I just got scammed for $2000! feel so dumb! I a student am a college, so of course I did my homework, looked everything up, made sure these people weren't well known scammers. This too was a lady stating her name was Sergeant nurse Laura Simpson.
She had stated that everything would be done through ebay, and like I said I looked everything up. She was selling a 2003 Volkswagen Passat. her email was laura71simpson@gmail.com her ad was on craigslist. the ebay agent was William Perez from Denver, CO.
Please I hope you dont fall for this like I did, I feel stupid and completely violated.
People are just not right these days.

I never got a call but I believe this scam artist is still at it. I'm in Tyler, Texas looking for a new car. I searched on Craigslist.com and found an unbelievable deal - a 2004 Jeep Liberty for $2758.

This is the email I received from "Frank Thompson" :

Hi there, thanks for e-mailing me. My name is Frank Thomson and I would like to inform you about the location of the vehicle Morgantown, WV. The jeep is still available and it's in excellent shape inside-out, no accidents, always garage kept, never smoked in. It has 71,528 miles and no mechanical problems, dings, dents or scratches. There are no liens or loans on the jeep and it has a clean title. I'm selling the jeep below the market price because it's the only asset I have that can be turned fast into cash to pay off the mortgage as soon as possible. My brother is a DAS shipping company employee and he can deliver the jeep at no costs for me everywhere in the US.
The transaction will be managed by eBay, so everything will go smooth. You will receive the jeep for inspection before you make any payment to me. If you receive an email similar to these be very aware it is a scam. I was looking to buy a motorcyle and received this one after contacting the seller from craigslist:

Through ebay because she is supposedly leaving for a japan base soon! Are these people [***] mentally ill? Now I'm going to teach it a lesson for scamming people like a scum bag!

There is a dead give-away to all these scam emails. In the military, we do not use a period when we abbreviate our rank. AND if it's not official military business, we're not supposed to include our rank or branch of service when we sign something. This is to ensure that the conduct of personnel neither discredits the service nor implies that the DoD is endorsing any nonofficial commercial activities.
