- John replies to rodent| 2 repliesI never read where that person ANSWERED the call just RECEIVED.
- Thatguy| 1 replyThis is an emergency "code red" notification from you local sheriff's office. You most likely signed up for notification if there is any natural diasaster, or immediate safety threat. The message I just received was about a possible missing person.

This system is really efficient at getting critical information to the public in case of emergencies according to our local law enforcement. A four hour delay is NOT efficient.- Caller: ECN COMMUNITY for Topeka Police Department

- MiaWow in reading some of these posts it is amazing there are people out there posting to this thread that actually breathe unassisted. This was my son's school calling to inform me that his report card posted to the parent portal for school (rolling eyes & shaking head). To the "doctor" who answered his/her phone during "emergency service" you are what keeps me in a job (I am a paralegal working in medical malpractice for patients that you screw up). To you, I say thank you, you are feeding my family :D !!!!

Do not answer this call! If you do answer don't give them any information.
What a dam scam!! - Fed Up with this Crap replies to Robert| 3 repliesRobert you are a liar! it's nothing to due with a "code Red Hot" Line
DO NOT ANSWER THE CALL SCAM WARNING!!
SCAM WARNING! - holgaman| 1 replyThe message I got was legit. It was a community notification about the quality of the drinking water after a water main had broken. The water main breakage was on the news and happened near where I work, so I was included in the notification.
- Kyle replies to holgamanTo everybody complaining about getting a bunch of calls, blah blah blah, just answer the damn thing. It's an Emergency Alert number. For example, my city uses it to alert us of "Snow Emergencies", which is very necessary because with a snow emergency we are not allowed to park on the street and get towed if you do. Without these phone calls I would have no idea when we have a snow emergency.
Also, for everybody writing notes on this website saying "take me off your list" or whatever, you crack me up. You do realize this is a random website that has nothing to do with the number, right? - DaveThey called me @ 11:30 pm est. The guy on ther other end was not from the US( could hardly speak english). The caller ID said ECN community. Told him not to call again, he proceeded to call back 4 times in a rowI was so irate I told him where the sun don't shine.I called the # from my work phone the next morning, and it sent me to a code red from my home town. The message was 30 days old for a snow storm alert. I am not sure who the guy was on ther other end of the phone was , but I am damn sure he wasn't from my hometown calling at 11:30pm at night! Idiots!
- GrayboyGot a call from this number which appeared on the caller Id as ECN Community, they called back to back 3 times, I never picked up because I didn't recognize that # The consensuses on this site says its a # from Code Red an emergency reporting agency.

- QuentinJust got a call from this number; it was a reminder that street cleaning was starting next month. I intentionally signed up for this service, and it seems to be used quite effectively. It sounds like in some other towns, the local town has just put everyone's landline number into the call list. It's a shame that it sounds like some scammers are spoofing this number on their caller ID; I highly recommend answering calls from this number, because you never know what emergency they might be notifying you of.

- Bob A. BueyThis was my city street sweeping department letting me knwo that street sweeping was starting on April 1st and to check the city's website for schedules so we don't get towed. No scam here, at least for me.

- its real no scamThis is not a scam. There was a bomb scare on MIT campus and the number called to alert me.
- ConfirmingThis is the Code Red Alert line............received a call this morning from my city alerting that there was an issue with the main phone lines for the City Hall. They did leave a message on my cell phone........which I did sign up for the alerts. This is one of the few legit calls that I receive on my cell that is definitely not a scammer.
