Nimesh, they maybe contracted to collect an IRS debt but the IRS would have notified you in writing first of such debt. I think most people know if they have outstanding taxes due, also the IRS usually just garnishes a person's wages and let's you know ahead of time as well as your employer! So receiving a phone call with no prior confirmation of debt with the IRS is very suspicious. Just like the Social Security calls I receive from India!

Ok FYI this is a real company and number. The number that they leave in their message for you to call is real and you can find it right on the IRS website. It was another 844 number. I called the number directly from the IRS website so I know that it was not fake. The IRS is using third-party companies to collect debt. They basically said that I owed a debt and that we have been talking. I had no idea what they were talking about. Basically the person that owed them money had the same name as me but they just called a random person with the same first and last name and said you owe us a debt. I can see where we have talked..... Whaaaa You have the wrong person. It was easy to clear up with the last four digits of my social security number and since I know that they are real it was fine they were like okay you're not the right person will take you off the list.

Here it is, almost two and a half years later, from my last posting. They just started calling again. Had no contact since March 7th, 2019. No letters, emails, calls, nothing, until now. This time he could not verify my address, or SSN. I owe nothing to the IRS. Actually got a refund last year.

3rd call from this number. Hangs up after a few rings.

Claiming to collect for IRS. Had only 1st initial of husband. Claimed it was "confidential". Hubby is blind. They claimed they spoke to him in March. I told them I read letters to him per ADA due to blindness. They still claimed he talked to them. I hung up.

They never leave a message. Ever.

Man called my husband saying he’s collecting for the IRS. He owes nothing. The guy asked my husband for the first 5 digits of his S.S.# and that he would provide my husband with my husbands last 4 digits of his own S.S. #. Please make this make sense 🤣. He then asked for a new address and when my husband said to resend a letter that the guy said he already sent to the same address the guy said he can’t do that without verifying the address. Again, make it make sense. Just hang up. They’re so full of sh*t.

Well, Conserve does collect taxes for the IRS.  If you owe taxes then you know that you owe them.
