- Judy| 2 repliesGot this call yesterday but realized immediately it was a scam and hung up on him. After that, I couldn't use my computer and have spent two (2) days running scans and checking security and my firewalls were down. Keep it up, Jerk, because I have ties to the legal community.

- CWG40 replies to JudyWon't do much good, since these people are located in India and Pakistan. You can complain.

Anytime someone with an Indian accent who calls you and tells you there's something wrong with your computer and allow him to fix it, be on the lookout. Do not give anyone access to your computer and do not give out any financial information. These people are all criminals.
Nothing against Indians or Pakistanis. - steve bHe's still at it. I had the pleasure of his call today.
- LindaCalled on 2-19-14 saying he was with tech support. Left message on machine and asked for me by name.
- GA ResidentI just received a call from this number. I told him I wasn't interested. He said why wouldn't I be interested because he wasn't selling anything. I told him I thought it was a scam. He shouted an explicative and I hung up on him.

- MarthaI just received a call from this same Indian accented man others are talking about in these posts and I played along with him. When he told me they received notice at Microsoft there was a problem with my computer I said said thank you for letting me know. Then he asked if I wanted his help with it and I said no, I'm sure my husband who is the IT Director at his company (which he really is) will able to take care of it for me he said okay and hung up. lol

- Gunnar replies to BillGet off the computer & get back on the phone "Bill". You're a fraud & everyone finding this site knows it! You miserable scammers are nothing more than annoying. You're not going to earn that $5 US a day by wasting your time here. Get back on that phone & try to scam your boss some money. We all know you're not going to get much of it. But Hey! In your pitiful country $5 US a day plants your worthless ass right square in to the middle-class. Are you proud of yourself? Well, think about it....and then remind yourself that the average American will spend the equivalent of your entire weeks pay on the bottle of wine he'll enjoy with his lunch!
Skeff Ett Liv!
Gunnar - anon replies to Fred S| 1 replyit sure didn't take you long to pick up on using the the word Racist as a crutch.
- anon replies to JudyThat and a $2500 retainer will get you that attorney that you have ties with, to chase ghosts. You can file all the complaints you want but most scammers are usually some creep hidden in the basement of an outhouse and quite often in some foreign country. Happy hunting.
- Anna New JerseyI receiveda pop up earlier in the day Security Breach-
Turned off my computer & logged on again. My antivirus read things were ok.
Late in the afternoo, Jeff called saind he was with MICRO TECH the company used by Microsoft. Hmmm the number showed up on my phone without any I D-- (clue #1). Microsoft using an outside firm? (clue #2). My screens started t flash, I shout off my router- it was faster than shutting down each screen. Needless to say I did not start up the computer, it is with a service tech I trust.- Caller: MICRO TECH
- Les| 2 repliesJust got the phone call asking for my husband... He hung up on me when I said that my husband wasn't available to take his call. He's called here numerous times and gotten my son. Can't we get these calls stopped?
- Caller: "Microsoft technical support"
- Eddie replies to Les| 1 replyJust don't answer the phone if you don't recognize the number!!! I just cannot believe how many people answer calls from unknown numbers and then complain about being scammed. If no one would answer unknown calls they would go away! Obviously enough suckers fall for these scams to keep them making money.
- Sam I AmSame caller woke me up. Said he was Micro Technical support. Asked him to spell it for me, he says sure why not and proceeds to spell the whole thing, even "support" (s as in sam, u as in uncle, p as in Paul, etc.) Funny to hear with his Indian accent. Played along for a couple of minutes. He made the mistake of saying errors were sending from my operating system. I asked what system. He says Windows of course. Which Windows OS? He says Windows 7. (nothing I have runs W7) That's when I hung up on him. Could get interesting if he calls back, lol

