The caller ID'ed himself as Joe with Todd Harris and Associates here in Houston, TX. He asked to speak with my boss (by name), and I let him know he was not available. He asked if I had any other owners, partners, or whoever is in charge. I let him know I had no other people, and I would gladly take a message. He said 'No, it's alright. I'll just call back later.'
After hanging up with him, I Googled the company, and no such law firm, financial services, or any other business has that name in the Houston area.

Someone wanting to introduce himself as at 401(k) plan advisor. Extremely rude.  Keep cutting me off and would not let me finish a single sentence.  Started lecturing me on how they are not a vendor but a service provider. Wanted to speak to our CFO.  I don't know how expects to get any business with that attitude.

This guy- "Bob Carpenter" calls and is talking very very very fast (cause you know- he is IMPORTANT!!!!) so he asks for my Boss by his first name as if they are Lifelong buddies. I ask who is calling and he replies "Bob- Bob Carpenter......." i reply "ok.......and where are you calling from?" He tells me (again very very fast cause he is IMPORTANT)"the office of Richard Mouldnehauer"

OH!!!!! Well THAT clears it right the Eff up- now doesn't it?!?!?!?!?!?!

I made him repeat the office name because he was talking so fast you would think his side job might just be an autioneer...

I ask what the call is regarding and he tells me (now quite annoyed that i DARE ask so many questions- after all, he is BOB CARPENTER FROM THE OFFICE OF RICHARD MOULDENHAUER!!!!!!!)

so he tells me the call is regarding a "business matter"

i mentioned that you know, my boss expects me to ask these Questions of all callers....

His reply "oh of course!!!"

Called main office line. Hung up on them twice. Regarding the comments in this thread, it seems as if the company name changes often.

Got one just now from "Louis Curto's office" about our "fiduciary compliance."  Extremely rude, kept interrupting when I tried to get more information, refused to leave a message.

Just got a call from this number.  Claimed to be "Mike from Higgenbothem".   Very suspicious.  Would not leave a number.

guy calls in and introduces himself as "Mike Stevens- that's Stevens with a "V" (ooooooo!!!! color me impressed Mike Stevens with a "V!!!!)
asks for Boss- says he is from "the office of Moudenhauer and Associates"

when asked what the call was for he repllied "well it is Business Owner related soo i wiil discuss it with him"
I replied "well okaaayyyyyy...but he asks me to ask what someone is calling about- i wil see if he has any interest in speaking to you" and then put him on hold until i transferred directly to VM.

Caller said he was calling from Tim Yurek's office in Wilkes-Barre. Caller said that their company meets with businesses about business planning. Beware. Could not even pronounce one of the owner's first names. Phone number they gave was for Tier 1 Capital. Scam.

A man representing himself as Jim Miller called, asked for boss by name.  I asked what it was regarding, he became rude, said, “Insurance.”  I asked that he be more specific, he said, “commercial insurance, and how we can save you money.”  I replied that we do all our insurance business through local vendors, at which point he became VERY belligerent and said “Well, we ARE a local vendor, and we want to save you money, and I would like to speak with the actual decision maker.”  After biting my tongue, I asked which local vendor he was representing, and he very quickly replied, “XYZ-ABC.”  I asked him to hold, that I would try to reach our CFO to discuss this business further.  He said, “you do that.”  What "Jim Miller" obviously DOESN'T know is that XYZ-ABC is owned and operated BY OUR CFO'S UNCLE & COUSIN! HA HA HA HA !!!

Put him on hold, left him there for about 2 minutes.  When I went back to get his contact info, he had hung up.

It’s obviously a scam.  Did tell our CFO, since he'll want to let his uncle & cousin know someone is using his company name.

I actually hope the @$$wipe calls back again.  I think I can have a little fun with this one.  He'll be cursing in his sleep after dealing with me.

EXTREMELY rude lady called and asked for the owner by name. I asked the standard "who is calling and what is the call regarding questions"....to which i was told I was "just the girl who answers phones and didn't need to know". When I said that he requires detailed call info in order to take calls she said, "i don't think that telling you about confidential  business owner l information is what (insert owners name here) would like" to which I said well I cant put you through and he's out of the office anyways. Last thing she was starting to say before I hung up was "well couldn't you have just done you job and tell me that in the first place" Real nice way to speak with a company you are trying to do business with....
