I received a check in the mIL i CHASHED THE CHECK THE NEXT DAY I fOUND OUT the check ewas no goo, checksmart keep on harrassing me about the money I advised them That I did not know the check was fraud it had a legimiate bank name on ot IO thought it was real, the cooroprate office keep on harrassing me about the money evry nasty and rude4 told him i donot have the money right now, I wish they will stop harrasing me threatened on calling the police on me, I did not know the check was no good I fell the one that cashed the check should be responsible for the paying back the money, threatned to put me in jail, what you think could I go to jail, it was not my fault I didnot know the check was a fraud.

Why does Check Smart not offer a payment plan like all members of the cfsa are supposed to?? As part of fair lending? they are jerks..

I received a message from someone at x 4008.  I called him back and I told him when I would be in the store to take care of it even though I was already communicating with the store when I would be in.  He was nice and polite.

I got a check a few weeks back, and thought it was from my work, and was to excited to check and see where it came from. bout a week after I cashed it I got a call from checksmart saying the check was returned and I owed them $1300.00... so that next morning I went in and tried to work things out with them but they would not take a payment plan nor would they work with me to resolve this matter. then a day later I got a call from this BIll Howard guy( Extremely Rude and Very Assumish) he said that I had gotten a Check From GWU(George Washington University) and had filled out a student from of some sort & taken their loan and ran with the money..after I explained to him that it was all a big miss understanding and I thought it was from my work, He just said that I had till that next morning to come up with the 1300 dollars
that same day he called and harrassed my mother in law, My Aunt and people I never told him about...
I also tried to set up a payment plan with him and he just said "I'm not taking your [***] Payments, you owe 1300 & I'm gonna get it 1 way or another"  he keeps on calling me but I will not talk to this prick!!!!! I also have emails of what this guy who sent this check and it matches word for word on an anti international Scammer list!!!! I've been scammed and he believes I'm this scammer.  yet when I called GWU they had no Idea that there was a check sent out to me... How dose that make since????

Yeah its CheckSmart. I borrwed some money from them two weeks ago. It was due yesterday. They wanted me to pay over the phone. I said no. My contract stipulates a 10 day grace period past due date without penalty. I will be in the office I borrowed it from to pay it back tomorrow so bug off. Click!

I just got a call from this number as well. Something about an account i had...Which is not possible because i don't not take cash advances EVER! Anything this crazy [***] starts YELLING! Like she's all that...Well i let her know REAL quick that i had recorded the entire conversation and that i would be forwarding a copy of our little chat to the BBB. Then i hung up. She called back 12 times leaving several LOUD messages on my answering device.

Why are they calling? There is no one here by that name we are a church.

Keep calling me. I never have done business with checksmart, need to stop calling me. I would advise if they keep harassing you to contact the attorney general and fcc, bbb is a good rating site but can't get as much done as the other two.

I am pregnant and am not in the mood for all the games. This number keeps calling me.. and its always late at night always after 8pm and leaves computerized msgs. When i call back during normal business hours nobody answers. Ive seen this number is for a cashland ive never got loans threw them so why are they blowing up my phone??

Hi I am a collector at a collection agency that collects for some of Checksmart's accounts (payday loans and bounced checks). I typically collect in states of OH, MO, KS, AZ, and CO. If you have a debt with Checksmart and it has been sent to a 3rd party collection agency, you should call their corporate office and find out which agency your account was sent to. If they say it was sent to an agency in Phoenix, AZ there is a good chance that the agency I work for will be handling your account. If you want to resolve your debt -even if you can't pay it all at once- and you find that it has been sent to Phoenix, you should try me and I will work with you. You must call the Checksmart corporate office first of all see where your account, get the number for the agency your account is at. If you get lucky and it was sent to Phoenix, then you should ask for me. I am more than understanding when it comes to paying debts like these. I know not everyone can pay 50, 100, or 500 dollars right away. To avoid Checksmart from garnishing your wages after the collection agency is done with your account, you need to at least get in communication with us.

I can't tell you what the name of the agency I work for is, but if your account was sent to Phoenix, AZ there is a really good chance that you will be able to work out arrangements with me, as long as you call and keep me informed. the more informed I am, the better I can help. For instance I have a consumer paying only $20 a month for an over $600 debt from checksmart. It might take the rest of their life to pay off fully but it keeps her file from going to an attorney's office.

Please be responsible with your debt. Even if you can't pay it, you should at least know who is handling your account(s) and make friends with your account representative. They are there to help and I am the most helpful in this office when it comes to Checksmart files.

P.S You might want to check with the store you took your loan out of first before calling their corporate offices. People there are not nice.

Buckeye check cashing, Checksmart and Cash1 are owned by the same big wigs. There might be a few more companies than these 3 but these are the 3 big ones I know about.
