Nasty messages being left from Northstar.

I too am reeling from this company as a result of a divorce.  My ex-husband filed bankruptcy following the divorce.  He was court-ordered to pay the debts and now no longer has to.  As a result, they are coming after me.  I have not seen a bill from this company they are claim I owe for 15 years.  It is not even the same-named company as the credit card once was.  The amount that they saw I owe also changes from month to month.  I write them a letter and then they go away for a few months.  But -- as usual, they always return.  I did follow the advice on this site an write a letter which is registered and has a return receipt.  I hope it works.  I am tired of their nasty, nasty, nasty voice mails.

Call was from 866-677-2658 from Northstar.  These people continue to call my elderly mother (looking for another family member).  I have told them on repeated occasions to remove her number, and yet they continue to call.  I am going to file a complaint with the FTC!

The FDCPA is very specific about the restrictions on calling the work place. One shot to verify employment.

These people are the lowest form of scum that has ever existed in the entire universe.
What kind of scum would harrass someone after they have been told that their wife has passed away not 20 minutes earlier.
These people don't even rate high enough to be called scum!

These people are so low I cannot think of a word in any language that would even begin to discribe them.
What kind of "things" would call when they know that you have lost a family member and on the day of the funeral.

These people keep calling. Talked to them once and told them that I had never heard of them. Was told that I had. I asked them how. If the debt they were calling about was legitimate I would have recieved something by mail. That was a month ago. They are still calling. Checked all my creditors and I am in good standing so I know they are scam artists.
Had call today from someone who sounded like he was drunk. When I own your company you will hear one thing. YOUR FIRED!!!!!!

I keep getting phone calls from the number above and from 866-224-9822.  This has gone one for months.  They are looking for another person who USED to have my phone number - and no matter what I say or do they keep calling me!!! I am not this person, this is not her number...I want them to stop calling and harrassing me with their stupid voice mails and then you can't even call them back!!

Northstar has called my number several times looking for Mathew. I called and asked to remove the number. I was told it could not be done. This company is so off base.

These people have been calling my cell phone (don't know how they got the number) about a debt from over 10 years ago.  Funny thing about the last call, the scumbag says he's from Discover Financial Services (bull crap) instead of the usual Northstar Location Services.  Isn't that illegal?

They called about 6 months ago looking for some guy I never heard of. They asked if he was a realative or friend.The man was actually polite and apologized saying they must have a wrong number for him. Now they are calling for him again. The messages are starting to get nasty. My favorite is where the woman says, "by listening to this message you are acknowledging you are so and so". What? Sorry, I have he right to listen to my messages and maybe you have the wrong number? IDIOTS!

They call day and night.  They call my cell phone.  They call my cell phone when at work.  They refuse to give me their address so that I may write them a letter to stop calling.  They leave messages on the answering machine that are of private subject matter so that everybody can listen to them.  They are very rude.

I've been getting calls from this company for some time. All are different numbers with different reference #'s s well. They are always looking for my daughter who hasn't lived with me for many years. They know my name and that i am related.  One has admited they have her contact info but she is not answering them.  It is North Star (there are actually two) Northstar Location LLC and Northstar Capital Acquisitions. Both are collection agencies.  I've done some research and have found that it is illegal for them to call friends or relatives and mention they are a collection agency.  It is ALSO illegal for them to be calling other people when they have the persons contact information!!! I am sending a ceaze letter to them both since i don't know which one it is.  I have verbally told them to not call me anymore cause I can't help them.  I've already relayed the info to my daughter and it's in her hands now.  Either way they are totally illegally continueing to call me since i have verbally told them and they have her information. What i've also learned is never admit there you owe any money.  This will allow them to reactive any past bills even if they have been settled or past the allowed years or even if you never had a bill from a particular company (they do this too!)  Everybody seems to think that this letter will do the trick.  At this point they are offically harassing me.  I may even take it to the police.

Attention ALL Peoples.... Under no Circumstance should you recall any 800 or toll free phone number, by federal law, if you call them they Can retrieve the phone number you are calling them from for that call. This allows them to get more information and contact sources to collect the debt. And Believe me, they will leave no stone unturned.

Caller Id is the greatest invention, and if your interested online and in some stores, they now have talking caller-id boxes, and some have blocking capability. So you may be able to stop those vultures from harrassing you any more.

I got a call from 866-224-9825, I answered and the man on the line asked for somebody called "Armando". I have had lots of calls for this person, so I replied "That person doesn't live here", the man  repeated what I said and I said "that's correct". Then he goes on to ask "Are you sure?"

What kind of question is that?? Of course I'm sure!!! So damn annoying!!!

They are calling my phone number in my name for my husband's ex girlfriend.

I've been receiving calls from this number and didn't answer them until yesterday.  It is in fact Northstar and in my situation they were trying to collect a debt for a DISCOVER card.  I have never had a Discover card, nor will I.  Turns out they're looking for my father.  Unfortunately I am Andrew Jr. and have a totally different social security number but they can't seem to get that in their system correct.  I gave "Heather" the correct number yesterday, only to receive another harrassing call today from a guy.  After detailing yesterday's call to him, I was called a liar, and told I need to pay my bills.  He then promptly hung up on me.  I called right back and spoke with "Diane" and asked for the person in charge.  I informed her of the situation and she said my phone number has been removed and I would no longer receive calls.  I stated that if I do I would pursue legal action against them.

called asking for a person that is related but does not live with me and I do not see hardly ever...... Do not call again.....

VERY VERY Rude!!!! They called ME conserning a family member.
