They can't make money if their domain gets shut down by the registrant or Godaddy, right? Let's find out!! I've already emailed and spoken to an agent from Godaddy on the phone. I'd never encourage people to be a total pain in the rump but seriously...the louder we are about this, the more likely we are to be heard!

My wife signed up for the Google CD, too, and a few days later we were charged $72.21.  I immediately looked up the phone number on the bank statement, and found this site, realized what was going on.  We called the number (866-200-5473) and had a difficult conversation with the representative, but they eventually agreed to cancel the account and gave us a return authorization number.  We immediately sent the CD back.  About 10 days later, we were charged an additional $24.87.  I was ready to file a claim with my bank, but my wife called the number back and talked to someone else, and after 15 minutes of saying "No, I just want to cancel my account and get a refund of both payments" they agreed to it.  I was ready to file a claim with my bank but yesterday we actually got a full refund of both payments.

I wanted to post this so people felt like there was some hope of dealing with this scam... I guess being persistent is key.  I'm going to be watching my bank account closely, though, because after all that I don't trust them.

Well I'm glad YOU got YOUR money back that they NEVER should've taken in the first place! How 'bout trying to help me keep them from doing this to other people you care about!?

Well, One thing we all should remember is that we are the ones who trusted these guys and gave our bank information. If we had been little bit more cautious about reading the terms and conditions before we agreed to it, we wouldn't have been in all this mess. So the lesson to learn here is READ BEFORE you SIGN UP for anything especially on the web.

It is also just so depressing to think more about this whole thing! And yes it does waste our time and the nerves and it is not fair that we should be going through this much when this life already has so much to worry about. So I just wanna change my bank info and not to make stupid choices like this in the future.

As for those who are making the phone calls, be straight and firm when you talk to them. Also it is important to record your phone call with them for your future safety since you will be waiting to talk to someone at least a half hour. When I called I just yelled at the guy and said that I was recording the whole conversation and demanded them to give my money back right now. What they did was ridiculous and so they deserve such conversation.

Yes I was very mean to these people and found out the A1 member is a business located in Utah they have no number but an address and the customer service number above is a call center in the Philippines.

So when you phone, fax, and email him with your complaint, as well as the Division of Consumer Protection, they will then be alerted with all the data they need to really crack down on these guys.

   The more data, the more they will be inclined to act.

   And next year is an election season, so contacting your and their US Representative would help, too. "

I did get my money back, but nobody should have to go through this deceipt.

Well I just got off the phone with the company that charges us. I cancelled in  early May which was still in my 30 day free trial and still received a charge of $24.87 on my card May 28th. They claimed that I never cancelled the account. My cc is disputing the charge.

This is the exact thing that happened to me. First the $1.97 Then a day later the $72.21 at that time I went to my bank to cancel they gave me the 800 number. I accually did get someone they cancelled the account and I got a conformation #. Then two weeks later this fee for $38.84 I immediatly called my bank. They again gave me a different 800 number to call. I did call and cancelled and got another cancellation #. Only problem is. All the charges are from diffent company names. However after reading a few of these post, I found all the names listed. I am on my way to the bank now to cancel my credit card and see what else there is that I can do.

these people are frauds. it's a scam I am on the telephone with the credit
card number now. They charged $1.97 for nothing at all. Now they are harassing me on the telephone for account info again this account I closed.
That's the only way to do it.

Did you get your refund?

I too fell for the scam I order the package 1.97 the package has never arrived and I got another charge of 72.21.

Called Customer Service at Visa Credit Card. She say you agreed for the charge afte 14 days trial period.

I said I haven't received the package so how can I try. For that she said thats between me and the company they can't do anything about.

Can sue Visa, if we can I need some guidance how to go about it.

I allso was hit on my debit card for 72.98 and 38somthing and 3somthig and a 1.98 for that Googlekit witch i did not get.I'm disabled and that hert me bad to loos that kind off money,and my bank just keeps on telling my that thay are looking into it.

Please remember that these adds were presented using "Google" and they are a trusted presence on the Internet.  Many fell for this and there seem to be problems at all levels.
I did receive a refund of the $72 charge.  I kept my head and was very pleasant.  That seems to make a real difference.  There haven't been any other charges.
Today, 6/5/2009, I received a call from a company called "Internet Sales" and I do beleive that they are part of this scam.
The caller was "Mark" at extension 126 and he said it was to give me information for something I purchased on EBay.  I do use Ebay and that is directly connected to PayPal.  The last item I won on Ebay I have received and I never purchased "information" on ebay.
I called 866-374-1638.  I talked to an operator and told her that all the accounts had been cancelled and she said that was a different company.  I emphasized that ALL accounts havce been cancelled.  She said to let the person know that if they call again.
Her responses seem to indicate a connection with this scam.  I am going to start a new string with this toll free number.  I am sure that someone may have been called by this company in con nection with blazing keywords.

So we have US addresses and US based cpa ad agencies, Israel and UK billing addresses and 'customer service' outsourced to Manila in the Philipines. Clearly a massive scam on an international scale.

They did the same thing to me. I just found the charges on my bank. I never requested a CD and never got a CD! It is so D.A.M. fustrating! I am going to call monday very early and see what they say. Also I am going to call my bank!
