Yeah, I get about 5-7 calls a day from these guys.  They are the collections dept. for Checksmart/Express Payroll Advance.  Like SO MANY others I and my wife have defaulted on payday loans from them.  They are very rude and sometimes downright mean!!  How many times do I have to tell them that I don't have the money to pay them back?  What am I supposed to do, eat paper, drink green paint and poop out $100 dollar bills?  The money is SO easy to get and SO hard to pay back.  But, what can they do?  It's only a loan and all they can do is damage your credit, but in my case you can't kill what's already dead.

Thanks for the information.  I faxed them a cease and desist letter verbally and in writing and they are continuing to call.  They were extremely rude an told me that "they would continue to call until I got my butt into their office and paid."  Little did they know, that I work for a collection law firm and all of our conversations are taped.  They will go down!!!!!!!

They call every 2-3 days. I stopped answering and they leave no message. I do not owe CheckSmart one penny. I wish they would get the hell out of my life. I have reported them to the National Do Not Call Registry at least 5 times.

Checksmart is going down. I have had it with the threats. My lawyer will be contacting them tomorrow.

I am a receptionist and I get calls from these people 10+ times a day for a former empolyee.  I call them and tell them this empolyee is no longer at the company and when I ask what company they are calling from they just say "the corporate offices", they ask me why this former empolyee would have this as his home phone number if he is not really there, how in the world should I know that?  Tell them to remove me from their list, but I still get numerous calls a day and it is tying up my line, this is drive me nuts!

Someone used my name and phone number as a reference, now this company? is calling and harassing and threating me.

just rec'd an URGENT message that I need to return their call, that they have tried diligently to get a hold of me (this is their first call) and that they will take "other forms of action" if I dont call.

I have a credit score of 780 and have never written a bad check in my life. I think I will just take legal action for the fun of it. Someone has to stop these crazies from falsifying a collection call.

So you can afford an attorney but you can't afford to pay your bad check??

Some one from BCCI Recovery Cooperate Office called and left a message stating they tried to resolve some bill payment issue ( but did not sated what or which bill or amount ) with out stating the name of the person they are trying to reach and asking to call back. When I call them they asked for the number they called and said they where looking for another person called Rose. I am having the number for the past 7 years. This is scandal

CheckSmart  859 581 8400 called us 3 times a day all weekend looking for someone that does not live here and who we do not know.  We have never used CheckSmart and have no need to.  I don't know why this company keeps harrassing innocent people.   They threatened us and said they were going to keep calling whether we asked them not to or not and we had to work to get the phone number taken out of the "corporate list".  I called the corporate number 1 800 837 0381 and got a voice mail and reached no one.  If anyone has spare time on their hands, call both of these numbers and bother these people for me so they will stop calling our home. I think I'm going to invoice them.  It is cutting into my billable time today. Thank you for posting this service.

Would you happen to know "Andrea" The new senior collections person?  I would really like to know her last name, as I keep trying to pay my bill, then when I go into the branch, they tell me that they can't help me, and if I call the corporate office, they won't let me talk to her, and transfer me to "Sandra".  Can you please help me?!

Called and left threating message that word for word here.." We will get you,you cannot hide from us". Kinda rude.Yes it is checksmart, but very sarcastic and very rude messages left. No need, i think. Talk like these people that owe money are humans, and not animals.

I have been calls from this number for almost 3 months.. I have called several times... I was just on hold have being RUDlY transferred several times... Women picks up the phone... "what's your social".. Lady you dont need my social and i want you to quit calling me.. She said they would remove my number... They call me again, and i will threaten them with telephone harrassment

I had a loan with checksmart and with express also/sister co.  I was encouraged to go to express when checksmart couldnt give me full loan approval for the amount I needed someone stole money from me and I cant pay it back on time.  I am trying to make arrangments with them how have they handled it, if you dont mind me asking, in addition how long has it been that you have owed them money, are they taking action on you.  I put stop pays on the checks, closed my checking account, sent them a registered mail letter telling them that I will be paying them back with a portion of the money I owe them and I will be paying them every month and to cease and desist calling myself, job, cell, relatives, references or any other person or business affiliated with me.  One of the businesses accepted and signed for the registered letter the other didnt.  I am getting calls.  I told them in the letter they are in direct violation of ohio law if they dont adhere to the cease and desist order, as I have been told by the attorney generals office.  I just started to get calls from this company and I am going to tell them that if they dont stop calling me and just accept that I will be paying them back I will stop the volunteer payments and I will let them take me to small claims court and countersue them for violating the Ohio law.  I am also going to Monday contact Governor Stricklands office, the Attorney Generals office, The federal trade commission and the whatever cfsa or whatever they belong to complain. I cant help it that blank happens I am willing to pay them back but if they are going to be rude about it and break the law I will try to prevail against them.  The law isnt exactly on these companies side right now.  I was just wondering what they wanted you to do, what they were willing to accept, how long amount of time has went by since you havent paid them and what action they have taken.  Thanks in advance.

I borrowed just $250 from CheckSmart a couple of months ago, then lost my job and couldn't pay it back right away. I have been a CheckSmart customer for many years, not only for payday loans, but for paying bills, getting money orders, etc. I have NEVER had a bit of trouble with them. In fact, a few years ago when I also defaulted on a loan, they worked with me until I paid it off little by little, and were very cooperative. The folks in the local CheckSmart office know me well, and know I will pay it when I can. But this time it's different. I am getting bombarded with calls from this 866-354-0567 number, AND also calls from a very nasty woman who says she is with CheckSmart Headquarters in Dublin, OH. So I'm being pestered by both ends! Won't anyone work with you any more - especially if you are more than willing to make good on your promises?
