Just got this call. Did not answer the first 3 times. Checked here first. They called back. Says it's an alert in my area. Supposedly someone is calling people saying they have kidnapped a loved one and to send a wire ransom. Call said it was a scam.

When I received the call it was a recording from my local police department (they identified themselves and the city where I live) about an Amber Alert for 5-year old girl. The recording proceeded to give description of her and of the person who might be with her.

I found this information worthwhile and would consider it an emergency if it was my kid.

It was a Code Red alert from our county sheriff's office regarding a Silver Alert for a missing 86 yr-old gentleman. Glad I saw (and THANKS to you all for) the imputs identifying this number. This is one that I will make sure I answer in the future if/when they call again.

This is indeed a red code alert. We are in CO and just received a call warning o a flash flood. Don't be such an alarmist.

And what is this supposed scam you keep freaking out over ? Please give a description because you messages are completely opposite of all of the others

A long message about meetings at addresses I didn't recognize.  This message
didn't seem to be meant for me.

Whatever this call is, when I picked up the phone there wasn't any message, not even an automated one. Phone calls such as this type is annoying as hell and even worse, they'll share your number with other similar companies so it's like a never ending cycle.

The call said it was a Code Red update.  I previously had my number removed from the Code Red list (previous number I received call from was 866-419-5000) as I do not want these calls waking me in the middle of the night.  When I called 855-969-4636 back to tell them to remove me from their list, a recording said they did not recognize my number and that I was not in their system.

I live in Dallas Texas and the message was from the Stillwater Oklahoma Police concerning auto burglaries.  Glad they told me in case I am ever in Stillwater

This is a code red alert for your area, Kris you aware of storm warnings, just got a call from it  because of a missing boy in my area and they need the community to be aware in case he's spotted, very helpful number

This number called my phone 5 times in an 8 minute span, letting it ring 9 times (the maximum) each time. What the hell is it about?

This was a warning from my police department about some criminal activity in my area.

Not a scammer, not a prank, not a telemarketer.

Why in the world do you people post "Do not call me"  on this discussion board.  It has nothing to do with your unwanted calls or facilitation of your unwanted calls.  Tell you caller to stop calling.
