Chase Fraud Department called on a Saturday afternoon. They wanted to verify some activity on my Chase MasterCard.  The problem is that I don't have a Chase MasterCard.  They butchered my name, which is a fairly common name.  The whole thing sounds like BS to me.

I had an issuse with my Chase account that normal support couldn't fix. I was able to contact some higher ups via information found on the internet. This is the number they called me back from that they said they were some executive office. We talked about the issue and they informed me that they were going to look into the issue.

I met the same issue as yours. I have only one credit card which is American Express. I have no idea why Chase keeps calling me.
There are 2 numbers from chase. One is 8004549078; the other is 8474886000.

LEGIT.

Received a call from 847-488-6000. Did not answer the phone, and the message left contained information that ONLY a representative calling me back from the bank would know because the information was only shared with Chase.

847-488-6000 appears to be a trunk line number of the bank - JP Morgan Chase.

Legitimate call from JP Morgan Chase to help me get a hotel refund from a canceled Chase Visa card.  I have been waiting for more than 5 months dealing with the hotel and I am confident Chase will help me get my money refunded.  The call was brief, the person let me know the call was recorded.

This call came to me one day after I CALLED the Chase main customer service number in Wilimington, DE., 302-594-4000.  Fairly good response I say.  I am hopeful I'll have my money soon.

Call is LEGIT.

Moments after I dialed *69 to get this very phone number, I got the same ringing from my cellphone.   The lady there said she was calling for "my name(I'm not saying it...lol)" and said she was from Chase Fraud services(or something to that effect).  I was a bit wary until she mentioned in detail the DAY I got a new card('cause someone else had stolen my previous one) and went into detail with the transactions I'VE made afterward, including one I recently made about 5 MINUTES AGO!!!  

She said that Chase wanted to make sure that I was the one(the owner of the card) who was making these transactions.  

OH and NOT ONCE did she ask for my mother's maiden name and/or date of birth either.  


THIS IS LEGIT.    And I really can't believe that some of you would think otherwise....I agree with those who said that if you aren't sure, then check with your credit card company.   Me, personally?  I'm 1000% certain that I got a call from my CC Company just now.

They called today asking for someone who is not me.  Rather than calling them, I looked up Chase's fraud department and contacted them directly.  They verified that they did in fact contact me and the number really is from Chase's fraud department.  So, at least it really is who they say it is.

I received a call from this #8474886000 they left a message said they were from Chase Fraud division and left another call-back.
I called the Chase number on my credit card-they said they did not call.

There are posters here that are lying and claiming that this number is legitimate. ...this is NOT a legitimate Chase number. Call Chase yourselves to verify this.
It makes me wonder who these impostors are working for.

Not sure what you guys are talking about - a legit call from Chase after i called them earlier today... didn't ask for any personal info, just verified that i called earlier to remove a security hold from the account (they couldn't do it the first time i called cuz I didn't have the card on me) and then proceeded to resolve the issue.

I just missed a call from this number.  I called the number on the back of my JP/Chase card and they said the call was just to let me know that my card balance was up-to-date.  I think this is a call my company requested to be made to all holding employees.

For those who say this number is from someone trying to steal your ID, how about some proof?  Would someone who says it's legit (if it really wasn't) remind people to call the number on their card if there was any doubt?

I received two calls today from different numbers, one is 8474886000. and the other is 8668219635. But when I traced back, they all linked to Chase. Unlike the 847 one, the other one i could not get any info when i reverse the phone number.
Legit or not, I do not have a chase account with them, let alone leaving a number I just had 2 months ago. I didn't pick up any of the numbers I don't recognize.
Just be careful people.

It sounds semi-legit, but the area code 847 is actually from an area near Chicago, NOT a toll free number, so you should be *very* suspicious about ostensibly getting a fraud detection call (from various institutions like chase/visa/amazon) or some other kind of service call.

MOST suspiciously, if you call, you'll get "Chase USA" automated voice service.  Chase USA is *not* Chase Bank.  Be careful about giving out any information.

This is fraud.  These people just want to get your personal information.  DO NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE WHO CALLS ON THE TELEPHONE.  A true request for credit information may come from a financial institution, but it will be on company letterhead.  NEVER GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION ON THE PHONE UNLESS YOU ARE THE ONE WHO MAKES THE CALL.  HONEST BUSINESSES AND BANKS WILL NEVER NEVER CALL YOU ON THE PHONE TO ASK FOR PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION!  Take it from one who has learned the hard way.

Keeping getting calls from this number, they are very rude and when I ask to stop calling they say they will file a lawsuite against our company. How can people think that this is how they do business very annoying.
