The call was received January 10, 2011. The original number he called from was 7089330534. He said his name was Christopher and that he was calling from Vandal Communication.  He claimed the same, that he had been trying and that I had entered a contest to win a new car but I will receive one of the top four prizes. He left this number to call saying that it would be to my best interest to call back (8663129553 ext 109)

I have also received the exact same call last night. I have just now reported to the do not call site. I did try to call back today but got put on hold immediately and then call was transferred to someone's voice mail-I hung up, but may call back again to see what they have to say.

Caller ID showed this call came from 708-248-7172. He said his name was Christopher and that he was calling from Mitchell Communications.  He claimed he'd been trying to get ahold of me (first that I know of), and that I had entered a contest to win a new car but I will receive one of the top four prizes. He left this number to call saying that it would be to my best interest to call back asap as it was time sensitive (866-312-9553 ext 109).  BTW - I don't enter "contests" for new cars or other prizes for this exact reason...they just want your contact information for marketing purposes.

I got the same exact message from Christopher, each call is his last attempt, but he has made several, each coming from a different phone number, it is a recording, last two calls came in the last three days at 12:12 am and 12:38 am, waking up me and my baby, I've reported to the do not call site, but I need this to stop.

Just being asked by a consumer to google. The pitch is the same because you have various companies who we market for the same type of advertisement. Not a scam nor noting illegal about it. In reading a few of the comments it sounds like most people never bothered to call back. Once the they read it was a scam they commented it was a scam. I guess the many blogs are a chain reaction since the first person who never called back called it a scam. The next person who called and didnt called back called it a scam also. The promotion has being register with the AG office so they are much aware who we are. We record all the conversation so at no time is a person lied too we also use the records to clearify anyone making any false claim. We also send the communication to the consumer in writing. So we go to great links to show that we are honest. We also have over 90 employess so we have several phone numbers which list us on the caller ID when calling so we are night switching phone numbers. However we have changes are name to avoid name infringement.  Have a blessed day and I hope this helps

What they they get from you replies to scammed

Beware it is illegal to make false claims on the internet. You could be sued. Did the company get something from you? Did the company inflict any harm to you? Or can you justify how they scammed you.  Whats more interested this company has an excellent grade with the BBB a A- and they are non members.

    So called Ken
Maybe not a scam but fraud for sure.  I am not supposed to receive solicitations by phone and I didn't enter a contest. Therefore the call is nothing more than the spam in my email folder. The very need for the same company to call so many consumers with so many different prize lists speaks for itself.

I received a call from "Chis" from Vendel Communications at 1-866-312-9553 ext. 109, said I had enter a contest for a new car, he had been trying to reach for the receipt of one of the top five prizes.  Also said this wasn't a time-share or marketing call.  Did call back but did not leave a message - alarms bells sounded in my brain, knew this was a scam.

Exactly,me and my spouse attended the ceremony and received our flat screen.I actually googled the number and when I seen that neither individual that claims this is a scam has never attended the event,I thought I'll do a little Investigation myself and took a ride to Raleigh,NC to see what this was all about.I must say me and my wife enjoyed our self at the presentation.

Not sure why you would classify as a scam. As you you where explained that this is a form of adverstisement and the gifts are actually awarded as explained over the phone. We do not do random calling if you recieved a call its do to some ytpe of enter being completed. We are now redesigning thoese entries so that Vandell Communication name is more visible.  We are aware that a great deal of numbers that we have contact are on the dnc but the entry form that are completed are your request for us to contact you.  I do appreciate you taking the time to return the call. There have been so many people who have commented without calling back therefore assuming that they hunch was correct. We have posted many winners on various sites, Although it may seem like a lot negative responses its one sided because it dont reflect the number of guest who actually received what they where promised.

It appears that Sean and Christopher are one in the same.  Same bad spelling and grammar and the only people to say this is a legitimate call.  I do not fill-out registration forms for contest and the fact that they do not have your names shows they purchased a phone list and use the term contest to avoid the Do Not Call policy.  Plus, any contest that requires a deposit to receive you prize give, is not a legitimate contest, check with your state attorney.

My wife and I are supposed to go tomorrow night in Atlanta. I have poked around on the internet and found some legitimacy, but not sold yet. I googled the company mentioned in several postings before and called them, found out they are now SML Marketing, LLC.

My only question is has anyone in this blog actually gone, received a TV, Car or cash and had to give absolutely zero dollars to get it. I read the "deposit" line on the previous blog.

It is obviously a marketing tool, so the prize is the way around the do not call list, (which I am on). So I know it will take me 20 minutes to get there and listen for 90 minutes.

I would do that for a TV or "pipe dreams" a car.

Anyone have any actual experience here, or just people unhappy about the calls?

    Don'tCallChrisBack@Vandale
Just like all the others, we received a call from this person Chris at Ext. 109. We too are on the DO NOT CALL LIST. It truly is strange. My, my saw all of the emails about these calls.  He sure claims to have a lot to give away - with different names for the company, different names for employees, but always the same phone number with different extensions.  And he's been doing it for quite awhile. Yet, even stranger, no one ever seems to step forward saying they really won something.  Sounds like Chris et al may be playing a silly game to see who will call - no one ever seems to have given him and his company any money from what I can see on the various reports on this company when you google the whole situation. So we must assume he and his group get their weird kicks in some weird way when people call back or hang up, or whatever.  Be wary! Some have called them telepests - quite accurate.
