BigA (good name), Dink Stover and Mary (she likes Dink): Just in case you're curious, I'm time traveling back from 2017 to let you know that the collection agency mentioned in 2009 is still a collection agency this morning in 2017. The reason people are on this site is because they just received a call from the number above. Anyway this number is still used by collection pukes.

They can't arrest you for the recovery of a debt. That is against the law. They might threaten it, but an overdue bill is a civil matter.

They can sue you, and if you don't respond to their summons, they could garnish your wages with your employer.

They have sent me a bill and keeps calling me. I have emailed them and sent them a letter infoming them I waiting on some financial help. But they seems to not care because they won't stop. I can't give them what I don't have.  I went online to pay them SOMETHING but it would only let me put in $75 I CAN NOT do that amount. Sad that they want their money so damn bad but aren't willing to take anything that I can afford to give them.

Your very correct they can not get you arrested for not paying. But they can take you to court for not paying., and yes as you said they can garnish your wages for a certain %.  Even that is bad enough. I tried to give them some payment and they would not take anything less then $75.  How sad is that.. They want their money but aren't willing to take what I can afford to give.

They would also need to take you to court since GARNISHMENT is done by court order too.

Caller left message to call Brian Nichols. Nothing more.  Did not mention where he is calling from or why he is calling.  I do not know anyone by that name.  Way too many frauds and scams out there!!  Has called several times.  Very annoying.  They call and hang up and turn around one second later and call back.  Caller is now blocked.

Just got a call from them, never got a letter in the mail so I have no clue what debt it may be over.  I don't answer calls unless I recognize the number.  I am on disability and can't garnish that.  I am low income so I cannot pay.

    Never pay debt collectors directly!
Repay debt directly to company owed even if it's just a few dollars a month.

Next time, use the internet to learn things instead of listening you your barroom buddies drunken legal advice.  That is not always possible.  If the debt was sold by the original creditor (yes it is legal to do that, it is called assignment and is spelled out in the contract you never read), then paying the original creditor will still leave you owing the bill the the assignee (Contract Law 101).

Very disturbing. All I get each month is a small retirement check and my disability check.  It takes everything I make to keep my house running.  I never heard of H R before today.  I thought they were calling about a job . (Human Resources, H R )
