- ErinThis is what I've gathered so far by looking at the websites that pertain to these scams. Just so we're clear, I'm only reposting information from other posts I've seen regarding these scams. I've filed a complaint on the Do Not Call list website. The information to do that is posted below. If someone knows a better way to report this please take the information that I've posted here and any additional information that I might have missed and include it with the report. I will be posting this message on all the websites I can find that have to do with this scam and as I find more information I will add it to the post so it won’t necessarily be exactly the same each time. As far as I’m concerned you can copy and paste this on another site to warn others.
I just saw that someone posted info on reporting this to the FCC and also suing these people for each call they make to you. I’m going to try this out. I’m not a sue happy individual. But these people are running a scam and if people are falling for it, then they are stealing money from people. So I don’t mind doing what it takes to shut them down and screwing them in the process.
There are several phone numbers all of which give a message that they are disconnected if you call them back. On some of them the recording is an obvious fake:
1. 954-535-9912
2. 239-263-5860
3. 850-475-5122
4. 321-779-3962
5. 44-207-498-0741
6. 303-280-8689
7. 239-658-0747
8. 850-271-8240
9. 904-779-8982
10. 954-752-3816
11. 321-207-0023
12. 954-623-4620
13. 954-920-5550
14. 352-357-4151
15. 270-922-2017
This is the info I've gathered so far regarding these scams, if I’ve missed anything please post it. I will be posting this message on all the boards I can find that report on this scam. I will change and up date the message as I gather more info.
Update: I just saw a post that states that there is a link you can go to and record your own phony “This number is disconnected recording” so that pretty much answers how they did that. Here’s the link: www.payphone-directory.org/sounds.html
That some or all the numbers are possibly listed with Bell South and an e-mail can be sent to Bell South regarding this to info@connectbellsouth.com .
The people who call go by several names:
1. Heather
2. Shantel
3. Jessica
4. Jerry (a female)
5. Angel (also female)
6. Thomas Ellis
7. Dana
Again these are the one's I've collected. If anyone has recieved one of these calls from someone giving a name different than the one's above on the list please post it.
They are running at least 4 different scams:
1. Offering to lower APR on credit card
2. Offering to extend car warranty
3. Offering free vacations
4. Confirm delivery of telephone directories
Same as above if you got a call with a different scam please list it.
They are claiming to be from different companies (I cannot say for sure if these companies are actually affiliated with these scams or not):
1. Southern Warranty Trust

Again if anyone has a better way to report this, please take all this info and do so and also post it so others can do the same.
Here’s an e-mail address for a woman who calls herself “sue” and claims that she will teach you how to sue these people for a fee. suetelemarketers@yahoo.com I provide this for informational purposes only. I personally wouldn’t go this route and would advise others to be wary of this, it sounds like another scam.
Also, I do not want to take credit for other’s people’s information.

Get this, I just had to copy and repost this. It’s a post from someone who was actually trying to defend these dirt bags and pass them off as a legitimate service.

