- RPM=REJECTS!The Missouri Attorney General announced today the number one consumer complaint last year was against debt collectors. 2225 total complaints.
Many consumers complained of harassment even though they owed no money! Others complained companies failed to stop harassing them even though they informed them!
The question now before the Missouri Court of Appeals is whether the MO AG has the authority to protect these consumers in such cases.
I really hope the Court rules in the consumers favor and the worm dirt at RPM is severely punished! - AnnI have received numerous calls from RPM every day and half of them don't even know their own name. They sound very unprofessional when I speak with them. Also this is the second collections agency in a week to contact me about the same debt. How can that be?

- stuck replies to stuck| 2 repliesdo you send money to a po box that does'nt sound correct , should i ask for a real address?
- not Michael replies to stuck| 1 replyFirst ask them to prove that you owe them money. From the other posts on here it sounds like they might be asking you to pay a bill someone else owes.
If they find a bill of yours that was not paid send a check whereever they say. Pay the extra to send it "return receipt requested". Keep that receipt and the cancelled check forever, its proof you paid. - stuck replies to not MichaelSO send the money to a po box?
- stuckthey said that it is already on my credit report, so does that mean it's already a write off?

- Wink replies to debbie| 2 repliesHi Debbie, can you give me more details on your process? And/or a contact for your lawyer. I would love to do this same thing..
Thanks - Just Me Nae replies to daveSame thing happened to me in 2005. I paid one collection agency, they never forwarded it to the original creditor and another collection called me on same account. Be aware and be cautious. Check to see if the statutes of limitations have expired. If so, then they are in violation.
- Just Me Nae replies to Blink BettyThey just called me twice in 15 minutes. They've called me before. I assume they left a voicemail, haven't checked, yet. But they can't be up to no good. Correspondence I received at my mom's address had conflicting information and an account I knew nothing about. Then again, many of my old accounts have reached their statutes of limitations and talking to them could create a whole new set of problems.
