit call from a debt collector, did not claim to be from the IRS but they are on the IRS website. However, they were calling for the person who had this number about 5 years ago. Thankfully she took my number off their list to call trying to reach the guy.
- Caller: Conserve
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to MLYou mean that you hope that she took your number off the list of numbers they have for this person don't you?
- DGH replies to BigA| 1 replyI went to link you provided. Yes, they are a private collection agency contracted by IRS, one of four, but you will receive Notice CP40 and Publication 4518 from IRS, then private collection agency sends their initial contact letter. Says nothing about being contacted by phone. And I know for a fact, IRS NEVER contacts you by phone.
- BigA replies to DGHTry not to add things that I never posted. I never said that the IRS contacts you by phone (unless you have called them first and have asked for them to call you back). Also, let's not assume facts not in evidence. Of the people who posted here regarding IRS collections, we don't know if they received a letter previous to the call. We also don't know if the IRS sent those forms. I did not read all the posts but I don't see any mention of them. That does not mean that it did not occur. Also please note that what you posted has been posted several times in this thread already. So I have to wonder why you singled out my post from 3 years ago. Why not some of the other newer posts?
- aggerrvatedAnother IRS SCammer, I've blocked several times so not sure how the calls come through. Blocked again, if they call agian I"m going to be "Mickey" last name "Mousee".. dear Goodness.

Who has time for this? - anderj101"Missed" a call from this number and a voicemail was left. The message states that they are a debt collector and they have "an issue to discuss". The message requested a call back to a different number, +1 844-853-4875. Needless to say, I do not have any issues to discuss with them.
