Woman left a message asking for Sarapio Reyes. I do not know anyone by that name! I have had this same number for 12 years!! She said she was with Northstar Debt Collection and if I was not that person to disregard the call, geesh! I hope they stop calling! They have been calling at different times for 2 months. This is the first time they left a message. I am on Do Not Call registry too!!! What's up with that? Maybe some dummy used my number for something! UGH!!!

You are right! Too many people over extend themselves financially & when they can't pay their debts, they try to avoid debt collectors in a number of ways. As much as I hate to admit it, I've received several calls from Northstar & almost never answer. I know its wrong, I should just answer!  I guess my reason for not answering is embarrassment because at the moment I can't pay even a dollar on my outstanding debts.  I never anticipated that after getting a college degree, that I wouldn't be able to secure a job that would pay me enough to pay my bills.  Nonetheless, this is the situation. It is just so pathetic, I created a debt that I cannot currently pay & I don't know how to face the music & at least talk to the debt collector when they call.  So for those debt collectors out there just trying to the job they were hired to do, not everyone thinks of you as evil...I know you hear every excuse, complaint, & empty promises to pay...yet you still have to make the calls every day to those debtors that really had no business taking out a loan or credit in the first place. Just remember some debtors never intended to default on the obligation & some or ashamed of their irresponsibility.

I owe them nothing, the person doesn't live here. They keep calling and they call my limited cell phone, and home phone. finally I asked the woman to *uck my *ock and I'd give her $5, never called back. You have to get tough with these people. I was polite the first dozen calls. I hope they recorded it, call me and you get what I have to tell you. I call you and it's a different story.  

Do not call registry does not apply to debt collectors.  Send them a cease and desist.

Its all a bluff. Unless they take you to court. If it is after 4 years your debt is time barred. They are part of the elite banking cartel. Research and know your rights. Pay Cash and let them eat it. If they call you at work it is in volation of the law(Not that they follow it). Remind them of that. Do your best to avoid going into debt.

I never heard of them and do not want to receive calls from them.

We've gotten several hang-ups today from this number. It appears they are a debt collection agency, and an unscrupulous one at that, but they're testing my patience with over 6 hang-ups at our business today.

Dbtrs can be rude!?? Excuse me but I don't call you at work and HARRASS you illegally. I don't used scare tactics and bulls**t to get money that isn't owed to the collection agency in the first place! THATS RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I signed a contract with legit company - not some blow-hard collection agency that was stupid enough to by the debt for cents on the dollar in the first place.

I receive several calls a day from this company North Star Locators. I have asked them to stop calling they have the wrong Number, however they continue to call my cell phone and home phone.

Debt collector / location services. When you locate me, you still won't get what I owe.

Just another ignorant debt collector. Can't collect what you can't find. catch me if you can!!

Ignorant collection companies. Smart phones are the best. Phone doesn't ring once it's been blocked and any message you leave goes right to the delete folder.

Don't take their call. Let it go to voice mail and block the number. Can't get blood from a turnip.

They are trying to collect. Even with a court order they still have to find the money. Let them waste money and sue you.

Put your money in an offshore account. Increase their overhead so they eventually will realize it doesn't make business sense to buy other creditors debt.

Btw, credit companies will lie to these morons and tell them you owe more than what you actually owe. They will file a law suit based on a fraudulent debt statement.

Threatening? That's when I ask for their home address and offer to meet them with cash there. Probably wont call back after that.

one word, SCAM..don't give them your time or day. let me guess, they can settle your bill for a fraction of the cost. just give us your credit card #.

The BBB will not do anything and no longer has any credibility.  Contact your local AG and ask them for further assistance.

Someone called from Northstar Location Services and left a VMM.  They gave a number to call back and said it was a debt collection.  They did not say who they were trying to reach.  We do not have any bad debts, but I called back because I was concerned there was some sort of scam out there showing we had a bad debt or something.  I was on hold, then got a message to leave a message.  There was no way I was going to do that.  Seems very suspicious.

This number has called and left a message twice.  (For some reason, the number also shows up as 855-454-1080, in addition to 866-224-9825 -- another indicator of nefarious practices.)  I called them back and they were looking for someone named James Lanza.  I have never heard of this person.  I have also had my phone number for 16 years, so this outfit is clearly just fishing for whatever information they can to get into their database.  I told them I'd report them to the attorney general if they called me again, because they are clearly not using legitimate information to find whoever they are looking for, nor do they state the name of the person they're looking for in the message they leave or the nature of the debt or to whom the debt is allegedly owed.  I work from home, am on the DNC list (for all that's worth) and I cannot be bothered with spam-like  phone calls such as this one.

Well considering that this is a debt collection call, the Do Not Call list does not apply, something you should already know.  Further, it is against the law to leave a lot of that information on a voicemail or answering machine.

It's North Star Location services. They've been tracking me down for several cards. I have a phone number set up with no voice mail. They only have that number so it's impossible to reach me. I have caller ID since it's a cell phone and I keep blocking each number that comes through. The number is based in another state I once lived in, so they think they're calling me in that state.  I use Google voice as my real number with voice mail and it's assigned to my current state. They don't have that one and can't get it. I'm unemployed now and they can't get a thing from me. I'm not against paying but I literally do not have the money now, so they're wasting their time calling and filing judgments against me. If they do serve you and file judgment, you get "evidence" of what you owe. Pay nothing more than that. They may try to tack on court and lawyer fees but that's not in the "evidence" they provided. Just don't answer their calls and don't answer the door if you don't want to get served. Getting served won't make anything worse. Plus having a cop or some weirdo knocking on your door every few days gets annoying. The people they hire to serve are paid by the serve delivered and many I've talked to are being tracked down by their own debt collectors since they get paid crap. It's like $15-$30 per serve.