- Cindy| 1 replyReceived two calls in the last week. I've wasted *their* time at every opportunity. I asked them what their name was... last guy said James.. He was calling from Houston, TX. Wow, you don't have any Texas accent! I asked the last name, and he spelled it out quickly for me.. D I A Z (although it sounded like DIAD. I said, "Oh, you're Hispanic, from what country did your family originate?" He said, "Portugal" I said, "That's cool.. I have a number of friends who are Portugese. You don't have a Portugese accent though, you sound Indian." His reply, was "I am from PORTUGAL not PORTUGESE." I said, well, Portugese people are from Portugal, just like Americans are from America. The terminology changes when you're describing the people from the country. Wow, you don't sound Hispanic in the least... amazing! Must be that you've picked up some new lingo from being in Texas. (Note to others, if you are Portugese, and have a Spanish accent, then you move to Houston, TX, you will end up with an odd accent that sounds amazingly like someone from India! Whoodathunk?!)
Anyway, I kept him on the phone to irritate him. Asked how he knew my computer had a virus. He said the desktop had sent a message telling them I was infected with a virus. They were not asking for money, but offering to help rid my system of the virus. "Really?" No charge. LOL. I said that I'd just gotten out of the shower and needed to dry my hair, so I couldn't take the call right now.. what number could I call them back on.. he gave 239-247-5552. That number also happens to be associated with the same scams. Creative. The number where the 800 SERVICE ID originated, says 855-210-3300 but it's difficult to tell whether it's just another line of spoofing. I explained that I thought it was odd that Microsoft notified them of the virus, and not me. I explained that I lived just a few miles from Microsoft and had family members who worked for Microsoft (both of which are true) and I explained that I knew Microsoft did not function this way, and that it was a scam he was operating. I told him that his prepared I explained that after I hung up, I'd be dialing *57 which my phone provider (Comcast) uses to initiate a call trace on the incoming call. I also explained that I would be contacting local law enforcement agencies as well as the FTC, FBI and CIA - I wish I could have thought of more agencies. LOL He seemed like he was interested in staying on the phone. I explained that I'm sure he was good at what he was doing, and if he worked legally, he'd be better off. I told him he should use his computer to look up the fines and jail time he'd be doing from such scams, and asked, "You DO have a computer, don't you?" I told him to search FTC and FCC. He said, well, my computer isn't connected to the internet. To which I said, wow.. you were going to help me fix my computer using a dial-up modem? I reminded him that eventually, he'd end up in jail for his crimes and his family would be left out in the cold, without support. I told him that most people are not stupid and that was what he was counting on.. either people who were not well-versed in using their computer, or that he hoped to take advantage of an elderly person. With that, he hung up. (c; I did place a call with my local police, and hope to keep a record of the calls that come in. The calls will continue, I'm sure. I also registered a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry, but we know that goes into a circular file. I got the impression that they were using a phone directory for their victims, since they repeated my name as it's listed there. (Yes, they also had my address, verbatim.) I told him he was calling the wrong area as computer literacy in my location was very high, as most people work in computer related fields here. I said, your SOL, man. Anyway, it took 5 mins of my time, but it was fun poking back at them a bit. Too bad there isn't a number we could call to report all of these jerks to. After placing the call trace, they could come up with SOMETHING to help nail them. Perhaps they're all using cell phones, so a location cannot be determined.- Caller: 800 Service/Microtech

- Dick| 1 replyI got the same phone number calling me tonight. I have a habit of NOT picking up the phone when I see UNAVAILABLE in the Caller ID window and also if it is connected to an 800 series toll free call. I have an answering machine that turns on after 5 rings and goes thru its spiel before you can talk to the machine. You also have to wait for my machine to stop beeping. This dipstick didn't even wait for the outgoing message to stop before he disconnected. Best investment I ever made was in that answering machine although it is an older model it does the job. My wife has been trained to look at the Caller ID first before picking up the phone. That was because she actually talked to a scammer like this one when I was not at home. I read her the riot act and taught her to look at the Caller ID. I like the idea of telling them I am running UBUNTU. Think I will use that in case I have a lapse in memory and actually answer a call. LOL .
