Hi again,Right now I'm in a military base. We are training, getting ready for Afghanistan. I am only allowed to check my email several time a day. We have to stick to e-mail for now. Hope you can understand. The car is already at our Military Logistic Department form Fort Belvoir, U.S. Army base crated and ready to go. Like I already said, the delivery process will be managed by me. I think I can have it there at your home address within 2-3 working days. It will come with a clear title and reg. I am a member of the eBay buyer protection program and using this service you will get a 5 days testing period after delivery. During that 5 days testing period I will not be getting any money. I need to know if you are interested so I can ask eBay to send you the details on this deal. If interested please include in your next email your contact info for eBay (full name, shipping address and phone number), so we can move forward with this transaction. Here you have pictures: http://jpegbay.com/gallery/003576372-.html#1Thank you.Sgt. Martha Weaver - ZakharHi, guys.
Thanks for info. This sounded too good to be the true offer. I'm still contacting them. Started from the Pittsburgh craigslist. Is there any way I may report this scam to catch those [***]?
The new phone number is 646-439-7014 - ConcernedCarBuyerI came a across a deal that seemed too good to be true and after some investigation, mainly by googling craigslist and ebay buyer protection, I found that ebay says to ignore these and chalk them up as fraudulent. Here is the story I got for my 2005 Audit with 35,600 miles that was selling for 2053 bucks.
I've received your email regarding the Audi A4 with 35,600 miles on it. The car is still for sale and my asking price is $2,053. It is a 2005 model loaded with everything. The car is very well maintained and it has just been completely serviced. The engine runs very good and the automatic transmission shifts perfectly. The car is in perfect condition with clear title,no accidents, no liens or loans.
I’m selling the car because I lost my husband and my son of only 19 years, with 2 months ago in a car accident. A drunk truck driver hit them. They were in my husband’s car and they didn’t had a chance. This was my son's car and brings me a lot of memories that make me suffer and this is the reason for what I want to sell it as soon as possible. If you have any other questions, or need more info, please free to ask.
Here are some pictures with the car: http://www.yogile.com/u1kgvxsb#
Sincerely,
Katie
I then replied with.....
can you provide mileage, condition, etc. thanks.
Thanks
and i got back this.....
Hi again,
As I told you in my first email, I recently lost my son and my husband. Currently I am located in Hartford, CT at my parents because they are the only persons that I have in my life at this moment. Unfortunately I can't conclude this transaction personally because my work involves a lot of traveling but I left everything prepared for the sale. I can't afford to take days off my work for this sale so I'm trying to sell it online. I will make the deal only trough eBay, because I am a member of eBay buyer protection program and using this service you will get a 5 days testing period after delivery. During that 5 days testing period I will not be getting any money. Also the price is $2,053 with shipping included! If the car is not like described, it will be shipped back on my expense and they will give you a full refund. This way you will be able to inspect the car before committing to buy it and I know that you have the money and you are not just fooling around. If you want to make this deal I need the following details from you: full name, address, and phone# and I will initiate the transaction.Sorry for the long emails I have tried to touch all bases.
Sincerely,
Katie

- Phelpz replies to unknownYea It's a scam. I just saw a 2005 Nissan maxima for $1984. Here is the story they sent me.
Hi Abby,
First of all thank you for your interest. The car is in perfect condition, no electric problems, no accidents/liens/loans. No scratches, never been repainted. I have all the car manuals, title, documents. I'm selling this car because my child of only 24 died 4 months ago in a car accident, a drunk driver hit him and his fiancee. He was with his fiance's car coming to our home at his little brother birthday of 16 years old. The car belonged to my son and it brings me bad memories and that's the reason I want to sell it. The final price is $1,984. Me and my husband travel a lot with our business and we want to make this deal through eBay Protection Program. We will take care of the shipping so don't worry. If you have any other questions, or need more info, please free to ask.
We hope to hear soon from you.

Thank you for your interest! - bill jones replies to discreetI got a very similar message, but has anyone researched the Google checkout or eBay buyer protection policy to make sure you can get your money back if the people are lying? If you can return it with a full refund, I do not see the downside. I definitely see how it probably is a scam, but I would like to know more about the promised full refund return if the buyer isn't satisfied.

