- Caller: GREENWICH ASSOCIATES
- Call type: Telemarketer
- exGreenwichEmployee replies to AnnI worked for Greenwich for over a year I can explain some things to you if you'd like---
To begin with yes we call often. Not "all hours" TD is pretty specific about the hours we can call (4:30-8:30 pm)
And if you hang up on a Greenwhich employee instead of saying "not interested" or "do not call" if you just hang up TD has determined that there's a chance your phone malfunctioned. They can't believe you would hang up on people calling to ask -- totally benign-- questions about your bank experience. So they program the computer to call you back. those two magic words (not interested) or "don't call back" (three words) means we won't call you back. Hanging up on an interviewer might make you feel good for a second, but TD will have us call you back.
Now I understand it might be frustrating for you to see us call a second time or a third time (but you could answer the phone and say those three magic words) and here's what happens-- -people sit at home and see the Greenwich number, and get annoyed, and let the machine pick up (TD does not want us leaving messages) so again, we call back. When the person is tired of ignoring the calls they finally pick the phone up. At this point they're usually quite angry, and from the second they say "hello" if you've been doing this job for months you can tell, they're very angry. And no amount of "Thank you Mams" or politeness will appease. And they can be excessively rude, and to be frank, confrontational. Now at Greenwich there are people listening to each call, and TD listens to them as well... so any time an employee gets mouthy they get one warning and then fired. That's why when people are even swearing at us, we usually say "thank you Sir." or "again, sorry for disturbing you" Most interviewers just take it that we're emotional punching bags for people who have no outlet for their own frustrations, and instead of answering the phone the 1st or 2nd time and politely saying no thank you which means we can happily remove them from the list, instead the people wait until they are really angry at the phone, and then take it out on some poor loser who is stuck in a $10/hour job. Hope it makes you feel better!
Three magic words "Off.The.List" or frustration, it's your life.....
I can tell you something from the 13 months I made calls for TD-- I talked as if I was talking to my grandma to every person regardless of how rude, offensive or paranoid they were (really we don't ask for any information about your account, TD already knows all that they just want to know what your impressions were of the bank, what you like about TD, and if you were warmly greeted-- no Phishing). There is a high turnover, and low wages, so there might be some people ruder than I was, but they will get fired.
In fact you can call TD and tell them you found a Greenwich interviewer rude, and they will know who that interviewer was and they will call Greenwich and Greenwich will fire them. This can happen even if you didn't do the interview. - exGreenwichEmployee replies to ellie may| 3 repliesIt's not "all hours of the day and night" it's from 4:30-8:40
Sometimes TD gives us numbers that aren't good. Wrong numbers. I can tell you that people sometimes when they sign up a new account they leave a wrong number (have called funeral parlours, banks, etc... and I know these numbers were given to TD). Other times we get numbers for people who have moved.... wrong numbers happen.
There is a chance Greenwich is calling you because someone leftr a worng number. All you have to do is ANSWER THE PHONE (once) and when Greenwich asks to speak to Mr. X who isn't you-- tell them its a wrong number and they will never call that number again. They don't want your information and if they knew you don't have a bank account with TD they don't want to pay us to sit there listening to your phone ring.
There was a time when people weren't so afraid of the phones... But it's simple. Pick up the phone and say "wrong number" and the calls stop. If you can't pick up the phone and saw two words, I feel sorry for you.
Also regarding the not having caller ID. As a 3rd party (with a long running contract for over 5 years now with the bank) we can not represent ourselves at the bank, so it doesn't really help much. Anyone can call TD and ask who is Greenwich and they will tell them. They can also click on the link I've seen here several times from the TD website....
But just think about it chief--- we call average American. How many times do you think they remember we told them at the beginning of the call that we're calling "on behalf of TD from Greenwich an independent research company?" I'll tell ya-- about 20% the other 80% start telling us what they think of us (the bank) by the end of the interviews they often ask banking information that we have to remind them we're not the bank.... so if there was a number on the phone that people could call--- we'd be getting calls for TS literally all day and night (not just 4-8) and they would be banking questions and problems with a customers card, and another one's problems with online banking.... it would be a nightmare. Also there would be a ton of people who've been ignoring our calls, never answer to tell us its a wrong number or just hang up on us to make themselves feel better, and if there was a return number we'd never be able to do any interviews for the client, because the whole day would be fending off attacks and angry callers...
If you really have no TD account pick up the phone one time, say its a wrong number and then you will have one less stress in your life. - exGreenwichEmployee replies to PAM| 7 repliesDid you tell your branch that it was a Greenwich Associates that called you? Did you speak with the branch manager or just a teller.
Also I'm willing to bet that you did in fact make a telephone transaction in the past three days before that call came in. The questions they were going to ask you would have been if the transaction was handled quickly and if they were pleasant to you on the phone, and a handful of 1-to-7 ratings on the quality of service.
But if you go into your TD branch and ay you got "a call" from 'some people' asking you questions they will respond very different than if you ask the branch manager about Greenwich Associates. - exGreenwichEmployee replies to OLITD asks us to call from 4:30 until 8:30pom. Most people are not in bed by 8.
Police?? They should catch a legitimate company working for a bank??? For what? To make sure you were greeted warmly on your most recent visit to the bank??
You don't have to tell any employee to go to hell A simple "do not call" works wonderfully. Can you say that?
I'm not sure, seeing how "Those people should be in jail not having a phone calls to normal people" is not even close to enhglish. If you can, try to say it and problem solved! - U.R.Fullofit replies to exGreenwichEmployee| 1 replySince you are a FORMER employee, why are you here covering for them? There appear to be well over 50 pages of complaints about this company. Who is more believable??
What is the physical address & contact information for Greenwich Associates? - exGreenwichEmployee replies to Rick longlott| 2 repliesPLEASE DON'T SHOOT. Go to TD and talk with them about Greenwich
Or don't be such a [***] and answer the phone, and say "Take me off the list"
And then your problem will disappear. If you really want to not have problems. My experience is that most people getting angry overt 3 calls (that they refuse to answer) are just looking for something to vent their frustrations. - exGreenwichEmployee replies to LMYou can also go back to your banks and get taken off their list. You clicked a box saying TD can call you for feedback. Maybe you didn't pay attention. But CRTC can't do anything about it as you gave TD the permission.
Also you would only have received one call if you *answered it* and said "not interested" (two whole words!!" or Don't call back). But it seems most people would rather get angry at a telephone and at their bank's feedback mechanisms. - exGreenwichEmployee replies to MimiIf you like getting angry you're doing just fine!
If you want to be proactive, answer the phone, say "Don't call back" ....three whole words, and the calls will stop.
TD does not want us leaving messages they want us to call back, they don't realize you're screening your calls.
Three words.
Or you can lookup the number, write on forums.... talk to strangers about it.... hell you can ignore the calls, or slam down on us when we say "hello may I please speak to----" and slowly build up your frustrations. - exGreenwichEmployee replies to roseIt's not telemarketing. There is no marketing. TD asks for feedback. You signed off for this when you opened your account (or probably didn't opt-out). You don't have to do it. and you can go back to TD an dtell them you want to opt out. But the Federal Do Not Call registry does not preclude service providers from calling their clients to get feedback. Would you rather a bank that doesn't care?
As far as calling at supper. TD asks that we call between 5:00 and 8:30 so as not to disturb people at work. We're always going to disturb people one way or another... . some people get mad when I'd call them at 8:00 and it was after their bedtime (senior citizens) and people eat at 4 ... some people eat at 5... some at 6... maybe you were eating at 8:23 is this is really killing you go to your branch manager and let them know you want off the list, you don't want calls, and that you eat supper at 8:23 and are very very bad people. - Foe-Fum replies to exGreenwichEmployee| 4 repliesI smell a Shill.
Who you protecting? And why? - exGreenwichEmployee replies to gatekeeper| 7 repliesYou'd think that a company paying minimum wage for people to get yelled at by paranoid bank customers (it's a [***] world... sure, there are creeps and thieves out there, but Greenwich is not one of them) you'd think that getting reamed out by 80% of the people who pick up the phones for $10 an hour wouldn't lead to such a high job turnover....
And to anyone who "found" this site after writing down the number, be a real googler and look for real information instead of a paranoid hate-fest https://mediaroom.tdbank.com/2013-02-05-TD-Ba ... nt-Satisfaction obviously TD Banks is still pretty happy with their relationship with Greenwich and with the customer feedback we do get from them (only 80% of people hang up, ignore the calls or swear and scream) 20% give good feedback!)
Thanks for speaking to them though, it's amazing how even a nice "please remove me from the list" gets a pleasant "thank you and have a good afternoon" and if you don't ever want to continue, just say "not interested" - WolfmanJack replies to exGreenwichEmployee| 4 repliesInteresting how you decided to "look up" this number, take the time to register and then post multiple times about your "ex" employer. Perhaps you would like to give us the legal name and address of this wonderfully legitimate company so that we can check it out for ourselves?
- Foe-Fum replies to exGreenwichEmployeeCurrent SHILL and ex-greenwich. Hey chief, are you standing up for poor abused tele-scammers or for greenwich scammers in particular? Scammers get what they get. How about this: Pretty Please, with sugar on top, quit posting your lies here. Thank you and have a good afternoon. OK - you got what you want. Go. Leave.
- exGreenwichEmployee replies to Foe-Fum| 3 repliesI'm protecting no one. But after working there for almost two years (and as my name is Ex-Greenwich employee do you really think I'm hiding anything?)
But over those 17 months in between me asking questions like "were you greeted warmly at the branch" and "how well did they show empathy to you situation?" I also reamed out daily by people who were just waiting to puke anger on me, and I pop into this site and see all the raving paranoiacs who I can tell are the kind who hung up on me (and the computer would just call them back, and me knowing that I'm going to call them right back and have them probably yell at me for my $10/hour job asking if you were treated properly.... and it made me feel compelled to let you know who insane your behavior is.
You want to think I'm a shill, go right ahead. You're too afraid to go to your branch and ask a manage who are these Greenwich people? That's not my problem.
I'm not protecting anybody. But now that I don't work there I am able to speak my mind. And let you know how insane you are behaving. Just ask them at the bank. Or do some google sleuthing on your own https://mediaroom.tdbank.com/index.php?s=30379&item=94207 or just stay paranoid and congratulate yourself on your ignorance!
