Had two calls from this number. I did not answer either call, but I dont have a Chase card at all nor did I apply for one. If they want to contact me they can mail me a letter. Until then, I will view their calls as a SCAM.

This number calls me several times per day.  They never leave a message.  When I spoke to Chase, they said they WILL ALWAYS leave a message identifying who they are.  They do not make secret or anonymous phone calls.

Continue to receive unwanted calls from this #. They are NOT decent enough to leave a message. I say SCREW EM! (I wonder how they would like it if I call them at home around dinner time???)

Anybody screaming fraud here is a paranoid a**. This is a legitimate number from Chase who had all of my information (balances, cycle dates, previous contacts, etc), meaning that they would have had to have hacked both my Chase account as well as Chase's internal call documentation software. If they called you and you don't have a Chase card it is because someone who does have a Chase card gave them the wrong number or you have a similar name to someone who does and didn't pay their bill and  they are trying to track them down. If they call, explain that you don't have a Chase card and they will stop calling. Don't go online and piss and moan. Man up and answer the phone and solve your own damn problem.

Ok, if this is actually Chase,  why would the fraud department be calling ME? I have NEVER had a chase CC, nor ANY type of banking relationship with them....

This number is for Chase bank credit cards. they are probably calling because you didn't pay your bill.

I do not have chase never done business in my whole life they constantly call me asking for someone else I have told them they have the wrong number and the call stops for a month then they call me back the next month looking for someone else this has been going on for over a year now wish they would stop seem like a scam to me

This is Chase. I called the number on the back of my card after receiving and not answering the 847 call and found out there have been three fraudulent charges (one for $700) made to my card in the past day. When you call the number on your card, make sure you ask for the Fraud Dept. -- the regular Customer Service agents often are clueless about any fraudulent activity.

It sounds more like you've been off your medication for a while. This is Chase.

It's not Chase bank itself. It's a call center that handles multiples banks. They are a fraud detection center. When I called in they asked me to verify it was a Chase account I was calling about. They also emailed me as well and the number they had me call back to was 800-772-9261. They were calling because I traveled in Europe recently and they wanted to verify that the charges made were indeed mine. Some of you have your tin foil hats on too tight.

I can only tell you that this is a valid Chase Fraud Detection number.  They called on my cell and I did not answer. They left a message concerning a questionable charge on my Chase card. They left the number 800-688-7944 to call back. This was a valid Chase number that was verified by my bank. The agent repeated the questionable charge which was in fact, made by me. I gave no personal information except my name and had them remove my cell phone from their computer and replaced it with my work number. I have heard of them putting a hold on their credit cards if you fail to verify a questionable charge.

JP Morgan Chase calling to check on a possible fraudulent purchase on my credit card.  The charge WAS fraudulent.  Therefore, if you get called from this number, it's probably a good idea to pick up/call back.

I got a call from 847-488-6000 saying there was some unusual activity on my credit card. He asked if i was in possession of my card and starting asking me to verify my DOB and other details. I felt uncomfortable and hung up and called my bank (it's Chase) directly and they said that everything was fine on my card and that they had not tried calling me.

i was suspicious because they called at my work phone and i have my cellphone registered with my bank.

I just received a call from this number.  I do not answer unknown numbers... letting them first go to VM.  Upon receiving that call, and finding the info on this web page, I called Chase's Credit Card department.  Supplied them with my account info and inquired about any concerns they might have or anything that I need to be made aware of.  There was NOTHING for them to report.  No issues.  No late payments; account is in perfect standing.  No fraudulent use or suspected fraudulent use.  No stolen account number list from their systems.  NOTHING.

I then asked if they had any way to determine if a phone number is associated with Chase.  She said, "Yes".  I asked if they had record of any prior contact attempts.  She said, "Yes".  I asked if anyone has tried to contact me recently.  The reply?  "NO.  No record of any contact from us".  I provided the phone number, 847-488-6000 and asked if it was one of Chase's numbers for ANY department or branch.  After placing me on a brief hold, the response came back, "NO, 847-488-6000 is NOT a number associated with Chase".

Lengthy, I know, but several seem to be going back and forth on here and I hope that a more detailed response may be of help and put this to rest.  

847-488-6000 is NOT A CHASE PHONE NUMBER!!!  I've added it to my call blocker.

Caller is Chase Credit Card Services for collection of late payment - they are not the fraud department.  It is a legitimate collections call.

This number is a number for Chase. I received a call and it was from my relationship manager at Chase.

This is not Chase's Fraud Department and whoever tells you it is trying to get you to answer (nice try Chase spammers).  This is collections pure and simple.
