Your mommy must be so proud of you!  Too bad you are a pathetic SHILL - and to stupid to compose a real sentence! I guess you won't give us the physical address of your workplace, will you??  That would let the authorities know where you are so they could shut your friends down.

So you "assume" we don't pay our bills.  Do you pay YOUR bills?  I doubt it.

What a surprise! Another "Buffalo Buffoon" that lies like a rug! Who do you think you're kidding you CLOWN? Some of us here know more about your bogus line of "work" than YOU DO!
You're a shining example of why the "Buffalo Buffoons" should stop hiring the idiots that respond to their ads. on Craigslist!
    Skeff Ett Liv!

P.S. Oh & BTW. It seems that there may be some confusion about this crew as well. They're probably not "Buffalo Buffoons". They're most likely former "Buffalo Buffoons" who have had to scamper to safer nests. Cowards are like that. Always on the run!

You seem to be making a few unwarranted assumptions here.  First, that folks posting her actually owe valid debts.  Second, that people posting here actually take out PDLs.  Third, that folks posting here think collectors are scum of the earth.

However, there is a vast difference between "accounts receivable professionals" and "boiler room bullies" who work thrice recycled "paper" that is nothing more than a spread sheet purchased from a dubious "debt seller" for a few grand.   These clowns think the FDCPA is merely a few suggestions to be violated at will.  From the consumer complaints in this post, I suspect your outfit is the latter.

These people left me a message saying "it was not an attempt to collect a dept, then described a bogus scenario that I need to respond to before a final decision was made".  I called back and was hung up on 3 times because I was demanding to know who summit receivables is. They were very rude and nasty.

Oh and I don't even owe them, they were trying to reach someone I know. Seems like if you are calling friends or people who "owe". You would wanna be truthful and more respectful. Maybe then ya might actually see your money.

(For informational purposes only) Looks like they have a poor BBB review (but are non-accredited).  If it is the same company, they have 32 closed complaints with  27 closed in the last 12 months.   Most complaints were billing/collection issues.

    Hey Obey,
I would like to offer you a couple of undebiable facts. So grab a pen and paper in order to write them down.
    1)  Debt collectors harass innocent people by calling outdated.
    2) Debt collectors are known for refusing to accept the that they have called a wrong number.

I know these are facts because I have gone through this exact scenario.

Received a completely garbled message from a Ms. Mendoza at Summitt Receivables advising to call them back at this number. Could barely hear or understand one single word that she said. If they are a legitimate type of Collection Agency, they are required to submit notice of the debt in writing.  Nothing has been received from this company to say what it is regarding.  Will not be calling them back.

Y'all like to punish consumers so bad. Pit boss teaches you we're scum of the earth. One of  your neighbors couldn't respect me either. I started at a modest settlement, they laughed at me. They must have spent five times what I asked defending my case ... maybe $400 an hour for their lawyers alone. I made enough to knock off work for months and I bought me the huge new monitor I'm using right now. What they did wasn't half so bad as the garbage you lot serve up. I dream of early retirement off the pimply backs of sloppy goons like you.

So keep thinking we're all too stupid to fight while you mangy collectors keep breaking laws. Thanks for muffling your faint whimpers as I bend you over a rail. Call my house sometime, we'll do lunch. You bring your last spiff check and I'll watch you eat it. That is all!

Read it again. It says "written notice". Phone calls do not constitute written notice.

    Um ...
We seem to have a disagreement as to interpretation.

Note this, particularly the world "written", which means "sent by US Mail", and the omission of the "contained in original communication", here:

Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.

    https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection

The supposed debtor then has up to 30 days to confirm or dispute the debt (as stated in your original citation)

    (b) Disputed debts
If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) of this section that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor,

In ANY case, if the initial phone call does not contain the required information, or if the call demands immediate payment via some untraceable means, the call is probably from a scammer (or, at least, noncompliant).  We should be able to agree on that.

if you get a debtor on the phone, and you disclose this is an attempt to collect debt, any information obtained will be used for that purpose.  this call is being recorded... good afternoon sir, you owe speedy cash 350 dollars from a loan stemming from last year.
thats enough not to warrant a letter to be sent.  why would i send a letter out to someone if they know the debt is valid?  as soon as they say yes i took this out, guess what ?  again no letter is needed to be sent because they verified its owed.

the only time a validation of debt letter is required to be sent is if the debtor is disputing the debt. period...