Product Development Corporation - 21 Aug 2007
Product Development Corporation (PDC) is a national distributor of telephone directories. PDC utilizes phone calls to confirm delivery of telephone directories. PDC does not leave the survey questions on an answering machine. The Federal Do-Not-Call legislation does not appy to organizations that are not soliciting (selling or marketing something). PDC is not soliciting.
PDC uses delivery verification through phone calls because of the cost and quality of this quality control method. This type of quality control process is done by all the major companies in the distribution of telephone directories. Having said this, PDC is aware and respects that there are individuals that would not like to be part of this type of survey. As a result, PDC has created its own internal Do-No-Call list. If you or anyone else would like to have their phone number removed from our calling lists, please email the phone number you wish to be removed to DoNotCall@teampdc.com.
I would like to reiterate that delivery verification calling is a quality control standard in our industry and that each company that does this type of quality control is responsible for their own list. As such, even though PDC will no longer contact all numbers that are requested to be on our DoNoCall list, you may be contacted by others that do not have this capability.
Product Development Corporation - notheatherso I got ANOTHER "heather'-call yesterday. I Googled© "heather from account services", (wow!-yes I was surprized), and surfed-on-in to a wordpress blog called something like "stop heather from account services/wpress...". I thought I hit the jackpot!
I found a GREAT post that led me to IXE financil so I called them (yes, they answered) and said "I recieved a call from Heather...", I actually called them twice because the first guy hung-up while I was probing for info.
I spoke to 3 people at IXE altogether, and all 3 of them told me that they got my name/number/personal credit info/credit-card info., from EXPERIAN. They used EXPERIAN as part of the SALES PITCH! like it was a good-thing to be affiliated with those ass-wipes.....
I excitedly posted ALL the details at the aforemoentioned Wordpress BLOG.
That was yesterday. Today-that blog has been WIPED-CLEAN! supposedly moved as of yesterday to a new url. The owner of that blog has promoted it on other threads on other websites, enticing people to visit, but after posting good info. it disappears. - Texas 2 stepCalled 12/13/07 at 11:58 a.m. Left no voice message.
- Carita in CAI had probably 3 calls from an automated voice message from an "unknown" number. I finally decided to press 1 and talked to someone named "Chris". I asked "Chris" if there was a phone number where I could call them back at and he said he wasn't too sure what their number was ---odd. So he went and transferred me to their manager named "Coleen Miller". "Coleen" gave me the following info about their company.
Company Name: Genesis Capital Management
Website: Genesis Capital Management
Phone Number 1-866.980.2265
She said their headquarters is based in Maryland.- Caller: Genesis Capital Management
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Grateful Client Shelly JonesI recieved the same call. However I was in so much debt and my rates were so high that I decided to give it a chance. My credit card company told me they wouldn't lower the rates so I really had no other choice... A lady named Melissa Rose walked me through the process. They sent me a debt elimation plan and even negotiated rates to be lowered on my credit cards! Doesn't sound like a scam to me.
- Caller: IXE Accelerated Financial
- N HowellI get these calls about 2 times a week. If I hit "2" to supposedly remove myself from the list, it doesn't work. If I hit "1" to talk to a consumer representative, and I try to tell them that I want off of their list, they hang up on me. Any suggestions?
- Caller: Consumer Services
- Bill of IndianaMy story is a little different as well as the phone number. Am on state and federal do-not-call. Will use the excuse of having been sleep deprived for over 48 hours when they called. "Credit Card Services" calling. Your last chance, etc. etc. to reduce your credit card interest rates. Well, I fell for it. Gave them all the info they wanted. Told my kids for years to never give this info to anyone who calls! To get their phone number, do some research and call them back if all looks good. But no, They gave me a phone number 1-888-897-5030, a confirmation number and the names of all the people I spoke with. Should be receiving an enrollment package with seven days. My caller ID said "Florida Call". A friend of mine was vacationing there so I answered and fell for the story of reduced CC rate. After I hung up I instantly realized this was possibly a scam and searched the Internet. After finding this site looked at my caller ID again but this time for the phone number which was "407-000-4721". Company name is Genesis Capital Management. They were going to save me a lot, up to $10,000, in interest and this would be for a one time only charge od $995.00. After reading the posts here called my credit card company and told them what I just did and want them to cancel payment. They were very helpful in canceling this and since I felt my credit card had been comprised are sending me a new card overnight AND reducing my interest rate by 60%. AND not charging me anything! Now, Genesis Capital Management may be a reputable company but my credit card company did the same thing for nothing. And I was not even put on hold!
- Caller: Genesis Capital Management

- mary in louisville replies to carmen AcostaThese people are definitely a scam. I kept asking them what they meant by the term "annulment fee" and one manager was extremely rude to me. Whe I finally thought I was talking to someone who could help me, the quickly mentioned that they would be charging $695 to my account for which I thought they were lowering the fees. When I said NO the woman hung up on me. The initial caller also kept referring to being Treasury Cabinet approved.
- Don't Call Me, Account Services!I have now received a telephone call on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of this week from "Account Services" to lower my credit card interest rate. This is a scam!
- Caller: Account Services
- Call type: Telemarketer
- tulsa crow replies to ROBBERYyeah well they went to Kingsland ga, where they hired me and my wife under the name ACC Financial, although they're buisness liscencese says cruise and vacations IO reported them to the ga dept of labor for not paying my wife and I after both of us quit because we thought they were a scam.
- Elite replies to ConcernedAnd they don't pay their bills either - they left our company with $5,257.70 tab of unpaid bills. They promise to help you with your finances, but can't manage their own! Sounds like they take the money and run. Changed their name to JP Accelerated, 810 N. Apollo Blvd., Melbourne, FL 32935.
- suseI keep getting calls from this scam company called Account Services. Although I have been asked to be taken off the list multiple times, they keep calling from different phone numbers. When I push 1 to speak to a live agent, they hang up on me the minute I ask to be taken off the list, or where are they calling from, etc. This company is a fraud!!!! Most recent number is 617-390-4562. When you call, it rings busy so you can't get through. If anyone knows of a number to call for them where I can get my name off the list, it would be appreciated. Or a number to report them.
