- annoyed1| 7 repliesThey called my parents house to ask for my husband (who has never lived there) and my brother and I saying my husband is overdue on his payments (which I know we fell behind in..but we had called them to make payment plans) we have been AMEX customers for a long time. They said we needed to pay the full balance and since my brother and I are authorized users (even though we never signed anything) our credit would be ruined. They are horrible and annoying. AMEX needs to do something quick before their rep goes down the drain

- ex_collector replies to annoyed1| 6 repliesI used to work for collectcrap in the amex department. It was hell! They treat their employees so bad. I was there for 4 years making $11.00 an hour with no raise and only 1 review after my 6 months. They speak down to their employees and sadly we took it out on our customers. Most employees leave with mental stress or depression. We really do work for amex, collectcorp is just a 3rd party company hired to work amex accounts.
Mangers actually train us to tell you that after 2 months of past due accounts you will be cancelled. We are also told to suggest borrowing money from family and friends no matter what your financial situation. I once was given a written warning for talking to a lonely 87yr old woman for an hour and refusing to ask her for money.
I also wanted to let you all know about "unlimited charge cards" they are not unlimited, they have no preset limit, that means we can stop you at point of sale whenever we want because we feel you have charged to much. Then we are told to collect that balance even if you are not past due. The worst part is, when applying for this type of card we are misleading. Without actually lying we put a spin on it and sell you an unlimited card.
We are forced to work every Holiday besides Christmas and call on Sundays. - ex_collector replies to ex_collector| 2 repliesYou may be thinking why would amex hire a company as shady as collectcorp...well whenever amex management visit collectcorp we are told to put on a smile and act as if we are happy and treated good or else.
Oh and you information is not safe at collectcorp!!
Reps leave account numbers on top of desks and in drawers where cleaning crews can see them. People throw out scraps of paper with important info in the garbage without using the shredder boxes. Something should be done about collectcorp!
We employees tried calling the labour board and complaining but sadly nothing has been done, Amex customers need to contact amex and demand that they get rid of collectcorp for their security, right to be treated with respect and right to not be harrassed! - Ex_collector replies to ex_collectorone more thing we get family and friends numbers from a caller id program, so if you have ever called from someone elses phone, we will record it and begin calling that number looking for you!
- To Many CallsThis is a collection agency called Collect Corp. even after you have paid you bill to the current payments, they insist on calling for another payment. They want to bleed you for everything you have.

- FlorenciaThe have been calling for someone who does not live in this house. When I explained that the person they are trying to reach does not live in the house, I was told to deliver the message. I let them know I am not an answering service and not to call again. Here's hoping!

- cheleunfortunately, my brother signed me as an authorized user on his account and has not been able to pay his bill. i never even received the card he signed me up for and he even said that he discontinued my card about 2 years ago, but still someone named maggie from 866-251-2396 x6455 calls nonstop to speak with me. SOMEHOW she even freakin found my cell phone number and now she blows my cell phone up telling me it "is a very important matter"!!!!! WTF?! i understand it is a collection agency, but seriously, is there anything i can do?! they're calling about debt that isn't even mine!!!!!

- flgirl replies to ex_collector| 1 replyWow ....thats incredible info. What happens after you send a letter to all locations and to the president of Collectcorp Nicholas Wilson and also to the CEO of American Express expressing you receive no calls from this company and remind them to review the Fair Debt Collection Practice
Act Section 805a(1) do they stop calling at that point or do I bring action against them?? Please let me know thanks. - Michael-ji N.Had several calls from a "Tiggis", a female who did not want to provide me any information and who was asking for someone not at my cell phone number. Her extension is 6492.

- not the correct personCall for one of my brother-in-laws who has never had the phone number that they are calling.
The caller says his name is "Matt" and calling about the "important business matter we are conducting for you."
He isn't even calling the correct state. - GrumpyThis number belongs to a collection company called Collect Corp. They go after American Express customers. They call your neighbors, your family, anyone if they can not get you directly. If they do tell them you will not speak on the phone to protect your rights since they maybe recording the call, then hangup.

- CollectCorp| 6 repliesI used to work for CollectCorp and previously Amex. I am one of the third party agents on your blog hated for calling a customer for not paying back a charge card in 30 days. Amex waits 90-120 days on average before placement to an agency. Guess what! Lending on charge is not a right and at some point your account becomes a demand debt. Credit is not a right; period. I can tell you that we never called a customer on Good Friday, 4th of July, Christmas or New Year's. Management treats us completely fair working for and upon exit of the company. We always follow FDCPA including time zones, profanity, even tone and manner going above and beyond what the law requires. At the end of the day, if you want good credit. Make an arrangement to Pay Your Bill. Why this cat and mouse game?

- Why this cat and mouse game? replies to CollectCorp| 2 repliesYou're not serious are you? I imagine the next part of your rationalization is "I need this job to put food on the table." Your argument would hold a little more weight if you actually worked for the company that incurred the debt in the first place and didn't work for some parasitic 3rd party agency specializing in harassing people on the off chance that they may settle a debt that for whatever reason they didn't settle with the original creditor. Cease, desist. Get a real job that actually contributes to society's greater good and if not, get bent.
- Very annoyedReceived voice mail from a guy who said his name was Brindon Dwyer, saying that there was "an issue that had been directed to his office that he needed to discuss with me."
Number he left was 1-866-251-2396 X6486. Left no company name or what he was calling about. When I called the number back, got no company name, and a woman answered. She said she needed to know what number I was calling her from! I told her if she didn't know and couldn't provide a company name, she wasn't going to get any information from me.
I've had the rude calls from AMEX in the past (called my elderly father and each of my siblings on Christmas Eve about an alleged old company debt), so it wouldn't surprise me if it's them. - B*tch with ex. 6468This b*tch called my in-laws looking for me who was looking for my mother. My in-laws thought someone died from the way the lady was speaking to them. I called the number back and she was so rude! I was asking about my passport because I put my mom as my emergency contact. and she went along telling me that she had to ask my mother some questions regarding that... Turns out she was calling me because I was my mothers emergency contact. They will lie and say anything to make you call them back and give up info.
