automatic message urging you to call this # with no further info, very persistent, calling every day

Calls Everyday, no message, when I pick up there is an automated system

Taylor from this number calling saying urgent to return call.

I also got a strange call from this number. When I returned the can it said thanks for calling the corporate office.

I did a little digging and found out it is checksmart

It sounded like he said his name was brian with Checksmart. He said he was so hot and that he needed to hear from me now and that it wasn't funny.  He gave me the phone numer as 866-354-0567 ext. 4062

It is Checksmart. I owe them like 600.00. lol

Just an answering machine saying I qualify for a card. No information given.

it is checksmart.i talked to them when they called on my cell phone.the corparate office makes these calls because according to the woman i talked to says they dont communicate with there stores except by computer and they have a different system than their stores.so they dont know youve picked up until 24 hrs later. well it sounded good

This number and 866-354-0567 (also several other 59xx) calls my cellphone several times a day. Usually starts at around 2 PM Pacific and goes nonstop till around 8 PM every 15-30 minutes.

When picked up or when it hits the voicemail leaves a recorded message call back number with a code, usually the 866 number above or one of the 614-798-59xx numbers.

When called back, the ladies respond as "Corporate Office" won't tell me whose corporate office, or why they are ignoring the Federal do not call registry, they hung up on me when I asked for their company name.

Looking for an Aisha Mohammed...what the heck?  and she insisted that i am the Aisha person and that she was trying 2 help me.  i tried to say...'it is not me'..'you got the wrong number' but nothing. The STUPID woman kept on yelling at me.  How dare they...Checksmart corporate office!  She supposedly removed my number off the list......WE WILL SEE.

This is a companys everday and will not even list to you about some person that does not live here! I even explained this several times and was even made fun of on the fun by a manger.  Does anyone know anything about this company!!!!

My boss at work just got a collection call for someone that does not work for our company.  She tried to tell them they did not work here and the collection agent (a male) started to call her a liar and so on.  She asked to speak with a supervisor and demanded the name of the company. They would not give any information.  

We called back and after a long fight a different male transfered our call to Checksmart, the woman there had no info about the company.  As We were talking to her I was researching this info and told her that it is indeed their collection agency and we are reporting their abuse.

I actually work in the Payday lending industry and the behavior that is described in the above posts is horrible.  The company that is in question here "CheckSmart" is a member of the CFSA, a governing organization for the payday industry.  All of these incidents should be reported to the CFSA not to mention the fact that in some of the above incidents they were actually breaking federal collections laws.  Know the laws and companies like this cannot treat you in this manor.

We have been receiving several(6-9) calls per day from 866-354-0567 for one of the temporary employees at our factory. It is bad enough to repeat the same number of times they need to call the temp agency that she works through. It is very much beyond simple rudeness and is harrassment to be screamed at, insulted and now even threatened by these people. It is unfornunate this person ever borrowed money from them. She has a DNR against her here (do not return) as a direct result of the complaints from the receptionist, making it even harder for her to pay them back. These companies should not even be allowed to call the workplace.

I am speaking as a former employee of the above office in Dublin, Ohio. I worked here for 3 years as a "senior collector". From what I've read above, it sounds exactly like everyday life in the office there. They not only encourage this type of behavior, they discipline their employees if they are not "mean enough". They also treat their employees the same way!! I would never recommend doing any business with this company!!

someone from this number calls every morning, when I tracked down the number, (just after they called one morning and asked for Amber), someone I had never heard of and began calling me a liar. Once I woke up enough to think about it, I thought it would be best to contact them and straighten this out. After talking with someone (they don't give their names) they transfered me to the same woman that had been calling me and she was even more rude, calling me Amber and a liar and hung up on me.
My boyfriend, over hearing the conversation, called them back and talked to a man, and after informing them, if they continued to call he would notify the FCC, the man informed him the FCC didn't apply to Checksmart!

I know of the policy and procedure of these companies. For everyone who reads this just know this...if you are someone they are calling and the person they ask for is not you, or you do not know this person it is because whomever they are trying to reach gave them your number as a contact number...probably because they knew they were going to skip out on paying back the money they owe and you are just the unlucky individual whos number they made up. This is not 3rd party collections, therefore, they do not have to follow the same guidelines as normal collection agencies...they can be as rude as they want to be. If you get one of these calls, be nice...its the only way they will take your number out of their system...trust me! They may keep calling for a couple days until they recognize "hey this really isnt a valid number". But if you're rude they'll keep calling!

Recieve numerous calls from 866-354-0567.  They're trying to reach a James Taylor with regards to debt.  I informed them they had the wrong number, but they said I was "covering for" James Taylor & insisted on speaking with him.  They said they couldn't remove my # and would continue to call until they spoke with James Taylor.  They said the phone# was on a check and this James person lived in Cincinnati OH.  They said the name of their company was BCI Recovery and of their 200 locations, I was receiving calls from a location in Ohio.  The man I spoke with tonight wouldn't give me his name or any additional information.  When I called the number back to ask for a manager, they answered "Corporate Headquarters"

A few suggestions...

1) File a complaint online with the Federal Trade Commission here:

2) File a complaint with your state's attorney general. (You can find your AG's contact information here http://www.naag.org )

3) According to other online complaints about this company, they're located in Ohio. So file a complaint with the Ohio attorney general, too.

4) If they call again, tell them to cease communication with you and warn them that you'll sue them if they don't comply. And if they don't comply with your cease communication notice, sue 'em. (And file a complaint with your local police.)
