Gentleman with an Indian accent called me and told me he was from Microsoft and my computer was corrupted. He ended up directing me to a website "showmypc.com". At that point I told him before we continued, I needed an email from Microsoft , then I would call back. He hung up. I presume he was about to get me to  turn access to my PC over to him.
He said he was from Houston, Texas.

Received the very same call....do these people think we are crazy enough to give them any information??

try to call them back *69 ... the number is not in service ....

Received two calls from this number in the last week.  Both callers had Indian accents.  Said they were from Micro Tech.  I told them both I was on the do not call list and if I received another call I would report them.  I have reported this number - I doubt it will help.  Would not listen to the "pitch" the second time because I know it is a scam.  If I get another call, I will blow a whistle very loudly into the phone.

I was asked many questions about school and my social life and I said my name and my school but lied of many things even the year I was born.

No more phone calls.

Just got a call from the "MicroTech" Indian man.  I talked to him for a while.  It was quite fun, actually.  He told me that there is a very large "public domain server" that gets these messages from all over the world.  They call and can help people get rid of viruses.  I asked for the IP address or name of the server.  He didn't know what an IP address was.  He then wanted to go ahead and tell me how my computers were all infected.  So I let him.  These virus were affecting Microsoft Windows on "my oldest computer."  I asked him which computer that was.  He couldn't tell me or give me the IP address -- we went round and round and round until I finally just gave in and told him that I had 2 Macs in the house.  Needless to say he was more than a bit angry!  It made my night.  I wasted 20 minutes of his time and had some fun.

got a call from an indian name jack said i had a virus on my computer and mic soft was having them call ever one
who had windows on there computer to help them fix their computer.
I told him I work for mic soft and he hung up quick. LOL

Keep getting calls from this number and I hang up on them.

Got the call this a.m. Asked him to just send it to me in an email. Said he could not do that. He had to talk me through it. Hung up on him.

I just now received this call. Indian caller. Same routine. I didn't let him finish. I told his he was a scammer and to never call again. Why doesn't the telephone company do something about this?

Stupid scammers. They sure were nice to cold call and wake me up from a well deserved nap. A plague upon all their houses, and such and so forth. :P

This is the scam where the caller claims to be with MicroSoft -- they are not,
The intent is to get the victim  to permit outside online access to their computer.
They will then mine it for information or hold it for ransom.

These people are criminals and terrorists -- They belong in a cell at Guantanamo Bay Cuba -- forever!

This time he said he was from Microsoft!  Same story though.  Told him I would work with my local IT support.

Didn't pick up. No message.

Someone with an indian accent phoned 3 times this week to tell me there is a problem with my computer. I finally looked up the number. Per info when checking are code 355 it seems the caller does not pay but the person who answers the phone does. Watch your phone bills.
