They keep calling me too.. i have a td bank account that i check on easy web all the time.

I received a call from this number daily for the last couple of weeks.  I finally answered it.  It was a telemarketing company doing surveys on behalf of my bank.  They were rating the quality of service I received when dealing with costomer service.  They did not ask me for any specific information regarding my account.  They just wanted information like..." would you rate on a scale from 1 to 7 the promptness of service, etc."  I worked with a telemarketing business many years ago.  This is legit.  Just remember, though, never give out information regarding personal matters!

I called T.D bank and asked it this 855-496-4285 was a T.D Bank survey number.T.D bank check with there  Fraud department and advise me is is NOT a number they use to call people for surveys and told me not to give them any information

These kinds of calls are always scams. They get your name and name of your bank by skimming information that you may have filled out somewhere online. Your bank isn't selling your info. We now live in a world of scam artists that will try anything to get money of non-suspecting people.

They called me twice today and I didn't pick up and they didn't leave a message. Thankfully I looked their number up and saw all the posts bout it. I'm a td bank customer and a t mobile customer

They just called our company asking to speak with the person who purchases our office supplies. I said they could speak to me. He then proceeded to ask about how many people worked in our office, after that I said we were not interested in participating.
He tried to pusuade me to take the survey.
Strange call. I'm glad I did not give him any information
Nothing about banking though, which seems to be what everyone else is receiving.
I wouldn't give them any information if I were you, possibly a scam to get info.

Same call.... twice within a few minutes but no message.  
Also with TD but I wander how they knew or what they could do with the info.

Called by this number 5 times this afternoon, every 30-45 mins or so. No voice mail, completely ridiculous

Those people making money on stupid peoples.
Never give any private information to anyone, and they are also
stupid cause they call after 8 pm sometimes. And what bank or Company
will give you a call after 8 pm.  So police should catch them soon,,,My advice
is when you get that phone call tell them to go to hell and newer call back again...
Those people should be in jail not having a phone calls to normal people... LOL

855 is just the newest toll free area code, it's no different from getting a call where the caller id starts with 800, 888, 877 or 866 (the other toll-free area codes). Answering the call will not result in a charge to your phone. The info being posted about "the called party being charged for the call" refers to when YOU originate a call to a toll free number, and the owner of the toll free line is the called party.

The sentence you quoted refers to inbound calls made to an 855 number, just like any other 800, 888, 877 or 866 number.

The telephone number charges the cost of the call to the CALLED party. In other words it charges the call to the party with the 855 number BEING CALLED.

You can never be charged for an incoming call FROM a TOLL FREE number. The only time an incoming call costs you anything is if YOU have a TOLL FREE number yourself.

When you receive calls on your cell phone, it uses your airtime minutes, but that's true regardless of the number calling you (in the U.S.). In some other countries, as in Europe and the Caribbean, the premium for airtime is charged to the caller.
