Like all robo calls and those without identification, it bounces after one ring, followed by many others. Don't care who it is.

Answered because I get an insurance claim calls from toll free numbers, I thought it might be them. A long pause and then someone says they are from Matrix...I hung up at that time and blocked the number.

I agree.  I have received these calls too, and politely told them I was not interested.  They do not take no for an answer.  I visit my primary care physician at least once per year.  I DO NOT need someone to come to my home!!  Therefore, I do not answer these calls anymore.

Sounds to me you work for this company, whomever they are.  These people call me almost every day, someone by the name of Jackie claiming to be from my healthcare provider leaves a message for me to call them back, I have no intentions of answering their calls, much less call them back, I already have a fantastic Dr. that provides me with all the information and care I need, I am perfectly aware of my health issues, in addition to that I have my own BP monitor and I check my own sugar 2x/day, if they really want to help, let them offer to send someone to cook for me, clean my house or do my laundry, otherwise I DO NOT need them.  Stop annoying people with your stupid calls.

Confusion reigns.  You have point you want to make, but I am not exactly sure what that is. With all due respect, I hope you post back and add clarity.

You are skeptical.  But the link you provided is to a 2015 story that is warm and fuzzy to insurer provided home exams for Medicare Advantage recipients.  What do you know for sure that is fact and not opinion?

Is Matrixmednet providing a legit service on behalf of your Medicare Advantage insurer? Or is this some sort of scam?  If scam, what kind?  Is Matrixmednet collecting fees from you or are they submitting fraudulent / inflated bills to Medicare? Do they come to your home pretending to be nurses and then walk off with the silver?

The internet seems confused on the topic of home exams.  Many of the complaints center round aggressive calling by the companies that claim to be contracted to make the house calls.  There are mostly contradictory opinion posts that lean toward the political end of healthcare.

The question "Are the calls indeed at the behest of Medicare/Medicare Advantage Plans?", so far has not be answered to my satisfaction. The Medicare website has been unhelpful, but I am still poking around.  If this goes to the state level and Medicaid, that is whole other mess!

I can state that one of my former insurance companies used this outfit.  I was sent a letter and then harassed by phone for 2 months.  They simply will not take "no" for an answer.  So my last conversation with them I told the girl this, "I am not interested, and you will stop calling me this instant or the next conversation we will be having will be in front of a Federal Judge in a TCPA lawsuit where you will pay me at least $500 per phone call".  Have not heard from them since.  From what I understand, they are hired to come to your home and make you look sicker than your medical records indicate so that the insurance company gets paid more for your care from Medicare/Medicaid.

Ah!!  So the calls are legal - from the Medicare perceptive - or at least authorized but are totally annoying?  That seems to be the direction most of the other posts were taking on various other sites.  Sounds like Matrixmednet and other services contracted to do the exams are getting well enough paid to make for some pushy calling.  Thanks for the info!

I have also heard some unsubstantiated stories of them coming in the home and checking for dust, looking in refrigerators, etc.  My view is that if I need medical advice or service I can go to my regular doctors, or to the emergency room if warranted, or even to the Express Care facility my Hospital Network operates.  I certainly do not need some stranger coming into my home and snooping around.  I don't know if this was mandated by Medicare or not.

I told them NO several times. I told them I am not interested as I see my family doctor on a regular schedule, yet this company keeps calling and many times when I answer the phone they do not say anything, that is  harassment,

I can see part of your problem.  You stopped reading at the 5 year old posts and have expended energy in the hopes that person will stop back and see your reply.  Maybe you should have read the posts on this page instead?

I agree with you BigA.  Medicare must be paying dearly for the insurance company providing this service through Matrix and Matrix must be making a bundle as well. Medicare has authorized a once a year in-home exam by a medical person (a registered nurse, I presume) at no cost to the recipient. It is my understanding that Medicare is paying for it and eventually it will lead to higher costs for receiving Medicare and probably if enough of us refuse the service, higher insurance premiums from your advantage company. Interestingly enough is that this company calls multiple times a week to encourage my 90-year-old mother to agree to scheduling an appointment. My husband and I are also Medicare covered but we don't get calls. My mother instructed me to not transfer these calls to her, but to say I'm her and I'm not interested in scheduling any appointment -- she goes to the doctor for regularly scheduled appointment and has been told by her doctor that her bloodwork numbers are better than most 60 year old people he sees. She could double most of her results and still be in good shape. What earthly good could someone who has never seen her provide to her better than her own doctor. I have also heard that while there, they check for any potential hazardly problems (loose cords, slippery throw rugs, etc.). I've told them over and over she's not interested, still they call. Not long ago Highmark called and sent a letter saying they had been contacted by Matrix about her disinterested and encouraging her to reconsider. I thought when you told a company not to call again they were obligated to comply.  I guess not...

They are obligated to comply.  However this bunch is extremely stubborn.  However, by talking to the girl as I did, they suddenly seemed to be not so interested in stopping by my house.  Perhaps you should try it?  Then you could always sue them for $500 per call.  Somehow I think they would really get the message at that point.
