- DonI'm not sure why people are saying this is a scam. The number is for Chase Credit Cards. My 15-year-old daughter has been receiving harassing collections calls for a Peggy Galloway for 4 months from this number. I went to the Chase website and called their customer service number, 800-945-2006. I asked for a supervisor in the CC dept. They transferred me to the Credit Card Collections department, and because of the comments here I had that representative confirm that 847-488-3003 is indeed the number for Chase Credit Card Collections.
The Rep was the best I've ever had from Chase. She identified herself as a supervisor, already knew my problem and told me her manager was at the next desk if she could't help me. She located the account and the phone number in about 5 minutes and made the corrections. Now we'll see if my daughter gets any more calls.
In the interest of full disclosure, there is no love lost between me and Chase. Because of their service issues I closed all of my bank accounts with them 2 years ago, and I have had accounts for 12 years with them. Also, they changed my CC due date without notifying me, I paid 1 day late and they jacked my interest rate up to 31.99%. Other than that, I haven't been late in years. I will pay the card off and never have another with them. I say all of this to point out just how helpful this call was.
If you don't trust the number, go to the company website.- Caller: Chase USA Credit Cards

- JThis is a scam. I disn't pick up, but reading this I can verify. I do not have a chase account,or any business with them. There is no reason for them to call me.
- SueThey call me 10 times a day, How do I get them to stop? Who are they and how do I get them to stop?
Never leave message.- Caller: Chase

- VicIt's Chase telling me i am late- duh like i don't know that :D
- HoundedYeah, this call is coming from Chase - subcontracted to a call center in India. They left a message, though difficult to understand due to the language issue. Maybe Chase should rethink their policy of sending jobs over seas. Fewer jobs here, more unemployed, fewer folks able to pay their credit cards bills. Hm,... Bet they never thought that scenario through.
If you're being hounded... Program the number into your cell, then assign a "no ring tone" to the call. All you'll hear is the little beep or whatever, letting you know you've missed a call. But, you won't have to listen to it ring.
They can start calling you at 8 AM and keep calling until 9:00 PM. Oh, and if you do speak with them, don't be fooled into thinking they really are trying to work with you. That's just cause they have the feds looking over their shoulder. They'll run you through the wringer, smiling all the way. So, be careful.- Caller: Chase

- jackb replies to anonymousno it is not chase! I just called them.. my account is in good standing, they have no record of any calls made to me! Do not give any information! It is a scam!
- HuskerpowerYes it is the idiots from Chase. I'm behind about 3 months and about to file for bankruptcy... (Little do they know.... :-) They apparently are called "chase" for a reason. They are now calling the outgoing line at my work place. I must've called them for something or other in the past couple of years and they recorded the #. Unfortunately for me that line is attached to my supervisor's desk which has led to me having some explaining to do.... Hopefully the BK will shut them the hell up........ But yes people it's greedy Chase trying to take your last penny...

- Jack replies to Stevethanks Steve for the info. ..... now if you would please give me the address to mail my complaint I'd be most thankful .... lol
- Taterkay replies to randomguyIt could be that they are holding the check you have sent them until you use their online payment method or you call them with your account number. It happened to me one time all my bills were being paid at the same time however one of my cards would always say I was past due. So I would call and they would say they never received my payment, but would give me 24 hours to either give them my account or use another credit card to pay online. I did the online bit. The following months statement I would have 2 payments on my statement; when I asked them about it they said that it just happened to show up on the same day that I made my other payment that they would not send the money back but keep it as collateral. Let's just say I did not keep that card for too much longer after that.
- SilverwoodI received a call AT WORK from a local number (847-488-3003) - they identified themselves as Chase and asked me to call 800-217-5964. I didn't answer the first call (my voice mail did) and I am not calling the second number. I have no clue who these people are. Please NOTE: Per the Federal Trade Commission, it is federal law that they cannot call you at work once you notify them that you do not want them to call you at work. I try my best to send it via fax in order to have proof. I had one place call me back to tell me off and then found out that there IS such a federal law ... they are lucky I did not turn the tables and sue.
