Calling to tell me tell me there is a complaint filed against me.

A recorded message looking for ?????  The recording went silent so I couldn't hear any name. Possibly looking for my step-dad's daughter who I know nothing about. A few times a year we get calls lfrom lawyer's offices looking for her. Recording said to press 0 to speak with an operator. Got recorded music, then a click where they hung up. Probably a scam.

Called & left a message and said they are looking for someone I do not know for a new claim. So sick of these kinds of calls! My Blocked Call list is HUGE!

Called my Moms number saying they were looking for my where abouts about a formal complaint that has been filed against me. How they even got the number is beyond me. Totally fraud. Enough to freak anyone out. They need to be shut down!

With five dollars for every whine that "they had all my information" I could retire next week. Names and SSN are easy to recite from an old loan application. Those data do not support anyone's liability. Junk PDL collectors never have what they actually need: proof a person owes, state licensing or bonding, or the stones to make good on their stupid legal threats.

"High-risk loanees" are not the issue here. Let's not confuse credit extension with moldy junk debt, or imply that people who can't afford a conventional bank deserve abuse from come-lately collectors. Let us also avoid glossing over the complaints of those who never executed a loan, had long ago paid in full, and mistakenly borrowed from crooks in states where payday lending is illegal.

Maybe someday all you goons will "discover" that the FCRA and FDCPA are not mere suggestions and that your entire fraudulent business model is dissolving beneath you.

From that not quite correct sentence, I think you should examine what you thought you had. The FTC's Do Not Call registry does not "block" anything and applies only to cold sales callers. The object is to submit phone numbers under your control. You don't plug in numbers of unwanted callers and hope the DNCR casts a protective spell on your phone line.

No, your phone number is registered, not you or your name. The federal Do-Not-Call registry exists to help enforce the Telemarketing Sales Rule. Please note the operative term ''marketing''. A debt collector is not a sales person and is therefore not covered. The few remaining state lists share this limitation. No, registration is nearly instantaneous. Sales callers have a month's grace period to scrub their dialers, eliminating any recently registered numbers.

Don't tell them to stop, don't make waves, and eventually decide to pay them in blind hope the ringing quits.

Called at 11:43 am eastern time. I didn't answer and no message was left. CID said Toll Free Call. I never answer calls from names and numbers I don't know. Probably a scam.

Another call from this number @ 11:09 am eastern time. Recording says notification about a pending case for ????  No name is given. The recording goes silent for a few seconds, then continues on with the recording. Press any key to be connected to a representative or please call back. Didn't wait to hear what the number was. I have received calls from this number several times and have never  answered. Today they left a message for my daughter- in-law stating they needed to reach her as a formal complaint had been filed against her. Glad I found this site as I know it is a scam!

This number calls me everyday multipal times a day they won't stop. What can I do about this?

Same type as everyone else. Claim there is a complaint filed against my husband. Total scam. I add the number to my blocked numbers. Although, they use several and change it frequently. This has been going on for over 2 years. So sick of this crap, clearly I'm not buying your bull so find a new target.

Do yourself a favor block all of these numbers, they appear to be related as they all call with either the same exact message or something similar. Total scam. If they were a legitimate collection agency or any other place they would actually say their company name.

I got the same call, same message about a federal complaint was filed against me.  Since I'm a detective, I traced the call back to a collection agency.  I also have instant access to nation wide Federal courts and no complaint has been filed against me.  While they are a collection agency, they are not following the rules and are deceptive.  That is against the FTC rules.  So yes its a scam.
