FRIENDS - DO NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO THE PEOPLE THAT POST INFORMATION TO THESE SITES DEFENDING SCAVENGER DEBT COLLECTORS.  Scavenger debt collectors buy old paper for $0.01 on the dollar and try to trick people into incurring another obligation to pay or convince them that they're somehow obligated to pay this old debt.  They are not collecting on behalf of the original creditor, and you have no legal or ethical reason to even deal with them let alone pay them.  Do not answer their questions and do not confirm anything to them.  Scavenger debt collectors are bottom feeders that are a scare on our society.  They pray on the elderly and other good people that are not informed on such matters.  Learn your rights and never be afraid to hang up on them.  They relay on your courtesy and take advantage of it.

This is a collection agency that deal with overdue medical bills.

U people, every time I hear those two words I think of some white female or male. Who do not have a clue. Sometimes people who loses thier jobs have a very hard time paying their bills. A GM plant that has been in my city for almost a hundred years is closing their doors in 2009. Before you start sterotypeing people. Watch the news,read the newspaper, and pray U PEOPLE do not lose your job.

These types of calls are scams, common ones at that. You may owe something, but they are not the people you should be talking to. They make up debts, or bring up old and payed-for debts.

Give them nothing.

In respopnse to the high and mighty who is probably in the most debt... if you actually read the comments on here you would know that most of us did settle our debts and this worthless company is comming back, in my case 5 years later, saying we still owe them money.  Get a real job and stop harrassing hard working people for your dinky commission.  I have been called a liar, and stupid by the representatives of this company.  It has got to stop!!!!!

"Pissed" What ever came of your situation, because I am fighting the same thing.  I settled a debt with them years ago and now they are comming back saying I owe more than the original debt.  I am sending them a do not contact letter, but I don't want these as@#oles to destroy my credit.

I am a northstar employee I have a real job and I want to tell you that when you are dealing with peoples credit and thier financial affairs its very difficult We are trying to help people resolve thier financial problems when ignorant people like you feel that they dont have to pay thier debts stupid people need to know when you co sign for someone you are gauranteeing the loan or the debt if they default the co signer is liable for the debt know what you are talking about before you look even more stupid then you are

If Northstar Location Services is professional, why do they not know current phone numbers of their targets? They continue to call for someone who does not live here. They may have been a previous tenant but who knows. These agencies are the lowest form of life - their overhead is zero because they don't even check for correct phone numbers. Real scumbags.

If you work for North Star, then you know about the shady tactics you are using.  DOn't give others moral lessons, when your is in question on this board.

Not only is Nunya a collector, but he/she is also a liar. It is clear by some of the jargon you use that you are a debt collector.
Stay off the phones people!  Always request any communication be in writing.
Never give them you account information.  If you must send money, make it in the form of certified funds via money order, etc.
Look up "debt validation" online and make sure the debt is actually yours and that they have a right to collect on the account before you send them money.

I got a call from NorthStar last week asking for someone named "Mary" and when I said they didn't have the right number, they said "Oh, okay...bye Mary."  Now they call and call and call and I just never answer the phone.  Caller ID is a beautiful thing.

Northstar, and others like them have been calling several times a day since February -in an attempt to collect a debt.  It has always been a recorded message until this morning.  I was so surprised to hear the voice of an actual person calling himself Cole on the line.  He asked for a person who has not had our phone number for nine years to call him back.  I called the number he left to tell him I didn't know that person and got a recorded message from some sort of sex line called Sweet Sensations!  I checked the number twice to be sure.  I think those people are very bad at business and are just playing games.

If I decide I dont want to pay any one they can go to hell. They can report to my credit and that's it. You people at northstar must be dying to make a couple of bucks, you are in no position to talk to people about morals.

I will admit it I am a debtor.  That is what happens when you give 18 year old college students credit cards with $5000 limits.  I have graduated and am working full time trying to pay it off.  I used to actually receive a bill in the mail from Northstar every month and I paid it. Recently they have stopped sending me a bill and just keep calling me.  Every month I make a copy of the last bill I received in the mail and send in the copy with a check.  I am obviously trying to pay off my debt.  I wish they would cut those of us who actually pay a little slack.

You are insulting and rude. You have no idea why some people are in their situations. I give you that people should pay their debts. But you buy debts from other people and then act like we owe you for the original when you bought it for pennies on the dollar. I owe the original creditor. You want to act like a patron saint for the credit industry then you, fine. But people wanting to be treated with the same respect due to any human being and have the letter of the law followed, circumstances or not, deserve just that

BEWARE of Northstar. They have been calling my phone for 3 weeks now. On a debt that has already been paid. This debt was taken care of 6 years ago. The man is constantly calling my phone, in which I didn't even have anything to do with it. Threatening to arrest my husband. But they are refusing to send us any type of letter stating who they are. I'm assuming because I told they guy that I was going to discuss it with an attorney. They are scammers, just trying to get your credit card or bank account number. Anything you receive from them, discuss with an attorney to make sure it is legal and you do actually owe them the money.

all i got to say about this company is that it sucks the people who work there dont know how to conduct business without lying and acting like other people then who they are they are the worst company ever. and dick green out of new work is a real winner him and his 1/2 percent commission that he makes which probably totals 500 a week nice job there bud lol

You are really stupid, you say this site isn't for professionals with perfect grammar, but then you claim to be this top notch debt collector. It seems to me that you are a bit unsure of yourself, maybe you are in debt yourself but just in denial about your situation.
