Other Cities By Name - KellyI just receive the exact call people are describing, Indian voice- American Name. We have receive at least 30 of these exact same calls in the past 6 months. Thankfully, I knew it was a scam after searching on-line and have see articles about this in the newspaper in California and cross country in Massachusetts.
This time "Josh Marcus" wanted me to "confirm" my software, I said you're calling me you tell me what software your getting corrupt files from? "Mam, I am confirming this with you to make sure!"
ME: My computer's fine.
JM: How do you know it's fine?
ME: I seriously can't believe you do this to people?! I know ALL about your scam. I read it in the paper & have been called at least 30 times!
JM: You can reading anything doesn't mean it's true! I haven't called you...this is my first time!

- LynnApril 14, 2014 - Just got a call from this number. He sounded from India and that they were receiving reports from our computer that something was wrong and asked if we had Microsoft OS.
I told him no as I did not trust the source. Generally it is us that has to generate the call if we need help and not the other way around.- Caller: Said it was from Microsoft

- darrellInteresting so many people are getting these same types of calls about microsoft problems. I received
two calls within ten days (4/01/14 -- 4/11/14). Asking the caller where he was calling from he replyed Houston,Tx. I had asked how much it would cost me to have these,"so-called problems''FIXED and, in an indian sounding voice replyed, "NO CHARGE", SINCE YOU'RE a microsoft user. - SROMicroTech called on behalf of M$.
Same BS as described above; second call over the last 10 days too.
First talked to Brian; Brian was a little bit green; he had trouble telling me how my computer was sending messages to the public domain as I was claiming that M$ is not public but a private company. Brian, a bit confused told me he was transferring me to a level 5 technician. John Robinson (with also a strong Indian accent), quickly dissipated the misunderstanding about the the "public" domain stuff; no, of course (we laughed), MS is not public, it's private.
Anyhow, I went through the same scripts as all of you. And after 35 minutes of BSing him, I told him my computer was a Mac. Then reminded him his operation was a scam and he should be ashamed of doing that and finally asking him if his mum knew how he was making money. John, then hanged up.

they were calling. I say "I know you are calling from a mental institution because you call the same numbers all the time". I ask how are you ever going to make any money calling people who keep rejecting you. Only crazy people do that. They usually hang up on me by now.- Caller: Who knows
- RickSame thing for me. A man with a heavy Indian accent - claiming to be from a company that was unintelligible, telling me my computer had sent his company error messages. He wanted me to access a web site. I told him my computer was running just fine and that I had no intention of accessing "his" web site. After 10 seconds of silence, he hung up. SCAMMER - DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!!
