- kcSame story. Message goes on and on in Spanish. I called the number back and a prison employee told me it was an inmate in Texas named Douglas (last name in Spanish). Do they just dial random numbers or is there a strategy to their scam?

- JuleI also got the same call ten times from this number. Very annoying with harassing calls from this very number whoever it is.
- BeesKneesSongI received a call from that number on my cell and missed it, so I called back (out of curiosity) and it is indeed a company that monitors and handles inmates calls from correction facilities. Since I also do not know anyone from a correction facility, it had to have been a miss-dial.
- Lonely in Boston| 1 replyThanks for the info, folks! My wife's boyfriend is being deported (Hallelujah!) and I noticed this number on the phone log with my phone company. I have "AT&T Smart Limits" for phone use control, so I have the number blocked now.
Incidentally, I gather the rates are VERY expensive, so don't give a credit card out unless you're sure you know who it is that is calling you and you really want to speak to them. The company makes big money, and the jail gets a good slice. Some facilities use the "profits" to fund inmate recrational services and things, like holiday dinners, so they don't have to put it on their budget.
We''re talking $5-10 a minute here, folks--sometimes more!
BeesKnees Song, above--just curious-- you SURE you don't know anybody in a correction* facility? You never know!
*Why do they call these lock-ups "correction facilities?" Nobody ever gets corrected there!- Caller: ICE-Tacoma, WA
- Rhoni| 1 replyI received four calls today from 866-348-6231. I did not answer. There was a voicemail left in Spanish.
- Caller: Don't know
- noname replies to Rhonigot 2 calls and both times left a vm message saying press "1" to have a privilege conversation with a lawyer, press "2" to decline.
- common sense replies to TexasHey Texas - how about giving us YOUR number and we will forward these calls to you since you are so eager to help a complete stranger that calls RANDOM numbers to SCAM unsuspecting people. MY crowd doesn't hang out in corretional facilities. Just be sure to have all of your bank information credit card numbers and SS# ready to give to them.
- ReceptionistHave received numerous calls from this number over past two days. Heavily accented male voice. Calls claim to come from Shelby County (TN) Correctional Facility, Fort Isabelle Detention Center and others. Have advised all to refuse all calls - press 2 to do so.
- Talton Communications Inc| 2 repliesIf you got the call from this number, chances are, you've got a friend or a relative in jail or one of those Immigration related detention centers. This number belongs to a company Talton Communications Inc.(taltoncommunications.com), which is servicing such facilities. It's official, it is not some telemarketer Pick up that call, accept collect, you won't loose much even if you don't know the caller (just hang up later). DO NOT assume this world is "perfect", authorities do make mistakes often, some people are getting stuck there for no valid reason and they simply can't reach out to let the world know they are in trouble and need help.
God Bless- Caller: taltoncommunications.com
