- Annoyed Receptionist replies to IsabellaWe don't normally answer 800 numbers at our office. The rule is that we just hang up on them. Eventually they get the point. This guy kept calling over and over again. He was SO RUDE. He goes, "Are you the one who keeps hanging up on me?" I told him nicely that we don't answer 800 numbers. He said "Why are you changing the subject?" I politely asked if I could help him with something. "Why are you changing the subject?" he said again. "It's uncomfortable for you. That's why." and then he hung up on me. What a jerk!

- Reception| 1 replyThis company has been calling for my boss for almost a year now. I tell him every time he's not in and he continues to call. I have asked if someone else can help him, if he wants to leave a message. How do they NOT get the message that I am NOT putting your call through?! Come hell or high water?!
- Caller: Won't Leave Name

- Valerie replies to ReceptionExactly same thing at my company..."Mike Evans" always calls for our owner by name, says he'll just email him after I tell him he's not available. I finally told him I am the Gatekeeper, no one gets past me without telling me their company name and the EXACT reason for their call.
- DM50315rlaI couldn't deal this guy today - transferred him to the HR lady as requested. Now, because of him - she wants all her calls screened.
- StephaniePersistent sales people trying to get their foot in the door... Like many others have reported - they call several times a day. Usually 2 to 3 times in a row and then again later in the day. Thank goodness for caller ID. I just let it roll to voicemail now. If it's important, they'll leave a message...but they never do! It's a pain having to be harassed by them and inevitably they will get through to someone else within the company who doesn't know any better and will transfer them to me. Ho-hum...

The guy call me and want to talk to the owner?
I ask what is this call regarding and he said no and hang up directly. - SallyBerryCaller asked for (former!) CEO by first name in a rushed manner. "Sure, please hold!" I said as I wrote my notes, "may I ask who's calling, please?
"Yep. John Marshall."
"Thank you, what company are you calling from?" as I open my TELEMARKETERS contact folder....
"Ben Ready's office."
"Thank you, help me with the spelling of the last name"
"R-E-E-D-Y"
By then, I reviewed my notes and said, "We had asked to be placed on your Do Not Call List."
He did not respond to my statement, and I was silent for about 20 seconds then said, "Can you help me with that or is there a supervisor I should talk to?"
"Nah," he smacked, "I can take care of it."
"Thank you. Goodbye."
There had been four previous phone calls regarding business insurance; property, casualty, liability. I took detailed notes - including contact information - and passed them on to the proper executive, who declined to take calls.
It seems to me that the caller is from a telemarketing company who is working on a local campaign in south central texas on behalf of TIA Group.- Caller: PT Services on behalf of TIA Group
