- john replies to dollymae| 2 repliesI posted my car on auto trader and in two days Brad called and left a message to call 18663260950. The reason he called is that he can sell my car and he says he will sell for a small fee and with my type of car he says he can guarantee he can sell my car. They just cruise the adds looking for types of cars that they think they can move. I tried to check them out with the BBB and they had no listings for Auto Annex of Longwood Inc. so far I have had 2 calls from Brad and one from a woman name Lisa from another company like Longwood Inc.
- john replies to john| 1 replyThis is some of what I found on the web
For $99.00 Longwood industries will sell your car on www.biglots.com and www.autohopper.com. How nice of them. If the car doesn't sell you get your some of your money back, maybe. I couldn't figure out how a company that has the audacity to claim that they are a a 501(c)(3). So I took a look at the "About Us" section.
"Longwood Autos is a division of Longwood Industries, Inc. We are a 501c3 company based in Bedford, Virginia. Our company was established over 25 years ago for the purpose of providing economic opportunities to disadvantaged and mentally handicapped individuals. We accomplish this by offering a wide variety of products and services from textile manufacturing to online affiliate partnerships. Longwood has experienced tremendous growth since its inception and has grown to a workforce of over 140 employees."
So, if they have been around for 25 years then it should be pretty easy to find information on them. So I started looking around Bedford, Virginia for clues. Sure enough I found Longwood Industries listed on a website called "Mental Health of America" as some kind of textile employer of disabled residents in Bedford, Virgina. - John replies to johnYou can find them at Ripoffreport.com. You can report them to the director of MHACV.org. Just send an email to them.

I suggest that you sign up on National Do Not Call Registry. Once you sign up and still get calls after 31 one days you can file a complaint. - Chris M/Toms River NJ| 4 repliesMost people on this forum seem a bit overly paranoid....While we as consumers should always be very careful, I`m reading about what sounds like the same company which I signed up with about a week ago. I Placed an ad for a vehicle a month ago on craigslist. I got a call a few weeks ago from a company called Longwood Inc. I was told that they attempt to match up sellers with buyers of used vehicles for a one time fee, and if after 90 days they don`t sell your car, you will get your money back, except for a small $29 fee. I eagerly signed up and honestly believe that, these people ARE legitimate ! I got the email address of the person I was speaking with >> Brad<< Phone number is 866 326-0950, and while Longwood Inc may possibly be the parent company, I also found out that the subdivision that I was dealing with in fact, is called Auto Marketing Systems, Roanoke, Va. and so far everything seems right on the money, because after signing up, paying with credit card, I was issued a user name which was the same as my customer ID #, and was also given a password by Brad, to log into my account and to monitor my vehicle`s sale progress. Once again NO scam going on here ! Because I clearly see online when logging on, everything listed, details of my vehicle, price, location, options, etc etc. What I notice here is a thousand reports from people who haven`t followed through, signed up, made the commitment, gone through the process itself, and who are simply complaining about the phone call itself from Longwood Inc. I`m seeing mention of them on the Rip off report too. There is no ripoff whatsoever as far as I`m concerned, but then again, I`m someone who is really interested in selling my vehicle, diving into the process, and If it doesn`t sell after 90 days, I have a receipt and contract stating that, I will receive a refund, plain and simple. All these complaints I`m reading here seem mostly from people who are on the outside looking in, and those who don`t even know or understand how the Auto Marketing System really works. Just check out the following link before screaming to the BBB, FCC, FBI,FTC, etc etc etc... Let`s get informed before needlessly blowing the whistle here ok? - DiscoStu replies to JerseyAnd there are no scammers on Craig's List offering to buy your car for 25% more than you ask, just cash the check and mail some back?
Geez... leave "Brad" alone... be more worried about Craig. Yet you have no complaints about Craig's List.
Of the housing properties listed in my city in the northeast on Craig's List, just about half are from the same source. The photos show palm trees. Don't think there are any in Pennsylvania. - THI received a message from Brad at Longwood Inc. He inquired about my posting on craigslist for a car for sale. I returned the call out of curiousity. I was put in touch with Katie who told me Brad was busy. She proceeded to tell me that for a fee of $99 they could sell my car because they had potential buyers. When I explained that a month was too long, she quickly told me that a few days was all they needed if I was available to start showing the car immediately. Of course they would need the funds up front. No thanks!! I also specifically asked how they got my number and she danced around the subject not really giving me a straight answer.

- Shane replies to ctI've gotten a few calls from Brad from a 866-326-0949 number. Longwood INc. Do they have a web site? I've only posted my bike on craigslist. Anybody interested in a 05 Harley V-rod with low miles?
- AzeemI experienced with the same as well. I got a call from Brad and he left a message that he called me many times and now he is leaving a message. I put my car on autotrader.ca and buysell.com. I guess he took my cell number from one of the site. I replied his call and talked to Katie there. She was asking me to give her deposit of $199 which is refundable in case the car is not sold within 90 days. They will charge $29 as admin fees and will refund the remaining. I think this is scam and I'll strongly recommend not to give any of your personal information to them.

- Dana| 1 replyThanks everyone! Won't be doing business here. In the voicemail "Brad" left me, he had the audacity to act annoyed I hadn't returned his call. I thought it was pushy when he said in the voicemail "I have been trying to get a hold of you for days! Then I decided to leave a voicemail..." like he can't believe he had to leave a voicemail! The number I was told to call back is (866) 326-0949. Will definitely be reporting them as I am on the National Do Not Call Registry as well.

- Dana replies to Chris M/Toms River NJ| 2 repliesWow, Brad trained you well! How long have you worked there? This is obviously an illegitimate company. What kind of business is run through data mining peoples information on websites? Especially when explicitly says for vendors not to contact sellers (this is the case with Craigslist and many others). Why don't you invest some money, do some marketing, and run a business propoerly? Come on!
- Dana replies to DanaDon't do any business with these people! Just looked them up on the better business and they are NOT a BBB company and are rated a C! See for yourselves here:
