This company called me form this number about 15 times a day ...they were the rudest people i've ever come in contact with...they couldn't give me any information, just that I owed over $1000 for an account I never had...WATCH OUT!!!

I believe what they do is this:  they call the person's number they are looking for and every number near that (i.e., if the person's number is555-555-1212, they will call that numbe, and in case someone has written it down wrong along the way, they will call every number near that number and drive people nuts until people figure out who it is they are trying to call (that's why they say the name). I figured it out once.  it was someone in my State who had the same first name and whose number was very similar to mine, but not quite it.  So, I called them up and said:  here's the number you're looking for for a person with that first name. Now leave me alone.  And they stopped calling me.

if you do get someone on the phone when you answer, just blow a whistle into the phone. that's gotta hurt!

They have called and called all hours. When I checked my caller ID I found them on there about 5 times but no message ever left. Not only that they were doing the same to my mother who is in her 80's and handicapped which makes me even more angry. Finally someone told us who he was and gave another phone number to call as I was not at home at the time they spoke with my daughter.  Sure enough when I checked the internet it was RPM Collection. I also asked who they were and they would not tell me I told her she didn't have to as I already knew as it came up on my caller ID as ReceivablePerf & a phone #410-202-0027. She said it was a bill owed to EMBARQ for $29.00. Was insistant that I pay that bill right then and told me my conversation was being put down as to what I was saying. I told her I didn't care that I wasn't paying them and until Embarq proved to me that I owed them that money I wasn't paying anyone but it had to come from Embarq. I also questioned the fact on why they was calling my mother and she said we was looking for you.  NOW I AM TICKED !!!!  This is harrassment totally and they need to be stopped.

Not sure the details of call but the caller, an automated system calling herself Rhonda, nicely explains she has an important call and for me to return her call at 866-212-7408.  She keeps calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and leaves me message after message.  I am not wasting my minutes calling her back when I don't know what I'm getting this call for.  I'll be changing my number this week.  Hopefully, Rhonda does not get my new number!!!!

Beyond Statute of limitations.  This is called "Zombie Debt Collections"  They try to resurrect old debts that are completely expired and have no obligationto be paid, trying to confuse someone into paying an old debt that the consumer probably won't remember, so they don't know the original balance, so that number is usually inflated.  Either way; it is a scam and is totally illegal.  Don't fall for it.

i got a message from a cute sounding girl the first time from this number, then the second time they barely stayed on the line long enough on my voice mail to say the whole number. after the third time i finally called back and got some agitated person. and when i asked who it was she asked how i got "their" number. (the "their" clearly indicating that i was calling an organization of some sort)

become as well versed as you can with this information, when they call cite the appropriate rule they are breaking and threaten lawsuit

i got RPM company phone call 3month ago. they said i owed AT&T money and told me phone number. i told them this isnt my phone number. but they still call again and again. i called AT&T they said i never owe their money even this phone dont owe any money. but they never stop to call me. they are very rude and nasty. when i try to explain they always hung up me.

This people called my house and the woman left a message as she knew me intimaly. The number she called from was 410-202-0027 and she left message with 866-212-7408 for me to call back.

get calls on home and cell phone and they do not leave a msg so have no clue who they are or what they would.  who do you turn them in too?

I've been getting calls two or three times a day on my home phone and on my cell phone for the past few weeks asking for someone who doesn't live here and I have no clue what it's about.  I tried to call back this morning to tell them to quit calling and I got a recording and was asked to hold.  I waited for a couple of minutes and then I decided not to hold and hung up.  One time when I answered, they just hung up.  That doesn't make sense to me at all.  I'm also getting calls from 703-291-9039 which is also RPM.  What are the remebies for this?  They are using my minutes.  They have also text-messaged me.  I don't use text messaging because it costs me extra.  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

So how do I find out why they called in the first place without them starting up the harrassing or multiple calls? I have no collection issues or new debts. I have only received one message from the number and they left a return number(couldn't understand the name though).

I just got a call from this #. For my daughter.  Caller said her name was "DESI" from RPM. She wasn't rude.

They called my parents house asking for me, when I haven't lived there for over 10 years.  I'm not sure what they wanted, because when my dad asked them what it was about they said "a business matter" and gave a return phone number.  I called that number and got someone who barely spoke English, so I asked for the person who called and they couldn't understand me so I hung up.

They have called my cell several times when I was unable to answer. I finally called them back. A lady with thick accent , when I asked, told me they were RPM [Google told me wh they were]. I told her I was on "do not call list" and wanted no more calls. She said they are not a telemarketer and not subject to do not call rules. She said she did not call me - that it was automatic by computer. She asked me for my cell #. I reluctantly gave it to her but repeated "no more calls" She asked me if I knew about opal [I think} she repeated O P A L . She said thank you and hung up. Do not know if I will hear from them again.

RPM think they are clever but they are not. They call from a different number 703-291-9039. But when you answer a recorded message stating "Hello, this is Wanda please call me at work. The number is 866-212-7408." I know all there tricks and they can't fool me. I know all the numbers they call from. Tricks are for kids. You stupid [***].

They had been calling us due to a phone service bill for which we had cancelled the services and talked with representatives of the company and confirmed that no money was due.  We filed a complaint with our Attorney General's office, and will see how this works out.  To anyone else dealing with incorrect collections, get ahold of your state's attorney general's office since they usually have consumer help available for collection agency complaints.

Actually, I believe these people specialize in telecom collections. I think that EMBARQ, SPRINT and AT&T may be cooking their books ala WorldCom/Bernie Ebbers.

I have turned my matter over to the State Attorney and Federal Attorney for investigation and have been promised a response from both.

These people are not oly calling for me and hanging up when I answer, but they are now calling my NEIGHBORS!! I hope my attorney has fun with this one!
