You sound like a shill because you use vague terms like "this service" but never describe what it does. Re. "but no one is mentioning if the service is a scam," did you miss the *SEVERAL* previous posts where *SCAM* is mentioned? Sounds like people who got payday loans got signed up by "this service" behind their backs in the fine print. paymentassistance101.com is registered to Domains By Proxy via GoDaddy, a favorite tactic of scammers who don't want to be found, created just ~4 months ago on 02/09/2011. Scammer! Scammer! Scammer! Scammer! Scammer!

I now have an overdraft charge with Chase because of this. Does anyone know if there is some fine print that I overlooked? I decided against getting a loan and yet they took $30.00 from me. I need to know how to fix this. I have contacted the bank and am going to file a claim. Unbelieveable!

I woke up this morning as well to $30 missing from my bank account. I immediately called the number that was posted on my account and talked to some lady who obviously is not in the USA, and told her I want my money back now. I told her I never authorized them to take money out of my account and she told me that I was signed up for it when I took out the loan. She couldn't tell me with what company and then tripped herself up telling me that it's automatic, even if I didn't sign up for it. She told me I would have my money back as early as tomorrow but it could take 10 - 20 days. She then proceeded to offer me other products and wanted to ask me questions, I got pissed and started to swear at her and hung up. I called my back and she told me that they actually set themselves up to have $30 taken out of my account monthly.. I told the woman from this company that I am reporting them to everyone I can. I will update and let you know if they refund my money, since no one else has updated.

Applied for several payday loans.  This company somehow got my information.  From what I can gather they are some services company based in Utah.  I waited for someone to answer the phone to no avail so I have dispatched a legal email.  I will dispute the charges with my bank once the transaction is actually posted as it is still in pending status.  I get the feeling that I  will get no resolution with these people.  Anyone who has been wronged and has not had the matter resolved please contact defcon1005@hushmail.com and we will file a small claims lawsuit as well.  You may want to contact the FTC, Visa, and Utah AttorneyGeneral.  I will be cancelling my bank account as well because I'm also getting calls from Pakistan that are a racquet claiming to be the FBI.   When I informed the FBI about this they advised me of a fake collections scam and referred me to the Secret Service.  Be careful.

I checked my bank account to find that it had been deducted $30. I didn't recognize the company and called my bank to confirm the name. They told me it looked associated with a loan funding or assistance program. I tried to call the number because the charge shows up at PMT ASSISTANCE 8662357681 but there is a recording that asks you to email at support@membershipcare.com, or support@funding.com. I am disputing this charge to my bank and probably will eventually close my account. Unbelievable!

This is a version of the automatic debit scam as described by the FTC here http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/telemarketing/tel06.shtm  It's frequently mysterious as to how they got your account info in the first place. They might be fraudulently charging accounts at random, or you might have provided your account for a free something like $-off coupon or a shopping card (just pay for shipping), or provided your account when you applied for a payday loan, and buried in the fine print is authorization to auto-charge your account every month with 3rd-party, perhaps difficult-to-cancel subscriptions. The methods used to get you to "agree" to the fine print is endless and they come up with new schemes every day.
By law, all 3rd-party phone billers have to include phone numbers with their charges. If you don't see a number on your bill, call your phone company, tell them you need the biller's number and they should be able to retrieve the number for you from their records. To stop the billing, call the biller to kill the subscription and get your money back and if that fails, tell your card issuer or bank that fraud has occurred and have them refund the money and replace the account - this is important, the account must be replaced because criminals have it and they can charge again or sell account info to other criminals. Report to the Internet Crime Complaint Center http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.

This organization removed $30 from my personal account. After 19 minutes of repetitive hold music I finally spoke with a human who was quite helpful and polite. She said the money would be refunded within 7 to 10 days and gave me a confirmation number. If the $30 is not replaced in one week, I will be taking further action as this was not authorized and because of it, my account is now negative. I'm sure there are penty of legal loopholes they can slither through but I'd like to inconvenience them and add to their already sizeable negative reviews. I also informed my bank of this in the hopes that they will remove the overdraft fee resulting from this shady business practice.

This company did an unlawful transaction on my check account and I did not use their services.  This caused my bank account to go into overdraft. My bank did refund the overdraft fee as a courtesy, but I would still like to file a complaint with paymentassistance101.com and funding guarantee.com.  I actually contacted fundingguarantee.com at 866-315-8544 and was told they are a 3rd party to paymentassistance.com.  There is no contact number for that company, only email.  I am wanting to report both companies to the BBB.  Does anyone have any other contact info for either company (mailing address)?  Sorry a** companies!!
