I pished one to talk to somoene and they asked for my SS#, when i told the guy no he started repeating a number saying it was his SS# and the call was being recorded and i was in trouble now for getting his SS#, and when i asked what is this some sort of a scam? he hung up...

This company called me at 10 a.m. on  a Saturday morning! I have an unlisted phone number too. How do they get my number and what do they want? Makes me soooo mad!

I have been getting these calls every 2 to 4 weeks for almost a year. I have tried pressing 0, 9, 8, etc. each time and sometimes I get a tirade about pressing the wrong number or the message repeats or nothing at all happens. Once (pressing 8) recording said I would not be called again (they lied). The last few times I have pressed 1 to find out who it is. When I ask who they represent, they hang-up. I dialed *69 after the call this time to find the caller number and got 1 850 271 8240, but when I call that number a recording says it is disconnected or no longer in use.

Similar call about lower credit card rate.  Since I dod not carry a balance there was no need to continue listening so I hung up.  Get frequent calls from Florida which are in essence "cold calls".  Usually do not answer the telephone but if answer by mistake just hang up.  Really a scam.

Got the same mess, ignored the call and hung up, after listening to these idiots, thinking someone is suppose to be that stupid and give them an account number..

they call several times a day. i have paid to be on a "no call" list.
when i ask about this company they give no information. i ask to speak to supervisor. but no.
answer and keep them talking and waste their time.

Got the call today at 9:48 am about lowering my interest rate and that this was my last chance. I just hung up.

What is Caller ID Manager?  I have Call Rejection(thru my phone service) but it only lets me block 29 phone numbers- then it's full.
I tried their premium service that makes all callers Press 1 and say their name.  Not a success.  Solicitors just kept talking and the service thought they were saying their name, so the call went thru.

always leaves me a voicemail that starts in the middle, 'to lower your interest rates. your elegibilty will expire soon' etc etc

Chances are very good that the calls aren't even coming from Lynn Haven, Fl.
There are a few "Services" out there that let you spoof a caller ID.  As such, the boiler room could be in Seattle Washington, for all we know.

I just go the call today, and found this board via a google search.

The do not call registry will have no effect on this, as they are a scam, trying to get people's account numbers for fraudulant purposes.

I received a call from this number yesterday.  The person on the phone explained that he could reduce my credit card rate to 6.9%.  He went on to say, "In order to received this service you'll need to have over $4000 in credit card debt and an interest rate over 11%."  Stupidly, I provided my credit card information along with the last 4 digits of my social security #. Fortunately, in this instance, being over my limit was a blessing.  He said he'd call me back in two weeks to try again.  Immediately after hanging up the phone it hit me...when I called the number back it was already disconnected.  These people are very smooth, be careful!  I never buy into anything, and they got me.....
I called my credit card company and my card # destroyed.

I got a hang up from this number. When I called back was informed it was disconnected. The biggest reason for my concern is because I just checked my credit report yesterday and had to dispute several claims from Florida.

Call came from Lynn Haven, FL.  A recording asked me to press 1 to speak with someone about lowering my credit card rate.  I asked which card.  He said my MasterCard or Visa.  I asked which one.  He started asking about my debt.  I gave him some random numbers, and asked which card it was because I have a very low interest rate and was surprised anyone would give me anything lower.  He said "This is in regard to a MasterCard or Visa.  Now pay attention." and he hung up.   Hmmmmm.  Must think I just fell off the turnip truck.
