I contacted Telus about getting a call from this number.  Here is their email response:

There was a outbound calling campaign carried out by a company contracted in by TELUS to promote the migration of our 'Prepaid' clients to move to a contract.

Your account shows they attempted to contact you to discuss this offer in October, November and December; however, the offer would only be available if the user of the device was considered of legal age to be under contract.

I have modified our 'Marketing' options to discontinue contacting you by phone solicitation and regret any frustration this may have caused you.

I hope you find this resolution to your satisfaction and appreciate your continued business with TELUS.

I have been getting "daily" calls on my "pay as you go" cell from this number over the past couple of months however I refuse to pick up.  It is rather annoying and possibly a ploy to burn up minutes. If I want a cellular contract I am quite capable of seeking out the "best deal" on my own...simply put I don't!!!  In fact, now learning that these calls have been initiated by TELUS I will no longer be purchasing my minutes from one of their private sector outlits as I have been doing for the past couple of years.  The private TELUS store I have "only" dealt with relative to my cell has obviously sold out my private information to a telemarketing fir,...thanks TELUS!  I reside in the lower mainland of BC.

I see that this has been going on since last June. I just started getting these on Feb29th at the rate of 2 -3 times a day.I don't keep my phone on at nite. Fortunately they don't leave a message, which would eat up Prepaid time.

Based on previous posts and the 866 prefix, scammy telemarketer.

Whoever is calling from this number...please stop!  You are calling my cell phone and I never answer calls.  My cell is for emergency only. Thank you.

I get two calls a day, every day, from this phone #.  I have prepaid cell time and will not answer these calls. They are a bother.  Can I stop them?

I just got my firstcall now. It was so loud (people talking in the background) and once I said I was not interested the guy was all upset and said aww common! I don't think any worker would give that much of a hard time if you said no.

I understand, I get up to 2 calls by them everyday at all hours of the day. I can't take it anymore!

I've had 5 calls in the last 4 days from this number. I have a pay as you go phone and DO NOT answer numbers I don't know.

I've been getting a call from this number for a while now butI have not answered it nor will I ever I also have a pay as you go cell phone from telus. It's really starting to get annoying.

Thanks for all the posts. I have been hounded by this number calling for the past several days - on my Telus prepaid and do not answer. I agree with the comments - Telus STOP! Text me or email me.

Dammit all..  they are calling my cell phone now  as of march 2012

First they called my prepaid cell (telus acct)   I didn't pick up.
Now I get the following [***] text- "Need ur assistance to further my education as my guardian in ur country plz. write to my mail (mwkj@ymail.com) I give u details of me- Miss Maria (+2347045194270)

I have received three calls from 866-360-1448, one on 27 March and two on 30 March.  I did not answer any of them.  I am a pay as you go TELUS customer.

LOSE MY NUMBER

I have a regular Telus cell. phone. They call me very often and I once asked them if they speak french cause i don't speak english (I live in Quebec, so it's easy to bulls**t them on that). Didn't received any call for about 5-6 weeks, but they start again this week but I never answer to them.... Can someone stop those esti de fatiguants.........????????

Yeah so I have a telus prepaid cell and just got a call and when I answered there was noone there, just dead air, no dial tone or anything like that.  People might want to be careful, because it's obviously some kind of spamming/telemarketing scheme that they might be using to steal info of some kind.
