- Call type: Telemarketer
- MichaelPetchThis number is a legitimate market research company, and it is one that TD Bank (among other companies do use). For those people who think TD is not associated with this number, they are wrong. TD Bank (on their site) actually discusses this very phone number. http://www.td.com/to-our-customers/tdhelps/#p ... 7Cvid=e074352e4

- Ann| 1 replyMaybe they are legit, but they really act like scammers - rude, demanding information, and calling at all hours.
- John H replies to telecom executive855 can use for incoming and outgoing calls. In both cases the called party pays for the call. Therefore if you receive a call from Area Code 855, you the called party pays for the call. If you get a call from an area code 855 - you the called party is charged.
- AT&T's reply replies to telecom executiveDo NOT Answer and Calls from Area Code 855!!!!
I received a call from 855-799-7901, but did not answer my phone.
I called AT&T and the AT&T agent said that all calls from area code
855 are SCAM calls.
The area code 855 is actually a prefix for a toll free number that
charges the person receiving the call.
Phone numbers beginning with 855 allow a party to reach businesses
and/or individuals without being charged for placing the call. The
party who is called is responsible for paying for the received call.
The AT&T agent also said there no process to block all area code 855 calls, only
individual numbers on your phone. That number is now block on my phone.
It's an Absolute Shame that AT&T will allow this to happen in the first place!!! If they are aware it's a Scam... why don't they stop it, instead of billing us for it!!
Sounds like quite the deal for the 855 scammers... team up with AT&T and they will bill for you! WOW!!
Thanks for the heads up though... makes us all aware!!
I asked AT&T the same question. Why can't they allow blocking of all calls from Area Code 855. The agent said she would send a request to AT&T management asking for that capability. She also said that if a call was answered from 855 they AT&T would take care of the call and take it off of the Bill for me. - ElaineDo not accept any calls
- lucythis number called me twice today. dead air on my voicemail one time. no voicemail other time
- columbusRude man who called from this number said he needed to talk with---------- our Controller and that he was from PNC bank. Called back when he got voicemail and became rude about why I couldn't page --------- immediately. I really doubt PNC would be so unprofessional as this man was. Rec'd 3rd call and didn't answer. Have rec'd 13 calls from this number in last month.
- Caller: unknown- said with PNC
- et replies to Fraud SquadShills all over this post.
- ellie may| 4 repliesthis is not a legit call. they call every day, numerous times, all hours of the day and night, never leave a message, i dont have any bank account or credit cards, so it cannot be legitimate. anyone who says it is in these posts is a liar and a shill for the scamming company, read the posts. do not answer the phone. once you do, they will know you are a viable number. viable numbers are sold to other scammers. and you will then have way more than one a**hole calling a day, you will have 20. if you do not recognize the number, then dont answer. its really pretty simple. if there is no message, then it wasnt legit or important. dont call it back, they have caller id and then they will know your number is a viable number...and they will sell it. i cannot understand why this isnt obvious to everyone by now. the 'do not call' list doesnt matter, no one is enforcing anything to do with phones, if you block them, they will use another number to call you...just dont answer and move on with your life, is my advice.

- PAM| 8 repliesThis number called my house phone right at 6:00 p.m. and wanted to know if I had made a telephone transaction with my bank. I contacted my bank and they said it wasn't anyone from their banking institution, to keep an eye on my account.

- BobbiSince some people said it was TD Bank, I phone their office and asked them to stop calling me. The receptionist assured me that this number is not legitimate, and not connected with TD Bank in any way at all.
- Stop-Unwanted-CallsObviously a robo caller. My IP phone history shows that I received 3 calls from this number between 4:30 and 6pm.

- KatCalls comes in over and over all day. We do not answer, so we get the obligatory hang up when voice mail picks up.
The link at the top of this page makes it seems like a legitimate number, and everyone in my household has TD Bank, BUT:
The link at top seems to be for Canadian members of TD Bank. I'm American.
People are reporting rude callers when they answer, which would not be a wise business practice if this was legit.
I did recently receive a letter from TD saying something to the effect that they were changing their privacy practices and shipping our info out to third parties. There were instructions on how to opt out to maintain privacy, but I haven't gotten around to really looking at the letter yet. Maybe these annoying calls are part of this garbage.
IF this is legit:
Do Not Call lists exempt anyone you do business with (though it seems some posters are unaffiliated with any of these companies this *survey* is representing).
The reason why you get a million phone calls and hang ups is that a (legit) company can only leave you one message a day per FCC rules. Any more is harassment. Legit and scam businesses alike skirt this rule by hanging up when voice mail picks up so they can call you over and over. And over. - NaDon,t know who it was from as number came back 'unknown caller' . If it is a legitimate caller why not identify on caller ID
