- DSC replies to SueREPORTED thanks for the info.
- Terry HornLike so many here my parents received call. When you start asking for details like billig address and itemized statements they read through a statement and hang up. I've never heard of a Direct Merchants card nor ever owned one. They used my identity and my parents address for billing. Contact on 11-5-2013. Will post with up to date info for all to see.

- MargaritaSo here is another round with these idiots, can't believe that they go through so much for a charged off account , I received another call from Crosby Cain and assocs. this time the guy's name is Brian ( [***] ) , first he tells me that he has to call me back , which he never does , when he left the message he never I.D. who the call was for , then I call it back and some woman who gives her name as Isabella answers and say she is a paralegal , and that they are in Rockport NY , when I asked her why they never sent a letter , she states it is time sensitive , when I tell her if its so time sensitive then why are they not serving that summons , that they have been threating us with for over 4 wks, Our local PD has been notified and we are now armed, I wish they would give me a reason to protect this homestead , the worse part of this is that my cousin ( the victim) is disabled and they come to her door ( which they deny) leave a had written index card with Barry Drakes name and his association with Crosby Cain and Assoc. and a case # , then say they never left a note like that ,

- vf replies to RockyCease all communication immediately. Most scammers only continue because you have taken the bait. They will call you for a while and you must ignore or my personal favorite, answer the phone with a whistle or loud noise. They will move on eventually.
Let's think about this logically. Process servers only enter the issue once the issue cannot be resolved. Process servers do not act as collection agents. Their sole job is to execute warrants or legal documents. Also, a paralegal also would never call you like that. They are using titles in an effort to intimidate you. Why would a process server care about what you owe? And do you think that it would be cost effect to have a paralegal call you? So let's assume that they tried to get you to pay and are now suing you. Let's assume you owed $2000. They would send you a settlement letter first. Then they would give you 60-90 days to answer, depending on the law in your state. Then you would demand proof, takes more time. Also, what is the statute of limitations in your state? If it is over the time frame, then they are chasing stale debt that they bought from someone else for pennies and they have no legal right to sue you. So let's assume that the debt is valid and they have gone through all the right channels. How much will it cost them to file paperwork, get you served in YOUR juristition, hire an attorney. You think your $2000 is probably used up by now? It's about a quick payoff. It is not illegal to borrow money that you haven't paid off unless you borrowed it from Tony Soprano. They may be able to get a default judgment against you, but terms like fraud are there to scare you. It will not be worse these people, valid or not, to chase you legally. - vf replies to nascarfanThey have the last 4 of SS only because they hacked a website and got them that way. the rest of the number was probably encrypted. The fact that they have the last 4 means nothing
- lucy replies to Don J| 1 replyI was glad to hear I wasn't the only one..First they did a robo call which is illegal and I got the same thing about the summons two forms of ID. Then I called the number 855-420-8338 and spoke to someone that called himself James Briggs he called me all kinds of things and was very threatening I called the number back again and when I asked the secretary where they were out of she hung up to me that says CROOK......then I called a third time and spoke to a man named Barry Drake and he also would not answer my questions .....I have to call the authorities
- Tiredof itThese people have called from various numbers, numerous threats, and of course calling to summon me for an account I never had. Same song and dance as all of you and with all the same names and numbers. My husband was even threatened with his life. These people are scum and scam artists and they have been reported to the authorities, FTC,FBO you name it. They even call and harass my mother. This is getting ridiculous and I want it to stop!