Hello,
Thanks for your interest. The car is still for sale. I'm selling this beautiful 2005 Acura TL because my daughter is in hospital, is very sick and I need money for treatment. I'm under enormous time pressure cause I need to sell it fast, that being the reason for selling it so low. My husband and I divorced last month, after the divorce I was awarded the car. It is a 2005 model loaded with everything. The car is in perfect condition with clear title, no accidents, no liens or loans and it has just been completely serviced. The engine runs very good and the automatic transmission shifts perfectly. The total price is $2,000 including delivery and handling to your address.
Because i'm very busy with my daughter I decided to sell using Amazon Payments A-to-z Buyer Protection because this protects both: buyer&seller. Also they give you a period of 10 days for inspection/test drive and in the mean time offers me the guarantee that you have the amount needed to buy it. Let me know if you are still interested and if you need further information soon as possible,

- fbdc replies to JJI think I am currently dealing with a scammer to!. The name he use is Lt. Heather McDowell. She/He said that she/he was promoted and will be assigned in AFB Anchorage, Alaska that's why she/he's selling her 2008 Nissan Altima for $3,000 only. The car looks new and nice. She/he sent me 18 pictures of it. The car is still in Nebraska, and she said it's already in the shipping company ready to be delivered to the new owner. She/he was using the said "eBay's Buyer's Protection Program" to lure buyers to trust her/him. This is her/his actual message:
Hi again,
I will do my best to walk you through the process. As I told you in my first email, I recently got promoted and transferred to Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage Alaska for 3 years . The vehicle is located in Omaha, Nebraska, but i advertised it on other states also to get more exposure and sell it faster. The vehicle is already at the shipping company , ready to be delivered to its future new owner. The deal is handled by eBay so I don't have much to do about it. Using eBay`s Buyer Protection Program, you get free delivery, at your place in 3 days. In addition, you get 5 days to try it out before buying it, and if you don't like it, you can send it back at my expense. If you wish to proceed just send me an email with your full name (for the bill of sale), a delivery address and a phone # where you can be reached and I will forward them to eBay and they will send you the invoice with all of the transaction details.
P.S. On the invoice you can find delivery details, payments options and safety plans, and as well their main toll free # for any questions you may have!
Thank you,
Lt. Heather McDowell

Hello,
My apologizes for the delay, my 2005 BMW X5 is in great Condition, super clean, 81,745 miles, 8 Cylinder Gasoline(4.4L V8 EFI), VIN: 5UXFB53565LV20507, no DINGS, no accidents, ALWAYS garage kept, service records up-to-date, clear title no loan or lien on it. The car is registered on Florida, but don’t worry the title is clear and we won’t have any problems registering the car in your name.
The price on it is $4,500. I am selling my car, because at the moment I’m in combat training at the Eglin Air Force Base and I am do to leave overseas in about two weeks.
At the moment my car is at the shipping warehouse in Miramar Beach FL, because I had the car for sale a few weeks ago and I managed to sell it to a person from your area. The car was sent to him, but when it reached the destination, the buyer was unable to pay for it, because he didn't got a loan. The car was send back to me and remained at the shipping company until I was able to find another buyer.
I asked eBay to help me solve this issue. I will have it shipped with DAS Auto and I think I can have it delivered in 2-3 working days max. Don’t worry about the shipping price, I will pay it, because I am seeding it to same area and I will only pay a quartet of the price. And this is not all, after you receive my car you will get a 5 days testing period, before you decide buy it.
To make this deal happen I must ask eBay to send you the terms and conditions of the eBay Program, but before I can do that I need your approval. So if you agree please give me your full name, address and contact number(s) so that eBay can register you as a potential buyer and sent you the terms and conditions.
Please remember that at this moment you have no obligations what so ever, just read the Transaction Term and after that let me know if you are interested in doing this sort of transaction.

I received an email invoice supposedly from EBay. It looked official. They (supposedly EBay) wanted me to fax them $2500 worth of Green Dot cash reward cards numbers to +1 (206) 333-0223.
Oh, and I google-mapped the address on the "EBay" invoice - 12 Lin Dr, Eglin AFB, FL 32542 and (surprise!) it is a vacant lot.
Posting this so it will be searchable for others. - Mister T replies to Mister TI received the following after an inquiry about a vehicle on Craigslist:
