I received a call and it was not in my area code.  I live in South Carolina and I didn't appreciate this scam.  When I investigated further and found out what number called it claims to be a "Code Red" service that has never called me.  When I called back all you get is a recording.  

If this is some type of emergency call to alert people of an emergency why would they not identify themselves as such instead of displaying as "Unavailable".  I do not answer calls that don't identify who is calling.

I will add my voice that our town uses ecn for emergency broadcasts and changes in city services schedule.  Received one im past 5 monutes that was an amber alert.
Maybe spam or scam elsewhere,  legitimate here.

Cell phones are not allowed in operating rooms.  This is bogus.

4/18/2014:  "Codered Info" - 855-969-4636 called, did not leave a message. What kind of an emergency did we have?  The house wasn't burning, the dog hadn't been hit by a car, the horse was  comfortably eating hay, the cat was asleep, the Big Bird was not screaming, no earthquate,no hurricane bulletin, no flood warning, no hailstorm, no snow avalanche; the donkey Harley was playing with his girls; and, Moo, the cow did not kick the bucket. May be they were trying to reduce my credit card rates, sell me a new water system, or place a "free" placard in my yard to alert everyone that a new alarm system was installed, or a "free" Caribbean Cruise, or a WalMart Card, or offer me a free ride to the moon. What scammers - trying to use their scare tactics to alarm everyone. This has been reported to law enforcement, the atty gen (Florida) and all appropriate agencies.  The trace is on!

I just rec'd a call from this number--caller ID was listed as "ECN COMMUNITY."  It was a prerecorded message from our town clerk (she identifies herself by name) reminding me of an upcoming town meeting.

Despite what others have insisted, I *never* signed up to receive these types of calls.  Any number that I've given to various town agencies in the past has been my cell phone.  This call was made to my (non-published) landline.

I don't have kids, and have no need to receive these types of calls, so I'll be having a chat w/the town clerk in the morning.  If she can't/won't remove my number, I'll just block incoming calls crom this number...

It is your community's emergency call system, however, their definition of an "emergency" and mine are very different!  I just received an "emergency" call from my city informing me that they are having a health fair at the community center tomorrow.  C'mon, people!  It's not supposed to be an advertising tool!

I dont live in West Virginia but I get calls in the middle of the night regarding water updates/ issues.  Very annoying!!

City of Coral Springs, FL... Emergency Alert Messages

The Caller ID showed CodeRed Info and it was the Coral Springs Police Department alerting that their non emergency phone lines were down and providing an alternate number.  I think this number is used for all cities Nationwide it would seem to relay essential information.  They then called back a few hours later to update the lines were back in service.

THEY ARE SPAM! Called me today and said they were "Unemployment" and gave me a 467# to call back if I still wanted a job!!!

This number called & left me an automated message regarding a meeting in my community about some recent events that have taken place. SOOOO it seems this is some sort of community alert system used throughout the country!!!!!

A heath care provider that's who...Someone who works in the medical field and has to be contacted in case of an emergency...And some of them still use pagers, too.

Just got call from this number (showed as toll free number on caller ID), glad to know it is Code Red BUT the recording was so choppy I couldn't make out a word they said.  I sure hope it wasn't anything important!

I have received 4 calls from this number. They used 2 different names Alex Warner and Matthew Smalls. According to the caller they are looking for an old friend who used me as a reference. Obviously he has not paid them. I informed them that they could call me anymore or I would contact my attorney. Smart ass Smalls says "Hold the Bus". I cussed him out telling him that I don't owe him a dime so don't harass me again. He hung up. Will be calling my attorney if he calls me again.

I received a call from 855-363-4636. I don't know who this is and do not want any more calls from them,

Just got a call from this number (855-969-4636) at 9:18 PM.  As I don't EVER answer 800# calls, I stood there and listened, but the 'recording' started 'talking' BEFORE my out-going-message (OGM) ended and I only heard the end of it.  Apparently, it was an AMBER ALERT of a child missing in my local (Upstate SC) area.  I wasn't close enough to the phone to push whatever would 'repeat' the message.  Don't ever remember signing up for this, but 'emergency' calls such as floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, I DEFINITELY want to be made aware of!

This was the City of Osawatomie (Kansas) letting me know about a boil alert for water.

I just received a call from this number.  I did not answer but called back once I read the notes on this site.  The company name is UPG with the address as PO BOX 93, Hamburg, NY.  I goggled them to see what type of company they were and did not get the information I need to determine whether it was a scam or not. Another number to add to my blocked number listing :-)

Just received a call from this number.  I let the answering machine pick it up.  Recording informed me of a boil water advisory in my area.
